Driver dead following single-vehicle crash on Highway 54 in Haldimand County
One person has died following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 54 in Haldimand County, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said.
OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk said the crash happened just after midnight Tuesday between Onondaga Townline Road and Harrison Road and claimed the life of the driver.
According to Sanchuk, Haldimand County OPP, Haldimand County Fire Department, and Haldimand County EMS responded to the crash.
"I'm sad to say that the driver of the vehicle suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene," Sanchuk said.
He said Haldimand Road 54 will be closed between Onondaga Townline Road and Harrison Road until around 12 p.m. because of the investigation.
