Sarah Jessica Parker Confirms Whether Samantha Will Make Another Cameo in 'And Just Like That'

And Just Like That... fans, listen up: Any rumors that Kim Cattrall might once again reprise her role as Samantha Jones in season 3 have been debunked by Sarah Jessica Parker herself. When asked by ELLE UK whether audiences could expect to see another Samantha cameo, Parker said, 'No, no, I don't think so. Not that we [Parker and showrunner Michael Patrick King] have ever discussed.' The confirmation follows reports that, following the success of her brief appearance in season 2, Cattrall had signed on to return as Samantha again this season. 'Since they've paved the way for Samantha to come back, it's assumed that they've done a deal with Kim and they're just waiting for the right time to announce it,' a source told Life & Style on July 10, 2024. 'The word is that she'll get to do all her scenes in London.' Although relations between Cattrall and Parker were allegedly strained, it was understood that the pair were willing to make it work for the sake of the show. But it turns out, that was just speculation. That doesn't mean things couldn't change, though. Back in 2022, before making her season 2 cameo, Cattrall told Variety that she was done with Sex and the City for good. 'It's a great wisdom to know when enough is enough,' she said. 'I also didn't want to compromise what the show was to me. The way forward seemed clear.' Perhaps there's still hope for another Samantha appearance in the future.

'The Handmaid's Tale': Yvonne Strahovski Understands You Want Serena Joy To Die - But She Doesn't

For nearly a decade, Yvonne Strahovski has portrayed the complex, morally grey Serena Joy in The Handmaid's Tale. And much like the entire fanbase, Strahovski herself has a complicated relationship with her character As the show's audience knows all too well, Serena has evolved from a high-strung advocate for Gilead to a deeply conflicted and broken woman who has suffered at the hands of the misogynistic and oppressive system that she has massively contributed towards. Yet, in between the Australian actor's hectic schedule, she sits down with ELLE UK and admits that she had no issue with the idea of her character Serena meeting an early end - and that it could've happened as early as the start of the final series. FIND OUT MORE AT ELLE COLLECTIVE 'There were definitely discussions about Serena being dealt a different ending,' Strahovski says. 'There was talk about her getting killed off at the start of season six.'In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, The Handmaid's Tale creator Bruce Miller revealed his original vision for the character. 'I wanted to kill her,' he confessed. 'Because I think she was such a horrible person and being dead on the side of the road completely anonymously [after she was pushed from the train during the first episode of the season finale] would have been a fitting end. I had to be convinced not to throw her off that train, along with the kid.' However, for Strahvoski, the idea of Serena dying in such a way, lost and nameless, felt unworthy of the character she'd spent years inhabiting. From an actor's perspective, she appreciated Serena being kept alive, however, the viewer inside of her could have easily lived with a more dramatic exit. 'Naturally, I am tied to her as a character. She's so multi-layered, and she's one of those characters that is the epitome of the grey area, due to how nuanced she is,' she explains. 'I think I would have been okay with her going out in some kind of tragic blaze of glory kind of way. It would have been fitting, and even satisfying for the inner audience member within me.' Yet, Strahovski's feelings on this aren't entirely black and white, just like the nature of the character that she plays. 'I don't think I would have been as okay with her just dropping dead, anonymously, in a ditch off the train,' she admits. 'That would have felt pretty anti-climactic after all that's happened with her over the seasons.' While Strahovski could envision a more action-filled exit for her contentious character, the decision to keep her character alive does, in many ways, offers Serena another possibility of redemption - a question that Strahvoski grapples with. Does Serena deserve that? 'I'm not sure that she does,' the actor answers. 'Deep down, Serena believes she's good and does good, even though she doesn't, she's a bit of a narcissist.' As the series draws closer to its finale for UK audiences, Strahvoski debates whether Serena's actions can ever be truly forgiven. 'It's such a two-sided experience, this forgiveness thing... I'm not sure she deserves it.' In more ways than one, Strahovski's relationship with Serena can, at times, mirror the audiences own feelings of frustration and tension towards such a conflicting character. Whether Serena does die a tragic death or is offered redemption from the other characters, one thing is certain - not even a woman in Serena's position is free of the horrors of Gilead. Will There Be A Season 4 Of ‘And Just Like That'? Sarah Jessica Parker Isn't So Sure

Happy And Just Like That... day to all who celebrate! Now that the inaugural episode of the third season has been released, there are questions aplenty for all who worship at the altar of our favourite Manhattanites: will Carrie and Aidan make it? Do we even want them to? Whatever is Miranda doing taking the virginity of a Nun (yes, really)? And will we ever get another Samantha Jones cameo? Yes, And Just Like That... is back in all of its cultural lightning rod glory. FIND OUT MORE ON ELLE COLLECTIVE The series was greenlit for a third outing in August 2023, but the fate of future seasons remains unclear as HBO hasn't officially confirmed that a fourth series is underway, but in interviews with ELLE UK, the cast of the spin-off remained optimistic. Here's everything you need to know about season four of And Just Like That... At the time of writing, a fourth season of And Just Like That... is yet to be confirmed, but HBO's precedent suggests that it may still be a possibility. The first season was marketed as a limited series, with its finale airing on February 3, 2022. Just weeks later, a second season was confirmed in March 2022, which eventually premiered on June 22, 2023 and, a few months later this time, in August 2023, the series was renewed for a third season which premiered on May 29, 2025. If this pattern is anything to go by, there's still time for a fourth season to be confirmed by the streaming service. Asked by ELLE UK on May 29, 2025 about a potential fourth season, Sarah Jessica Parker (who plays the titular Carrie Bradshaw) said that she doesn't know. 'We [her and Michael Patrick King, the show's creator] haven't had that conversation yet,' she said, adding that she always 'waits to hear.' 'We talk about what he feels is most compelling and does that exist for him and us, and then we decide that maybe we don't have this right now, or it's not enough,' she confessed. As for when Parker will know the time is right to hang up Carrie Bradshaw's Manolos once and for all, she told ELLE UK that that would be a 'complicated conversation' with King. 'That will come when Michael and I sit down and talk about what stories are demanding his time and attention and fantasies,' she said, noting that it will be a 'substantive conversation about "Well, what now?"' Not yet as the fourth season is yet to be confirmed, but as soon as the next series is confirmed and a trailer is released, this piece will be updated. 'She's Not The Most Graceful, But She's Relentless': Why Rachel Brosnahan Wanted To Play Superman's Lois Lane

