Outlander: Blood of My Blood The prequel series' 10-episode inaugural season premieres next month, while Outlander 's eighth and final season will take STARZ by storm next year. The Outlander Small-Screen Universe (OSSU) The end of the dreadful Droughtlander is on the horizon. SDCC 2025 is the gift that keeps on giving, y'all. STARZ descended upon the con with not one , but two panels: one for its flagship series, Outlander, and one for its prequel, Outlander: Blood of My Blood . So, what goodies did said panels deliver to us mere fans? A Season 8 teaser trailer and two sneak peek clips. RELATED: New TV Shows This Week (July 20 – 26) It All Leads to This The teaser for the mega hit's eighth and (sob) final season kicks off with a trip down memory lane — a nostalgic flurry of scenes from the pilot until Season 7. We see Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire's (Caitríona Balfe) epic love story unfold in tandem with Brianna (Sophie Skelton) and Roger (Richard Rankin). We reunite with familiar faces long gone. The montage culminates in new footage in the teaser's final moments. Jamie tells Claire he's read Frank's book. It declares that 'war is coming to the back country,' and that 'James Fraser dies in it.' Oof. Well, this isn't the first time Jamie Fraser has evaded death. RELATED: Read our Outlander recaps Blood of My Blood in Two Timelines In the first clip for Blood of My Blood , Henry (Jeremy Irvine) and Julia (Hermione Corfield) Beauchamp, Claire's parents, drive through the Scottish Highlands. They chat about Claire staying with Uncle Lamb and visiting the British Museum while they're away. It's a short, sweet and simple clip. The second clip zeroes in on Jamie's parents, Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) and Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater). There's the requisite yearning while standing a respectable distance from each other. At least the nearby bridge can fill in for the role of chaperone. Here, Brian learns that Ellen is a MacKenzie, while Ellen discovers that her soon-to-be husband is a Fraser. Outlander: Blood of My Blood premieres with two episodes on Friday, August 8, at 9/8c, on STARZ and the STARZ app. Outlander Season 8 will debut sometime in early 2026. Outlander: A Few Verra Good Reasons to Give Lord John His Own Spinoff Series

Warning: This post contains spoilers for the verse, including but not limited to events that happen in the books and the Lord John novels/novellas. Proceed with caution, aye? In the midst of another Droughtlander, how do Fraser aficionados entertain ourselves? We revisit the idea of spinoff TV series centered on David Berry's Lord John Grey. More from TVLine Prime Video Launches Hallmark+/Starz Streaming Bundle - Here's How to Sign Up Mariska Hargitay Thinks Benson and Stabler Should Get Together in SVU's Last Episode - Respectfully? Nope. Outlander: Blood of My Blood Renewed for Season 2 Ahead of Series Premiere Here's a short primer for those unfamiliar with author Diana Gabaldon and her work: Lord John is a British military man who was the governor of Ardsmuir Prison, where Jamie was an inmate in Season 3. The two struck up an improbable friendship in spite of the fact that Grey is a gay man with feelings for the Scot, who doesna feel the same. Since then, John has become one of Jamie's closest friends and even agreed to raise Jamie's illegitimate son, William. (Long story.) At the current point in Starz series' adaptation of the novels, Lord John and Jamie are on the outs after Jamie beat him up for sleeping with Jamie's wife, Claire. (Much, much longer story — find out more about it here.) Lord John also is the central character of his own line of novels and novellas, which are set in the same universe as Outlander both before and after John meets the Frasers. Outlander's Final Season: Everything We Know So Far View List Yes, Starz already has an Outlander spinoff — the prequel Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which tells the story of Jamie and Claire's parents — coming in August. But all of this means that there's ample source material for another TV show, starring Berry and chronicling Grey's exploits in London and beyond. The actor himself told our sister site Deadline that such a series had been in the works at one point, but 'ultimately, at the time, it was decided that that wasn't the right fit, or wasn't the right thing for them. I was prepared to do it, and I'm still prepared to do it.' The more we think of it, the more we need this series to come to fruition: Lord John's story is dramatic, intriguing and inherently sexy (at one point, he says to Jamie, 'I tell you, sir — were I to take you to my bed — I could make you scream. And by God, I would do it.' TRY TO TELL US YOU'RE NOT INTERESTED NOW). Plus, there are plenty of opportunity for familiar faces — a certain redhead, perhaps? — to make an appearance or two. Scroll down to see all of our verra good reasons for Starz to greenlight a Lord John spinoff, then hit the comments with rationale of your own! While Outlander is historical fiction