Notre Dame makes offer to wide receiver/cornerback Duvay Williams

The Fighting Irish could use Williams' ability to play more than one position Duvay Williams has received an offer from Notre Dame. The cornerback/wide receiver is class of 2027 out of Junipero Sierra in Gardena, Ca. and he stands six-foot-two and weighs 170 pounds. He's been a Polynesian Bowl All-American. He's also a five-star recruit. Notre Dame has been recruiting hard this offseason, with some exciting commitments. A run to the national championship game will do that. And while this is just an offer, not a commitment, the Irish could probably use a player with two-way skills like Williams. He could either bolster the passing game -- which probably does need bolstering -- or be a part of a defense that has been lockdown of late. We'll see what he chooses. Nation's No. 1 CB Reveals His Top School Ahead Of Key Recruiting Visits

Five-star cornerback Duvay Williams has one college football program at the top of his list as he prepares to take multiple visits over the summer. Williams (6-foot-1, 165 pounds) plays for Junipero Serra High School in Gardena, California. As a sophomore in 2024, he totaled 47 tackles, 16 pass breakups with an interception on defense while adding 12 catches for 196 yards as a receiver (MaxPreps). Advertisement The highly-coveted recruit is rated as the No. 1 cornerback, the No. 1 player in the state and the No. 3 overall player in the class of 2027, per Rivals. Williams, who already holds 33 scholarship offers entering his junior year, unofficially visited multiple programs this spring, including Miami, Texas A&M, UCLA and USC. And it appears that head coach Lincoln Riley's Trojans made a significant impression, as Williams named home-state USC as the leader, according to On3's Chad Simmons. The Trojans are 'without a question' the top program in Williams' recruitment, he said via On3. USC Trojans head coach Lincoln Kamin-Oncea-Imagn Images Williams also plans to take trips to Michigan, Ohio State, Georgia, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Auburn, and Florida State over the next few months. Those will be unofficial visits given his status as a class of 2027 recruit. Advertisement It's not a surprise to see USC trending in the right direction for Williams. Riley and Co. currently hold the top class in the 2026 cycle, and 16 of those 28 commits hail from the state of California. 'I like how they do things with their players on and off the field,' Williams said via On3. 'Education is important to me and USC is one of the top academic schools in the country. Then, USC is USC. All the legends go there. It's right in my backyard, so why not?'