Actor Rachel Brosnahan is no stranger to playing strong women — Midge Maisel in The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, Rachel Posner in House of Cards, Emily Donovan in The Courier. Now, the Golden Globe winner is adding one of ELLE's favourite comic book heroines to the list, as she takes on the role of Lois Lane in upcoming blockbuster Superman, starring alongside David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult. Brosnahan has a busy summer ahead of her, what with the film's world tour just around the corner. Though she still carved out time for a major fashion moment, heading to Rome this week for Dior's Cruise 2026 show, which was staged in the magical gardens of 18th century Villa Albani Torlonia. ELLE UK caught up with the actor to talk about her latest role, the style advice she swears by, and her go-to hotspots in Rome. I heard that Maria Grazia was requesting that the women wear white and loved how romantic this dress was. I've been wearing a lot of black lately so it was nice to wear something that felt softer. The lace makes the dress seem demure at first but it's also fairly see through so it feels like I have a secret. Always have to start with eye patches. Especially if fighting jet lag. The dress felt like it was calling for something as romantic as it was. I have naturally curly hair but rarely wear it so we wanted to embrace the curl but also pull it off my face. My hairstylist Jillian Halouska also tied a few small black and white bows in the back to hold it in place. Emma Day, my brilliant makeup artist, and I have worked together for many years and she always uses colour so beautifully. She suggested a coral Dior Rosy Glow blush and lip and pulled some into the eyes too. I'm obsessed with the Dior Addict Lip Glows because they give you a little bit of a stain but are still glossy. Skincare is the best makeup. Take care of your skin and then enhance your natural beauty with beautiful makeup. And to invest in timeless pieces that can be worn in different ways. Then you never have to worry about going out of style. My style is constantly evolving and I like to have fun with fashion. It's an opportunity to express yourself - who you are or who you want to be, even if just for tonight. I'm endlessly inspired by French Women. They're so effortlessly stylish. My dog chewed through the pocket of my favourite black leather jacket so I'm on the hunt for the perfect replacement. She's an icon and I'm standing on the shoulders of the brilliant women who helped bring her to life for different generations. I love that she's not always the most graceful in her pursuit, but that she's relentless in her quest for the truth. I think she's endured because it's inspiring to watch someone go to the ends of the earth for what they believe in. Sometimes literally in her case. It's also fun to watch someone like that get into trouble, which she often does, and have to rely on their own intelligence and instinct (and occasionally a Superman) to come out on top. I'm hesitant to give them away because I'll never be able to get in again! I'm always chasing the perfect gelato… I recently stumbled into La Strega Nocciola which is pretty fantastic. I went to Enzo al 29 a few years ago which is excellent but not a secret anymore! Da Francesco is also really good for pasta and pizza. I love to walk around Trastevere near the water and people watch. Maria Grazia Chiuri Exits Dior After A Decade Of Putting Feminist Values At The Heart Of the Brand

This just in: Maria Grazia Chiuri is officially leaving Dior. The creative director is stepping down after almost a decade at the house, confirming months of speculation that she would be exiting after the brand's Cruise 2026 show in Rome this week. While no successor has been announced, former Loewe creative chief Jonathan Anderson is tipped to step into the role. Chiuri, who succeeded Raf Simons as creative director of ready-to-wear, accessories and couture in 2016, became the first woman creative to helm the storied French couture house, ushering a bold new era for the brand that focused on imbuing Dior, known for its feminine sensibility, with feminist values to match. She often incorporated feminist messaging into collections, while also collaborating with women artists and artisans from all over the world on clothing creations and show sets, spotlighting both their heritage and craftsmanship to a global audience. (Under her leadership, Dior quickly became known for its travelling shows, staging catwalk extravaganzas in locations ranging from Scotland to Mexico to Greece and India.) Her designs, meanwhile, prioritised wearability, reimagining many of the codes and signatures of Christian Dior himself for the modern woman. 'Mr Dior created construction for women which was more conservative — women moved their bodies less at that time. My obsession is making pieces which are easy to wear, using technology but also couture know-how,' she told ELLE UK at a pre-show preview last September. Meanwhile, behind the scenes she worked hard to champion gender equality, kickstarting initiatives like the brand's mentoring programme, Women@Dior, run in partnership with the United Nations' UNESCO. Before joining Dior, Chiuri spent 17 years at Valentino, rising to become the Roman brand's co-creative director alongside Pierpaolo Piccioli, her long-term creative collaborator and friend. In a statement Delphine Arnault thanked Chiuri for her her 'tremendous work with an inspiring feminist perspective and exceptional creativity, all imbued with the spirit of Monsieur Dior'. 'I would like to thank Monsieur Arnault for placing his trust in me and Delphine for her support,' Chiuri said. 'I am particularly grateful for the work accomplished by my teams and the ateliers. Their talent and expertise allowed me to realise my vision of committed women's fashion, in close dialogue with several generations of female artists. Together, we have written an impactful chapter of which I am immensely proud.' ELLE Collective is a new community of fashion, beauty and culture lovers.
