Experience was key to Kerry's success
The Kingdom flew out of the traps and had laid the foundations when leading by eight points after 15 minutes as they attacked the Ulster champions in waves.
White made an immediate impact when sprinting on to a loose ball from a throw-in and feeding Dylan Geaney for a score which set the the tone.
The Dr Croke's clubman contributed three points in a man-of-the-match performance as Kerry banished the memories of their 2023 final defeat by Dublin to secure title number 39 for the county.
"I think we went out in the first 15 minutes to make our experience count and made an unbelievable start," he told the GAA Social Live, after the final whistle.
"You want to get your hands on the ball as soon as you can It was an ambition to set the tempo from get-go and that started with the throw-in."
Kerry's dominance around the middle was also crucial to their win as they were sharp to the breaks and won the kick-out battle.
With the new rules of Gaelic football taking hold this year, restarts have proven to be a crucial area with goalkeepers going long more often.
This was an area where Kerry struggled in their group stage defeat by Meath, but improved upon greatly in the games since.
"If you can win your share of breaking ball, you'll have most of the possession and more attacks," White said.
"That's something we've looked at the last couple of days because against Meath in Tullamore, we were wiped out."
White was speaking just minutes after lifting Sam Maguire on behalf of his county and admitted he was "very emotional".
The half-back was captain in 2019 when Kerry lost in the final to Dublin after a replay, so it was a special moment for the Killarney man but one he felt could have been filled by a number of players who he praised for their leadership.
"You could put an armband on anyone out there as there are serious leaders - it's difficult to put it into words," he added.
"To captain an All-Ireland team is highly special and I'm not sure it will sink in for a number of days. Maybe one day when I hang up the boots, I may only then look back at the magnitude of it. I'm incredibly proud of the boys."

College football Top 25: Will No. 9 Alabama bounce back after missing CFP in Kalen DeBoer's first year?
College football officially begins this month. Now that it's August, there are less than three weeks until Kansas State and Iowa State meet in Dublin to begin the 2025 regular season. And since the season is quickly approaching, we're rolling out our preseason Top 25. Next up in our rankings is the No. 9 team, and the rest will be revealed in the coming days. (All odds are from BetMGM.) Previously: Nos. 11 through 25, No. 10 Miami No. 9 Alabama 2024 record: 9-4 2025 national championship odds: 12-1 Odds to make College Football Playoff: -185 2024 in 100 words Alabama was not a consistent football team in 2024. The Crimson Tide demolished Wisconsin on the road and then followed that up with one of the best halves of football anyone played all season in a 41-34 home win over Georgia. From there, things got odd. Alabama lost at Vanderbilt, hung on to beat South Carolina at home by two and then lost at Tennessee. The Tide smashed Missouri and LSU in Tuscaloosa to get back in the playoff mix … and then promptly lost 24-3 to Oklahoma. Oh, and then they lost the ReliaQuest Bowl to Michigan. The quarterback Ty Simpson Simpson hasn't officially been declared the starter for Week 1, but all signs point to him taking the opening snap against Florida State. Coach Kalen DeBoer has repeatedly said that Simpson is the frontrunner for the job and he's the QB with the most experience on the Alabama roster. Simpson spent the past two seasons as Jalen Milroe's backup and is working with his third offensive coordinator in three seasons. Tommy Rees was Alabama's coordinator in 2023 and Nick Sheridan called plays in 2024 during DeBoer's first season. Now, Ryan Grubb is back on DeBoer's staff. Grubb was the coordinator for Washington as the Huskies made the College Football Playoff in 2023 with a dynamic passing offense. He became the Seattle Seahawks' offensive coordinator after that season, but spent just one year in the NFL before rejoining DeBoer. Don't expect Simpson to put up numbers like Michael Penix Jr. did in 2023, but Alabama's passing offense could be one of the SEC's best. Non-QB to watch WR Ryan Williams Williams is again going to be a big part of the Alabama passing game. In almost any other year, Williams would have been the best freshman wide receiver in college football. Alas, Jeremiah Smith exists. Williams had 48 catches for 865 yards and eight scores in 2024. Many of those receptions were highlight-reel grabs, including his 75-yard TD catch to get Alabama the win over Georgia late in the fourth quarter. Opposing defenses were able to slow Williams down some in the second half of the season, however. After scoring six touchdowns in Alabama's first five games, he had just two the rest of the season. And after he had three catches for 82 yards in that loss to Vanderbilt, Williams never had more than 73 yards in a single game the rest of the season. He shouldn't have that type of a slump again in 2025. Best position group Linebackers Finding more pass rush is key for Alabama in 2025. The Crimson Tide had just 25 sacks last season; Alabama hadn't had fewer than 32 sacks in any of the previous six seasons. With Jihaad Campbell and Quandarrius Robinson (nine sacks combined in 2024) no longer on the roster, getting pass rushers to step up is imperative. The good news is that Alabama has a lot of talent at both linebacker and on the defensive line. Deontae Lawson returns after he was the team's second-leading tackler along with Justin Jefferson and Qua Russaw. Russaw could make a big leap after 36 tackles, a sack and two interceptions as a true freshman in 2024. Alabama also added Nikhai Hill-Green from Colorado in the offseason and edge rusher Kelby Collins from Florida. Hill-Green had 82 tackles for the Buffaloes in 2024. Biggest game Sept. 27 at Georgia Both teams enter their late September clash off bye weeks as they'll have plenty of time to prepare for familiar opponents. Each team should also be 3-0, though Georgia visits Tennessee in Week 3. That should be a good test for the Bulldogs. Alabama has also owned its series with Georgia recently, though much of that could be due to Nick Saban's brilliance. After Georgia won three straight games in 2002, 2003 and 2007 (Saban's first year), Alabama has won nine of the last 10 games against the Bulldogs. The only loss came in the national title game at the end of the 2021 season when Georgia beat Alabama, 33-18. The last two games between the schools have been thrillers. Georgia nearly pulled off an epic comeback a year ago in Tuscaloosa, and Alabama beat Georgia 27-24 for the SEC title (and a spot in the College Football Playoff) in 2023. Why Alabama is at No. 9 Alabama can't be one of the most penalized teams in college football for a second straight season, right? The Tide had 10 penalties in that win over Georgia, 15 penalties in their loss to Tennessee and just one SEC game with fewer than six penalties. Too many of those fouls were procedural on the offensive side of the ball too. Grubb's arrival could help clean that up. Even though Alabama added just 11 transfers — a small number for a contending power conference team — this is still a roster loaded with talent. The defense actually gave up fewer points (17.4) in 2024 than it had in any of the previous five seasons under Saban. The schedule includes games at South Carolina, Missouri and Auburn in addition to the trip to Athens and home matchups with Tennessee, LSU and Oklahoma. It's no cakewalk. But Alabama could and should be favored in every one of its non-Georgia games. A playoff trip should be in order this season. And if it isn't, DeBoer will be feeling even more pressure entering Year 3.

