So much so, the bargain retailer has been forced to place a shopping limit on the exotic treat. That means you can slather it on toast, pile it onto pancakes, dip fruit in it or even spoon it from the jar. The sweet and salty pots cost £4.99 or £3.99 for Lidl Plus members, which is far more expensive than the store's other chocolate spreads. However, the price tag is not deterring customers, and the shop has implemented a strict three-jar-only policy. One shared a snap of the toast topping on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group. Followers flocked to the comment section to tag friends and family in the post. Lidl has said it will be available "while stocks last" - so you may want to get in quick. When Lidl launched its Dubai-style chocolate bar back in March, shoppers were queuing outside shops to get a taste. The Sun spotted a queue outside the Gosport, Hampshire, store at 8am with shoppers eagerly waiting for the doors to open. Chocolate fans have been going crazy for supermarket dupes of the expensive Dubai chocolate bars and they've been going viral on social media. Lidl's version was the cheapest when it was brought out at £3.99. Foodies race to buy new Dubai chocolate Easter egg in popular supermarket - the 'filling is crazy' and it's selling FAST Before it arrived in stores, the chocolate bar had been available on Lidl's TikTok Shop. It wasn't around for long though as it sold out in a mere 84 minutes. Numerous supermarkets and bargain stores have been jumping on the Dubai-style chocolate trend. One of the most-anticipated was the M&S version, which it turned out was a new take on the viral Big Daddy chocolate bar. The Big Daddy Pistachio is on the pricier end, costing £8.50 for a big 280g bar. Similarly posh supermarket Waitrose also released a version for £10. Despite the price, it was so popular the retailer had to impose a two-bar limit on shoppers. Sainsbury's started selling a Lindt version of the Dubai-style chocolate for £10. Iceland is selling two different bars: the Nelino Dubai-Style Chocolate (£2 for 62g) and Bolci Dubai Chocolate (£5 for 100g). Bolci's Turkish-made treat is also available at Morrisons. Meanwhile Home Bargains is selling Dubai Chocolate Cookies for the bargain price of £1.25.

Trader Joe's latest viral treat sold out in a day, here's when it's back
You've got to hand it to Trader Joe's. The grocery retailer knows how to launch new products and get us all to make a fuss about it. Most people shop at Trader Joe's because of their budget-friendly prices on everything from unique snacks and fresh flowers to staples like eggs and milk. But several times a year, Trader Joe's seems to hit it out of the park with new products, releasing items that people go crazy for. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter Just this year, there was the mini canvas tote bag, which people literally lined up before dawn to get their hands on. The coveted bags were available for about one minute in special-edition pastel shades of blue, pink, purple, and green. The Cashel Blue Cheese Irish Potato Chips have been such a sensation that they earned the title of Trader Joe's #1 new product for the company's 16th Annual Customer Choice Awards. Then in the middle of May, Trader Joe's released a Dubai Chocolate Bar, and people lost their minds. I happen to live in a small-ish city, but we have four Trader Joe's locations here, and I called all of them, hoping to get my hands on the viral snack. No luck. Yes, Costco also has these chocolate bars, but sometimes going to Costco is just a whole thing. Image source: Elliott Cowand Jr/Shutterstock Originally crafted by Dubai-based Fix Dessert Chocolatier and popularized on TikTok in late 2023, the "Can't Get Knafeh of It" bar gained global attention for its unique combination of flavors and textures. So it's no wonder that when Trader Joe's "Dubai Style" pistachio cream and kataifi-filled treats hit the shelves on May 26, they were pretty much gone within a day. By the way, Kataifi is shredded phyllo dough that creates a crispy texture in a sweet cookie-like bar. Think of the Dubai-style dark chocolate bar as a super-elevated Twix. Related: Trader Joe's rivals could learn a lesson from the cult favorite company The Trader Joe's rendition, produced by Turkish chocolatier Patislove, offers a similar taste to the Fix Dessert Chocolatier goodie at a fraction of the cost, making it accessible to a wider audience, per usual for Trader Joe's. Of course, people who know and love Trader Joe's are loyal partly because of its commitment to low prices, and the Dubai chocolate bar was no exception. At just $3.99 for a 3.5-ounce bar, the Trader Joe's nibble was a bargain compared to Costco's Fiorella Dubai chocolate, which will cost $44.99 for three 7-oz. bars. The Fix Dessert Chocolatier version will set you back $150 plus shipping for a box of six. Trader Joe's uses the launch of new products like the Dubai Style chocolate bar as a sort of market test on the fly, giving customers the chance to vote with their wallets. If customers love a product enough that it sells out, and they ask for a restock, the company is likely to respond by bringing it back. Some products - including the Chili & Lime Flavored Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips and the Step up to the Snack Bar Mix - get so popular that they become available year-round. The Dubai Style chocolate bar should be back in stock around June 10, according to my local Trader Joe's. And who knows, if enough customers clamor for it, it just might become a permanent item. ‘Absolutely perfect': Viral choccy lands in Aus
A household name chocolate brand has finally released its own version of a viral sweet treat in Australia – and foodie influencers have weighed in. Lindt released its Dubai Style Chocolate this week, a tribute to the beloved recipe created by Fix Dessert Chocolatier Sarah Hamouda. Ms Hamouda initially created the indulgent treat, which features a large milk chocolate shell with pistachio cream and shredded Kadayif pastry inside, in 2021. But it wasn't until a social media post two years later that it went viral. Lindt's version, which is sold only in its stores, features 45 per cent pistachio filling, Kadayif pastry, nut brittle and milk chocolate. It retails for $20. It's nowhere near as chunky as the version popularised by Ms Hamouda's recipe. Popular food content creator Nectorious Papi was one of the first to try it, saying for him it was perfect because of how thin it is. 'It's not as thick as the other ones you've been seeing online,' he told his followers. 'It's the perfect balance between the milk chocolate and the pistachio, because I feel like the other ones can be a little bit sickening. This one is absolutely perfect.' TikTok creator @forevavictoria said she went to her local Lindt store first thing as she anticipated a long line up for the sweet treat. After digging in, she said it didn't really taste how she thought it would. 'The fact that I was craving this for so long and I feel like it doesn't taste how I imagined it to taste,' she told her followers. 'It's a bit disappointing. It's not bad but I wouldn't buy it again for $20.' Last month, a report revealed pistachio kernel prices surged from $12 a pound (almost half a kilo) a year ago to around $16 a pound, according to Giles Hacking of global nut trader CG Hacking. 'The pistachio world is basically tapped out at the moment,' he told the Financial Times. Thankfully, while many countries have been affected by the shortage, Australian supply has largely remained unaffected. Coles said it had a 'great supply of pistachios available' to cope with the growing demand from customers. 'We have seen a noticeable trend in customers seeking pistachio-flavoured food items, and we are committed to offering a wide range of products in this flavour for everyone to enjoy,' a spokesperson told Woolworths also said it had been unaffected by the shortage.
