Cyclist succumbs to injuries after collision

The collision occurred between a cyclist and passenger vehicle on Wednesday at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Shackleton Line between Willey Road and McArthur Street. The injured cyclist was transported to the hospital, while the driver of the vehicle was uninjured. The vehicle driver remained on scene, and police continue to investigate.

Life-threatening-injuries for cyclist

Around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, emergency services were called to the Municipality of Dutton-Dunwich for a crash between a vehicle and a bike on Shackleton Line between Willey Rd and McArthur Street. A 62-year-old woman from Dutton Dunwich was transported by EMS to hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver of the motor vehicle was uninjured. Elgin OPP continue to investigate the collision with the assistance of the Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team. Shackleton Line was closed for several hours but has since reopened.

Fire under investigation in West Lorne
Multiple crews responded to the fire at SimTech Supply Management in West Lorne. A fire that happened over the weekend in a West Elgin storage facility is under investigation after multiple crews responded to a blaze. The fire broke out on the roof of SimTech Supply Chain Management in West Lorne. 'There was black smoke visible from a distance away. Firefighters were quickly able to knock down the flames,' said Jeff MacArthur, fire chief. West Elgin, Central Elgin and Dutton-Dunwich Fire set up hoses around the perimeter and used an aerial ladder truck to fight the fire.