with a splash of time-travel, Diana Gabaldon's Lord John stories wrap historical fiction around mysteries. A potential spinoff television adaptation could be Sherlock-style fun, with a compelling leading man using his sleuthing skills to solve the problems (and often murders) at hand. Lord John is a closeted gay man in both the Outlander series and his own string of stories, but that in no way means he lives like a monk. A standalone series could explore his rather varied tastes in romantic partners… … including Hanoverian Capt. Stephan Von Namtzen (whom we've dream cast here with TURN: Washington's Spies' Ian Kahn… … or maybe even Sleepy Hollow alum Neil Jackson)… … and indigenous guide-with-benefits Manoke (whom we wouldn't mind seeing Dark Winds' Kiowa Gordon play). Those familiar with Gabaldon's Lord John and the Brotherhood of the Blade and The Scottish Prisoner know that John has more run-ins with Jamie during his years as a prisoner than the Starz series has depicted. These range in tone (that scene in the stable, woah) and circumstance (trip to Ireland, anyone?) and offer a fuller picture of the two men's path to hard-won friendship… … which is a verra good reason for Outlander's Sam Heughan to make a guest appearance or two, aye? Speaking of characters who appear in both of Gabaldon's fiction streams, a Lord John spinoff would give us more time with the deliciously wicked Geillis Duncan, with whom Grey has a very interesting conversation in Lord John and the Plague of Zombies. Meanwhile, Percy Wainwright — the mysterious man whom the Starz series introduced in Season 7 — makes his debut in a Lord John novella and later shows up in the Outlander novels; he'd be another easy crossover character. Outlander fans cause frenzy with wild theories about final episode

Fans really got tongues wagging in the comments section of Outlander's latest post. We don't know about any other Outlander fans but we are counting down the days until prequel Blood of My Blood airs to finally get our Scottish time-travelling fix after a long 'Droughtlander'. Despite the last ever series of Outlander having already been filmed, a release day has yet to be announced. However, to give us all something to talk about for now, the official Outlander Instagram page asked fans for their input on their craziest show theories and characters they 'hate to love'. ‌ They posted: "I'm bored. Comment your hottest Outlander take. I'm not talking about "Jamie is better than Frank", I'm talking your unhinged theories, characters you hate to love, the craziest thing you'd do for Outlander." ‌ And thousands of fans flocked to the comments to discuss some 'Outlandish' theories. The first comment really got some talking about the relationship between Claire Fraser and her son-in-law Roger MacKenzie, they said: "I think the book Roger definitely has a crush on Claire." To this comment, one replied: "Now this is a hot take." Richard Rankin, who plays Roger in the show, also replied to the comment, saying: "I think the TV does too tbh." One said: "Always thought he was just so in awe of her!" ‌ Another comment had many fans shook, which discussed the 'forget me not' flowers that Claire was picking when she first accidentally went through the stone. The fan wrote: "I believe Jamie planted the forget me nots by the stones to ensure Claire would come back to him from the future." A fan replied: " What?? That's amazing!!! I love that take!" Another said: "I have always had the same theory! Great minds!" ‌ While on disagreed and shared their theory, they said: "I think Frank did. In the book he actually places a tombstone/memorial for Jamie so Claire can find it." Talk then turned to one of the most memorable scenes in Outlander, back in season one when Claire is being watched through the window at her B&B by a Highlander in a kilt in Inverness - believed to be Jamie's 'ghost'. In that first episode, Frank Randall spotted the mystery man watching his wife get undressed at the window of her hotel room. As he went to confront the man, he disappeared. ‌ Discussing the moment that has remained a mystery for years, one fan wrote: "Jamie's ghost is waiting for Claire on Samhain every year until she dies and when she dies, she comes to Jamie at the statue in Inverness where he has waited patiently and she is young and he is young and they embrace and walk away up into the highlands of Scotland and fade into the mist. The end. We got the 'happily' all through 8 seasons and the last scene is the 'ever after'. Other fans loved this theory. As one penned: "this give Titanic vibes! I love it!!!" Outlander fans were asked the craziest thing they've ever done in the name of the show and they did not disappoint with their answers. Outlander fans have been sharing their most wild theories about the show and some have our jaws on the floor. The first series of the prequel Blood of my Blood is set to air this summer and the last series of Outlander has already been been filmed, but there is no release date at the moment. To keep fans entertained during the current 'Droughtlander' the