Louth trio awarded significant roles in Athletics Ireland
Georgina Drumm (St Peter's AC) was honoured for her long years of service in multiple roles at the highest level of Irish sport by being appointed a Life Vice President. But this in no way means that Georgina is about to rest on her laurels! On the contrary, a busy two years await her as she was also elected as Chair of Athletics Ireland's Competition Committee.
Fintan Reilly (Dunleer AC), who very successfully chaired the High Performance Committee in recent years - a period of renewed success for Irish athletes at the very top level after some quiet years, - moves to chair the Finance and Risk Committee. In addition, he will serve as a Vice President of Athletics Ireland for the first time.
Deirdre McTeggart (Boyne AC) was elected to serve on the Juvenile Committee for the next two years. Deirdre has been a long-time contributor as an administrator and official at both local and national level, but this will be her first time to be a member of an Athletics Ireland committee.
Others from County Louth who attended the Congress as delegates included Dermot Barry (Glenmore AC), Kathleen McConnell (St Peter's AC), Catherine Muckian (Dundealgan AC) and Micheal Mulligan (Dunleer AC).
