Panchkula police destroys drugs worth Rs 1.53 crore

The Panchkula police has destroyed narcotics worth approximately Rs 1.53 crore in accordance with the NDPS Act. The destruction process took place at a modern incinerator facility located in the hygienic factory area of Bagwala, Panchkula, ensuring full transparency and adherence to legal protocols. The drug disposal was carried out by a dedicated Drug Disposal Committee headed by Commissioner Sibash Kabiraj following the requisite judicial approvals. The entire process was conducted under strict supervision to ensure it was lawful and secure. DCP Srishti Gupta, ACP Vikram Nehra and Inspector Sukhbir Singh from Raipur Rani police station, among other officers, were present during the disposal. The substances were seized in 48 separate cases over time and had an estimated market value of Rs 1,53,29,570. During the event, DCP Srishti Gupta too interacted with local residents of Bagwala and sought feedback on the drug situation in their area. She urged citizens to report any information related to drug trafficking or illegal narcotics activities directly to the police. She also assured the public that those struggling with addiction would be provided access to treatment, rehabilitation, and counselling services. 'This is not just the police's battle — it's a collective fight in which every citizen's participation is crucial,' she said. Commissioner Sibash Kabiraj called the initiative a significant step in the fight against drug abuse. He reaffirmed that the Panchkula police remains fully committed to continuing strict, transparent, and sensitive action against narcotics. 'Drugs are eating away at the fabric of society. Eliminating them requires a united front involving the administration, community, and each citizen,' he stated.

About 133.8 kg of ganja seized in several cases registered across various police stations within the Karimnagar Police Commissionerate limits was destroyed at the incineration facility at Edulagattepalli village in Manakondur mandal on Wednesday. According to a press release, the ganja was incinerated under the supervision of Karimnagar Police Commissioner Gaush Alam. The contraband was destroyed under the aegis of the Drug Disposal Committee in compliance with the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Narcotic substances worth ₹19.8 lakh seized by the Mysuru city police were destroyed in the presence of officials at an incinerator in Gujjegowdanapura on outskirts of Mysuru on Wednesday. A statement from the Mysuru city police said the narcotic substances had been seized by various police stations in Mysuru city under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and permitted to be destroyed by the court. A total of 53 kg and 550 grams of ganja seized in 10 different cases of the NDPS Act and 150 grams of charas (hashish) recovered in one case were destroyed at the incinerator of Ms GIPS Bio Tech in Gujjegowdanapura village in Jayapura hobli in Mysuru Taluk. The destruction was carried out following legal procedures without causing any environmental pollution. Chairman of the Mysuru city Drug Disposal Committee and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic) K.S. Sundar Raj, Assistant Commissioner of Police Mohammed Shariff Ravuthar, and police inspector Mushtaq Pasha were present on the occasion.
