Jodie Turner-Smith Jumps On Summer's Hottest Bob Trend
The bob - in all its many shapes, forms and never-ending trends - is undoubtedly the most coveted haircut of summer '25. As for the latest celebrity to co-sign the short, chin-length crop? Jodie Turner-Smith just debuted a sleek, flicked bob at Comic Con during the first leg of the Tron: Ares press tour. While the actor's character, Athena, has a bleached blonde buzzcut in the sci-fi action film, Turner-Smith opted for a jet-black crop for the press tour. Her new slicked-back bob fell just below the chin and was all natural; Turner-Smith forewent extensions altogether. Turner-Smith's new flicked bob was thanks to the work of hairstylist Coree Moreno, who described the bob as 'a chic effortless push back, with no extensions, just a soulful silk press'. The focus here was on her natural hair and using the right products to tend to her scalp and crown. '[We put] love and intention into treating and preparing her crown,' said Moreno. Moreno told ELLE UK that healthy hair and versatility were at the forefront of Turner-Smith's bob. 'Jodie, myself and the team agreed on something sleek and timeless with a bit of "Tron" edge,' he explains. For those after something similar, Moreno achieved the look 'by treating and fortifying the hair to prepare her natural curls.' Then, he slicked back the hair with wax and hair polish, 'to sculpt and mould the hair into shape.' Moreno employed a little-known trick called the 'invisible foundation technique,' which he describes as 'a hidden-modified half-up-half-down to keep structure and slick the silhouette from the front view.' After the foundation was constructed and the desired shape achieved using a flat iron, Moreno explained that he finished Turner-Smith's bob with a simple flip to help elevate the look. The actor paired her flicked-out crop with a snow white manicure courtesy of Ginger Lopez. Law Roach, stylist to the likes of Celine Dion and Zendaya, also dressed her in a two-toned white and blue Alaïa set, before the Tron star stepped out in a matching leather jacket and skirt for the evening. It's not the first time the actor has selected a flicked bob for the red carpet. Last June, she donned a bob with baby bangs and a perkier sixties-esque flip to promote her role in Star Wars: The Acolyte. Her then hairstylist, Ursula Stephen, was responsible for the coquette-ish crop. ELLE Collective is a new community of fashion, beauty and culture lovers. Hannah Hampton Pays Moving Tribute To Her Grandpa Whom She ‘Carried Through Every Minute'
As soon as the whistle went on extra time during the final of the Women's Euros 2025, goalkeeper Hannah Hampton went straight to the Lioness dugout to talk through the impending penalty shootout. While the rest of her team huddled, Hampton stood apart, taking instruction from the coaches and, with laser sharp focus, studying the penalty cheat sheet strapped to her arm. The rest is football history, with England's Lionesses beating reigning world champions Spain to retain their European title. Serena Wiegman's number one goalkeeper Hannah Hampton played a key part in their victory, saving two vital penalties, not to mention putting in an exceptional performance in the two-hour long game beforehand which finished 1-1. Shortly after the final, Hampton made a touching tribute to her grandpa who passed away just before the Euros started, missing her first ever major international tournament. 'You were one of my biggest supporters. You believed in me before I even knew what this journey would look like. You were always there – watching, encouraging, teaching. You taught me so much, not just about football but about life. About staying grounded, working hard, being resilient and doing things the right way,' she wrote on a social media post. After a record-making performance like Hampton's we could all learn something from her about how to keep our cool and be resilient. So how did she do it? Here's everything we know about how Hannah Hampton prepares to win:- Earlier this year Hannah Hampton, who won the WSL with Chelsea, told ELLE UK: 'I'm normally quite steady, but there have been moments this season where I had much more anxiety than I've ever experienced.' One way she assuages her nerves is by texting friends or asking Millie Bright (Chelsea Women's captain) to take her mind off the situation by telling her a funny story or getting her to dance. 'It shifts the focus to going out onto the pitch to enjoy playing like you did as a little girl.' As goalkeeper, travelling fans (who sit behind the goal) spend a lot of time staring at the back of Hannah Hampton's head. They also have a lot of opinions about how she does her hair, which is one of the things Hampton does take time over ahead of a game. 'I like it one way but the fans tell me to do it another way,' she told ELLE UK. 'At the beginning of the [WSL] season I had all my extensions in and to hide it I had to do it in a certain way so you couldn't really tell. And then when I got them taken out I changed my hairstyle to how I'd probably be a bit more comfortable with and the amount of fans who were like 'Bring back the old look'. I was like 'Sorry guys' so I started bringing it back.' Hannah Hampton gets her nails done every two weeks. Goalie gloves? Who cares. She's not a fan of broken or uneven nails so makes sure she gives her hands plenty of attention. 'As a keeper you have all the questions about how on earth you manage to keep your nails long but you know…we try our best,' she joked with ELLE UK in May. 'Loads of people have so many superstitions and you can see it, it's crazy,' she's said. Not her though. 'I'm more like 'whack your kit on and off you go'. I like taking as little time as I possibly can.' What does Hampton shout at her players when she's in goal? 