official page on Instagram asked fans for their input on their craziest show theories and the comments section definitely requires some popcorn. ‌ The post read: "I'm bored. Comment your hottest Outlander take. I'm not talking about "Jamie is better than Frank", I'm talking your unhinged theories, characters you hate to love, the craziest thing you'd do for Outlander." ‌ Fans who opted to talk about the craziest thing they'd do for Outlander certainly did not disappoint. One wrote: "Craziest thing I'd do for outlander? WELL, seeing as how I moved to Scotland, opened a tour company because of Outlander, got married last week at J&C's same location to a Scotsman.. yeah no I'm not unhinged at all." While one said: "I travelled to Scotland by myself to see the filming locations. That's the craziest thing I have ever done for a tv show", another said: "I travelled halfway across the world all by myself to visit Scotland!" Another commented that they made friends due to the show: "Travelled to meet up and stay with friends I'd only ever known online—just so we could fangirl together at Outlander events! No regrets, just epic memories" ‌ One fan even said that she named her son after Jamie, she said: "I don't consider it unhinged by my 2nd son is named James Alexander Malcolm." Another fan even said it inspired her to learn Gaelic: "I started studying Scottish Gaelic after hearing the characters in the series speak it." While one admitted:"I waited in line for 26 hours when Sam did his whisky tour this past February and I was first in line. I still dont think anyone had me beat. Yes you heard that right. 26 hours, all because Outlander made me fall in love with a character and the man who plays him." ‌ Outlander has gathered fans from all across the globe with many making the trip to Scotland to see the show filming locations in person. Earlier this year, data from the Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions (ASVA) and Glasgow Caledonian University's Moffat Centre revealed that the Outlander effect played a key role in boosting visitor numbers, particularly at sites linked to the show. ‌ The Culloden Visitor Centre, which features prominently in the series, recorded a 42.8 percent increase, drawing 374,443 visitors. Other major attractions also saw substantial growth, with Stirling Castle experiencing a 14.8 percent rise to 594,938 visitors, while St Giles' Cathedral, which featured in Avengers: Infinity War, Frankenstein and Fast & Furious 9, welcomed 1,742,147 people, an 18.3 percent increase. Outlander boss makes surprising admission about heartbreaking Jamie Fraser and Faith scene

Outlander fans may have missed this scene As the Droughtlander rages on, Outlander fans are going back to the show from the beginning. Season seven concluded on the bombshell confirming that Faith Fraser somehow survived after Master Raymond (played by Dominique Pinon) spirited her away and revived her in another time, reports the Express. ‌ Outlander author Diana Gabaldon has confirmed the show will be following an alternate timeline to her novels from here on out, so there will be much focus on Faith. ‌ However, fans may have missed a poignant moment back in season two between Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and Faith that almost didn't make the final cut. The sequence saw Jamie and Claire Fraser (Caitríona Balfe) share an intimate moment, with the Highlander stroking his wife's baby bump and talking to it. They also joked about whether the infant would be a girl or a boy. Sadly, this would be the only moment Jamie and Faith shared together before the baby was stillborn later on in the season. ‌ While Claire would get to say goodbye to Faith, Jamie didn't have the chance as he was locked up in the Bastille for his illegal duel with Captain 'Black Jack' Randall (Tobias Menzies). Claire and Jamie did have a moment in season two in the L'Hôpital des Anges cemetery, where Faith was buried. ‌ Previously speaking on the Outlander podcast, executive producer Ronald D. Moore and writer Matthew B. Roberts broke down the scene. Roberts said: 'Now, this scene was added. I'd written the entire script and this scene was added late in the game, so to speak. 'And, to me, it's the most important moment in the script because of what's coming.' ‌ Moore explained: 'I think I was initially opposed to this scene because I thought it broke the mood of the aftermath of confrontation and the argument about Jack Randall. 'But I think what swayed me to now seeing it as a really important beat in the story, is that you do have to reconnect before you break them apart.' ‌ Adding: 'And if you're not reconnected in this story and they were apart through this whole thing, then the ending of the show would be a little less shattering.' Roberts went on to say: 'Exactly. And this is the moment they were a family, when he talked to his baby. When they were playful. 'He says 'he', she says 'she'. Because in his time, a he is very important and in her time… I mean, is Claire a feminist? I don't know, I'm not going to say. But it was important.'
