Ricki Lake's amazing transformation and talk show legend's surprising new career
Ricki Lake's chat show was a staple on British TV screens in the late 90s and early 00s and she has since gone on to have a remarkable career and personal transformation A familiar face on televisions worldwide in the late 90s and early 00s, Ricki Lake is perhaps most recognised for her role as the original Tracy Turnblad in the 1988 film Hairspray, which later became a musical and was subsequently remade into a movie. Following the film, she rose to household fame with her eponymous daytime talk show. However, decades after the show's conclusion, Ricki is back in the limelight due to an impressive career shift and personal transformation. From the 90s until 2004, Ricki's talk show was a regular feature in homes across America and beyond, discussing real-life issues across a variety of topics, often delving into relationship disputes and dilemmas. The show premiered in 1993 when Ricki was just 24-years-old and enjoyed a successful run of 11 seasons. A year after the show's debut, Ricki married her first husband, Rob Sussman, a New York Times illustrator who found it challenging to cope with the pressures of being married to a celebrity. In a conversation with People magazine at the time, Sussman expressed that being financially dependent on Ricki was "really unhealthy and emasculating", reports the Mirror US. He added: "I don't want to become Mr Ricki Lake." The couple had two sons before their marriage ended in 2003. In the ensuing years, the former actress and host has embarked on a diverse range of ventures. In 2011, she took to the dance floor on Dancing with the Stars, and her television credits also include appearances on reality shows such as Drop the Mic, The Masked Singer, and The X Factor: Celebrity. Meanwhile, she also explored documentary-making, serving as the executive producer of 2008's The Business of Being Born, which examined childbirth, and contributing to 2018's Weed the People, a documentary focused on the use of marijuana in treating children with cancer. In 2020, she opened up about her long-standing struggle with alopecia and her determination to improve her overall health. Recently, she revealed that she and her second husband, Ross Burningham, have collectively shed more than 30 pounds in the past four months. Taking to Instagram, Ricki shared: "Hi friends. I've been wanting to share with you what I've been up to these last four months. On October 26, 2023, I made a commitment to myself to get healthier," she wrote. "My husband, Ross, joined me in this effort. Together we have each lost 30+ pounds. I really want to share, because we did this without relying on pharmaceuticals. (Not that there is anything wrong with that.)". Now 55 and going through perimenopause, Ricki admitted she was initially uncertain whether her body would respond to weight loss efforts as it had in the past, but expressed pride and amazement at their progress, saying: "Being 55 and in perimenopause, I was a bit worried that my body would not drop the pounds like it had in the past. I am so so proud of us. I feel amazing. I feel strong." She teased a future post in which she would elaborate on her approach, stating, "I will go in-depth in another post about what I did exactly, but suffice to say, this is the healthiest way I've lost weight in all of my years." She accompanied her reflection with contrasting photos from her initial weight loss journey 17 years earlier, when she cut her weight by half. She remarked: "I held onto this #NormaKamali one-piece for all these years wondering if I would ever be able to wear it again."

Selena Gomez celebrates Benny Blanco's birthday as Hailey Bieber denies mocking their romance
Selena Gomez gave Benny Blanco a touching birthday shout-out. The 'Only Murders in the Building' star celebrated her fiancé with an Instagram slideshow Saturday, gushing that she is 'not sure what [she] did to deserve' him. 'But damn am I glad you were born,' she added. 'happy birthday baby .' The social media slideshow kicked off with a photo of Blanco, 37, kissing his 32-year-old partner's forehead. The rest of the carousel included snaps of the couple posing on a snowy getaway, cuddling up on a couch, snapping selfies in a car and more. The upload came on the heels of Hailey Bieber making headlines for allegedly 'liking' a TikTok video mocking Gomez and Blanco's photo shoot for Interview magazine. The model, however, denied showing support for the shady post via her rep. 'This never happened,' Bieber's spokesperson said Sunday. 'This entire story has been fabricated by a content creator looking to capitalize off of an old, tired narrative.' Gomez and Bieber, 28, have repeatedly made headlines for an alleged feud due to their mutual connection to Justin Bieber. The 'Baby' singer dated Gomez on and off from 2010 to 2018 and married Hailey just months after their final breakup. The couple, who renewed their vows in 2024, are the parents of 6-month-old son Jack. Are Bengals changing their minds about a Trey Hendrickson trade?
Are Bengals changing their minds about a Trey Hendrickson trade? The vibe around a Trey Hendrickson trade for the Cincinnati Bengals has changed in a hurry. Not all that long ago, such an idea was a non-starter. Why trade the reigning NFL sack leader and only elite portion of a defense undergoing a dramatic rebuild? But one report recently listed Hendrickson as the possible "odd man out" if the Bengals get huge contract extensions done with Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Now, The 33rd Team's Ari Meirov said during an appearance on the "Drop the Mic" podcast that he's starting to get a different sense of things about the situation with Hendrickson, too. "To this point, they're very far apart," Meirov said. "A couple of weeks ago, I would have said there's no chance he gets traded. I think the possiblity's out there. If they're able to get a crazy, crazy offer for him, I think they'd be willing to listen. They don't want to trade him, they want to keep him, but now their ears are a little open, I would say." Keep in mind that what's coming out right now could very much be one-sided leaks and leverage plays. A Hendrickson extension could happen at literally any point between now and free agency opening next week. Ditto for Chase and Higgins. Still, where Hendrickson and his reps want to land in pay matters. Chase is going to get $40 million per year and Higgins could very well be at $30 million or more per year, too. Hendrickson should probably be up over that latter number, too, but the fact that he's now 30 years old will make the Bengals hesitant to go there. Both Hendrickson and the Bengals have remained adamant they don't want to split, but it's likely other teams are at least weighing the idea of picking up the phone, just in case. As always, when it comes to blockbuster Bengals trades, they would have to win it in a landslide to actually make a deal happen.

Latest Bengals, Tee Higgins contract update is pretty ugly
Latest Bengals, Tee Higgins contract update is pretty ugly The Cincinnati Bengals aren't having a good time right now. By most reporting so far, the Bengals continue to have some problems juggling the contract sagas of Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Trey Hendrickson. Most notable might be Higgins right now, since it's assumed that Chase will wind up getting his $40 million annually no matter what. On the Higgins front, The 33rd Team's Ari Meirov revealed on the "Drop the Mic" podcast that the Bengals simply aren't where Higgins wants them on extension talks just yet. "To this point, they're not at $30 million and the guarantees are not that Joe Burrow pressure is getting to the front office." Hence, the Bengals putting a second franchise tag on Higgins, extending the deadline for an extension to July 15. That second tag checks in at $26 million, which has put the Bengals in a brutal spot. Now, the extension number needs to be $30 million or higher annually because Higgins understands that the team won't tag him a third time next year. So now, they have to make an appealing offer or he'll eyeball playing another year on the tag before going to free agency in 2026 -- while also keeping the fully $26 million on the books for 2025. It's a brutally tough spot for the Bengals to be in, especially when Chase and Hendrickson need deals, too.
