NFL announces 2 teams for 2025 Hall of Fame Game
NFL announces 2 teams for 2025 Hall of Fame Game The Denver Broncos will not have an extra preseason game this summer. The league announced Wednesday that the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Chargers will kick off the 2025 preseason slate in the NFL's Hall of Fame Game in July. The Hall of Fame game will be played at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton on Thursday, July 31 at 8 p.m. ET (6 p.m. MT). The Chargers made sense as a team for this year's Hall of Fame game as tight end Antonio Gates is a member of the 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame class. The Lions' most recent Hall of Fame inductees were pass rusher Dwight Freeney (2024) and wide receiver Calvin Johnson (2021). L.A. and Detroit are now set to play four preseason games this summer while the NFL's 30 other clubs (including the Broncos) play three games. Denver's preseason schedule will be announced later this spring. The Broncos are expected to host the Arizona Cardinals and face the San Francisco 49ers on the road during preseason. Colts' Hall of Famer joins Syracuse Football program
Colts' Hall of Famer joins Syracuse Football program A Colts' Hall of Famer is joining the Syracuse Football program. Indianapolis Colts' Hall of Fame defensive end Dwight Freeney is heading to the college level to join the Syracuse Football program. Syracuse announced on Friday that Freeney will be leading the Player Development program. "The time is now," Freeney said in a statement via ESPN. "I think that Syracuse has a lot of good things going. A great foundation and I think they need a push to be able to maintain and exceed that -- that is what I hope I'm able to do. My schedule is now a lot freer than it has been in years past, so I'll be able to help however is needed and in whatever way I can." Freeney is a Syracuse alum, where from 1998 to 2001, he recorded 34 sacks, was an All-American, and was the 2001 Big East Defensive Player of the Year as well. The Colts would select Freeney in the first round of the 2002 NFL draft. Freeney would play 16 NFL seasons, 11 of which were with the Colts, which included winning a Super Bowl. Freeney finished his career with 125.5 sacks. He was a seven-time Pro Bowler, a three-time All-Pro, and was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2024. He also had his No. 54 retired at Syracuse last year as well.

2025 NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees include Jared Allen, Antonio Gates
This year's NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame class only featured four former players, a bit of a surprise considering how big last year's class was. However, these four players are icons in the game, from one of the best tight ends to ever play the game to one of the most ferocious pass-rushers ever to sack opposing quarterbacks. The honorees were unveiled during Thursday night's NFL Honors ceremony in New Orleans. While there were no quarterbacks inducted in this year's class, these four players were very deserving to have themselves enshrined in Canton among the game's best talents. Let's look at this year's Pro Football Hall of Fame class and recall last year's class while we're at it, too.