Irish League club predicted to end Gibson Cup drought by AI Supercomputer
It's that time of the year when pundits are making their predictions as to who will come out on top of the pile this season. Coleraine are the team many are plucking for to wrestle the Irish Premiership crown off Linfield given their recruitment following Henry Ross' hefty investment at The Showgrounds. It's 51 years since the Bannsiders lifted their one and only top flight title to date, but according to Pundit Arena they will be waiting a while longer with another club predicted to come out on top and end their own title drought. Pundit Arena provided the supercomputer with a list of all 12 teams in the league and adding how many summer signings each team have made and how many players they have lost so far. They also asked the supercomputer to predict the full league table including points, goal difference, matches won, matches lost, matches drawn and how many overall games they played. To make the supercomputer prediction as accurate as possible, they also provided it with extensive information about each club in the Irish Premiership, including their recent form and how they performed last season, who their manager is, their financial position and the general feeling from fans about the upcoming season. Based on all of these factors, the supercomputer predicted that Glentoran will win their first Gibson Cup since 2009, whilst Carrick Rangers will be the team relegated from the Irish Premiership come the end of the season. The supercomputer also predicted that Coleraine will come close to the title, finishing as runners-up ahead of defending champions Linfield. Whether AI's prediction comes anywhere close to be true remains to be seen however. Certainly the bookmakers have the reigning champions Linfield as their title favourites heading into the new campaign, which gets underway next Saturday, August 9. One thing is for sure however, there's certain to be plenty of twists and turns along the way.

Irish League sustainability the key for former star as investment continues to flood in
As clubs in the Irish Premiership continue to be an attractive proposition for outside investors, one former Irish League star has urged a note of caution. Gareth McAuley won the Irish Cup with Coleraine back in 2003 before going to have a stellar career in England. When he left the Bannsiders for Lincoln City they were in the midst of some severe financial problems which threatened the club's very existence. Other clubs have also received financial backing in recent years with the prospect of more to come, but the former Northern Ireland international McAuley says clubs need to be sustainable as well. "I think the League is in a bit of a transition stage at the minute when I look at it, there's nearly different levels," he said. "It's two-tier really, a league within a league, but the part-time clubs are still competitive in different things. "Everybody's obviously chasing the European spots and the pot of gold at the end of that. "There are investors coming in now and talking to a few people. They come in and they do all this analytic stuff. And they're going, well, 'if we spend X amount, we could get this amount in return'. "It's like a business to them. So where that goes and what happens with that there, I don't know. But I'd like to see them certainly being sustainable. I think that's important." In his role as Northern Ireland Under-19 boss McAuley is keen for young players to get the opportunity to shine here. He officially opened the 2025 Budget Energy SuperCupNI on Sunday evening and it brought back memories of his own participation in the tournament back in 1994. "A lot of things came flooding back when I started to think about it again," said McAuley. "Obviously 1994 was a few years ago now, but I still remember the boys that I played with in the team and I'm still in contact with quite a few of them. The biggest thing for me as a young player was, you're away from home, you're out of your comfort zone, you're playing in front of a crowd, probably for the first time, and you're playing in front of your peers and different teams. "It's also the first time probably playing under a bit of pressure and stuff. So all those things sort of came flowing back when I started to dig into it," he said. "In that development part of their life, not even in football, in their lives being away from their parents and being given that bit of freedom and stuff, and to stand on their own two feet and be with their peers. "Just being out of your comfort zone, it's great. We mollycoddle our kids now and really shelter them from things. "It's an experience for all the boys and girls to come and play in an environment with a growing reputation throughout the world now."