'I don't want to make the saves so please can we tidy up a bit.' Or 'Stay a bit tighter and compact because I definitely do not want to be doing anything on the pitch'. For Hampton she'd prefer not to be making the high-diving saves: 'A lot of keepers probably want the glory or the camera shots, I'm the complete opposite. Just let me do absolutely nothing.' The one thing that keeps Hampton grounded when she's on the road with her team? 'I always have a hoody that I take with me that's one of my friends, so I take their hoody to every camp, and I always message them before going 'Can I take your hoody again?' And they're like, 'Yeah, of course'. But I think that's because it reminds me of my friends, having them with me when they can't be there…it's special.' Growing up in Spain Hampton took quickly to learning other languages and still does – before the Euros she was learning Italian with her teacher Paolo. She speaks two or three but would get by in more languages conversationally. 'I took every single player in the [Chelsea] team and got to know 'Hello, how are you?' – basic responses and basic conversation so every morning I can greet them in their language.' But the best thing about learning other languages? Being able to swear and not necessarily get caught. 'That's the best, I'm not going to lie. When cameras are recording or Sonia [Bompastor, Chelsea Women's manager]'s standing around and she's like 'Don't lose it, don't lose it' you can swear in Spanish and she doesn't have a clue what you're on about. Although Sonia does know Spanish so I can't really get away with that one…[it would] probably [have to be] German.' Hampton has joked that she can feel left out when she sees her teammates down the other end of the pitch celebrating a goal, but says timing is everything when it comes to celebrations: 'You don't want to go to early because the fans will give it straight back if you go and got to pick your moments for sure but you never know, hopefully I can score the last-minute winner. I'll go celebrate on my own!' It wasn't quite how things played out at the Euro 2025 Final, but it also wasn't that far off! ELLE Collective is a new community of fashion, beauty and culture lovers. 'A Huge Boost For The Game' Heroic Lionesses Bring Football Home Again And Change Women's Football Forever
And the Lionesses have done it again. England women's football team were crowned champions of Europe last night in Switzerland once more, winning against Spain in a nail-biting penalty shoot-out at the Women's Euros 2025. Sarina Wiegman's team put in their best performance of the tournament and in doing so retained the UEFA Women's Championship title they won in 2022 at Wembley. There was an electric atmosphere in Basel's St. Jakob-Park despite the summer rain. Both teams looked sharp and focused, but it was reigning world champions Spain who went in front with a header from Mariona Caldentey in the first half. The Lionesses fought back, defending their goal thanks to the resilience of Jess Carter and Lucy Bronze, and stellar saves from goalkeeper Hannah Hampton. Who knows what manager Wiegman said to the team at half time, but they came back with a goal in the 56th minute after a cross from Chloe Kelly and superb header from Alessia Russo. Tension filled the night as the game went to extra time with no more goals scored. And so, we may have only just recovered from those dramatic penalties against Sweden in the quarter finals, but the teams lined up for another shoot-out, this time in front of England's roaring travelling fans. Once more it was Hannah Hampton (who started this tournament as number one goalkeeper for the first time after Mary Earps' retirement) with her penalty 'cheat sheet' homework taped to her arm, who made the title-winning saves. Chloe Kelly put away the penalty that had the whole team running onto the pitch in victory. 'Sweet Caroline' never felt sweeter as the stadium erupted and fans couldn't quite believe what an amazing game it had been. Hampton was later named player of the match, with another new star Michelle Agyemang named best young player. There's no doubt that England's victory will be a boost for women's football, which has seen huge growth in the past decade. The sold-out final, with an attendance of 34,203, rounded off a hugely successful tournament which broke records as the highest-attended Women's Euros in history. Stats from sponsors VISA showed that it's not just viewing figures but also spending power that continues to make an impact and drive economic growth around the game, with the fans of first-time qualifiers Iceland showing the largest increase of overseas spend in Switzerland. As the women's game continues to grow globally it will only attract more and more investment at all levels ahead of the Women's World Cup in Brazil in 2027. When ELLE UK interviewed Hannah Hampton in May she said, 'We want to go and bring the trophy back home if we possibly it's going to be a tough tournament, we know the standard everyone's brought now and countries are just getting stronger and stronger so it'll be tough but we'll go give it our best shot.' They did just that and once more we're celebrating the Lionesses and everything the team show us about grit, determination and never giving up.

Al Pacino Once Turned Down The Stranger Things Actor Winona Ryder's Proposal; Here's Why
Al Pacino rejected Winona Ryder's proposal. She now dates Scott Mackinlay Hahn, whom she hopes to marry soon. Al Pacino once rejected Winona Ryder for being too young for him. The 85-year-old actor worked with the 53-year-old actress on the 2002 comedy Simone and while Winona believed she was 'actively in love with him" but he turned her down because of her age, only to go on to date someone younger than her. Finally, he's dropping me off wherever I'm staying, and I'm like, 'I love you, you know. I really am completely in love with you'. And he was like 'Aw, honey, noooo'.
