Experience was key to Kerry's success
Kerry captain Gavin White felt his team's big-game experience was a factor in their flying start to Sunday's 1-26 to 0-19 All-Ireland Football final victory over Donegal. The Kingdom flew out of the traps and had laid the foundations when leading by eight points after 15 minutes as they attacked the Ulster champions in waves. White made an immediate impact when sprinting on to a loose ball from a throw-in and feeding Dylan Geaney for a score which set the the tone. The Dr Croke's clubman contributed three points in a man-of-the-match performance as Kerry banished the memories of their 2023 final defeat by Dublin to secure title number 39 for the county. "I think we went out in the first 15 minutes to make our experience count and made an unbelievable start," he told the GAA Social Live, after the final whistle. "You want to get your hands on the ball as soon as you can It was an ambition to set the tempo from get-go and that started with the throw-in." Kerry's dominance around the middle was also crucial to their win as they were sharp to the breaks and won the kick-out battle. With the new rules of Gaelic football taking hold this year, restarts have proven to be a crucial area with goalkeepers going long more often. This was an area where Kerry struggled in their group stage defeat by Meath, but improved upon greatly in the games since. "If you can win your share of breaking ball, you'll have most of the possession and more attacks," White said. "That's something we've looked at the last couple of days because against Meath in Tullamore, we were wiped out." White was speaking just minutes after lifting Sam Maguire on behalf of his county and admitted he was "very emotional". The half-back was captain in 2019 when Kerry lost in the final to Dublin after a replay, so it was a special moment for the Killarney man but one he felt could have been filled by a number of players who he praised for their leadership. "You could put an armband on anyone out there as there are serious leaders - it's difficult to put it into words," he added. "To captain an All-Ireland team is highly special and I'm not sure it will sink in for a number of days. Maybe one day when I hang up the boots, I may only then look back at the magnitude of it. I'm incredibly proud of the boys."

Kerry name unchanged side to take on Donegal in All-Ireland final
Kerry have made no changes to the team that beat Tyrone as they have named their side to start in Sunday's All-Ireland Football final against Donegal. Jack O'Connor has opted to retain Dylan Geaney in the full forward line, while Joe O'Connor has been named at wing forward. The Austin Stacks man has been a revelation in the middle of the field this season, although Kerry management are known to admire his quality at the wing forward position. Mark O'Shea and Sean O'Brien get the nod in the middle. The back six remains the same: Paul Murphy, Jason Foley, and Dylan Casey make up the back line, while Brian O Beaglaoich, Mike Breen, and captain Gavin White are in the half-back line. Diarmuid O'Connor comes into the matchday 26 in place of Armin Heinrich in the only change to the panel. Kerry: Shane Ryan, Paul Murphy, Jason Foley, Dylan Casey, Brian Ó Beaglaoich, Mike Breen, Gavin White, Seán O'Brien, Mark O'Shea, Joe O'Connor, Seán O'Shea, Graham O'Sullivan, David Clifford, Paudie Clifford, Dylan Geaney Replacements: Shane Murphy, Killian Spillane, Evan Looney, Tom Leo O'Sullivan, Tadhg Morley, Paul Geaney, Mícheál Burns, Tony Brosnan, Armin Heinrich, Tomás Kennedy, Diarmuid O'Connor, Conor Geaney, Dara Moynihan

Kerry make five changes to team to face Meath in final All-Ireland SFC Group 2 game
It was well known that Paudie Clifford, Paul Geaney, Barry Dan O'Sullivan and Diarmuid O'Connor would not be available for this game, with all four receiving treatment for specific injuries, and none of that quartet are included in the match day squad to face the Royal county in O'Connor Park. Clifford, Geaney and O'Sullivan all started the game against Cork but none of them played into the second half, while O'Connor wasn't part of the squad in Pairc Uí Chaoimh, with a groin injury given as the reason for his absence. There are two other changes for Saturday's encounter with Meath, with Dylan Casey and Brian Ó Beaglaoich not retaining their starting places in defence, and they are replaced by Paul Murphy and Tadhg Morley respectively. Casey is named among the substitutes, which suggests his dropping to the bench is tactical, but Ó Beaglaoich is not on the named squad, which could indicate an injury issue. Dara Moynihan is also named on the match day squad for the first time this year. The Spa club man hasn't played with Kerry since last year's All-Ireland semi-final loss to Armagh, having spent the best part of the last year rehabbing a serious injury. As expected, Mark O'Shea comes into at midfield for Barry Dan O'Sullivan, whose knee injury is a serious one, and threatening to end his involvement for the result of the season. Killian Spillane and Dylan Geaney are also handed starts in place of Paudie Clifford and Paul Geaney, with some positional shuffling in the forward unit. Micheal Burns moves back out to the half forward line alongside Graham O'Sullivan and Sean O'Shea, who takes the no.11 jersey. Spillane is named at full forward, in a direct switch for Paul Geaney, whom he replaced at half time against Cork. Dylan Geaney is recalled to the starting 15 in place, and will start in one corner, with David Clifford in the other. A win or a draw for Kerry will secure top spot in Group 2 and send the Kingdom straight to the All-Ireland quarter-finals a fortnight later. A win for Meath would see them finish top of the group and consign Kerry to a preliminary quarter-final with home advantage as second place finishers.
