Rob Gronkowski hints at Patriots signing a player before trade deadline–would it be Terry McLaurin?

(Image via Getty Images: Rob Gronkowski and Terry McLaurin) Rob Gronkowski, former tight end for the New England Patriots, recently talked about the Patriots' newest head coach, Mike Vrabel, with Jamie Erdahl, host of Good Morning Football on NFL Network. Gronkowski said Vrabel had done an excellent job till now–both in free agency and in the 2025 NFL Draft. The retired tight end has no questions about any of his offseason moves. All that's left now is to see if Vrabel can bring the team together and win games. Gronkowski also hinted that the Patriots may sign another player before the trade deadline. Why? Because they have 50-60 million dollars left in spending. Albert Breer, Senior NFL Reporter, recently shared that the Patriots would be very interested in signing wide receiver Terry McLaurin. McLaurin–whose contract talks are still not happening with the Washington Commanders. Before we jump to any conclusions, let's go back to our first topic of discussion–what exactly did Rob Gronkowski say about HC Mike Vrabel? Rob Gronkowski says Mike Vrabel has done all the excellent moves in the offseason The 36-year-old NFL Analyst shared with Good Morning Football host Jamie Erdahl, 'As far as I think, Mike Vrabel is doing an excellent job so far. You really can't question any of the moves that he has done this year in free agency and in the draft. I think they smacked it out of the park. What we've really gotta see now is how coach Vrabel can bring this team together so they can have that chemistry to go out and play together as a team. Go out there and win games. Possibly have a shot at making the playoffs and winning the division. And if not winning the division, at least getting a wild card, so they can compete in the playoffs. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Is it legal? He has to bring this team together–because all the moves in the offseason have been done in the draft and free agency. He's been doing such a great job. You can't really question him yet, and you've gotta just see how he does once the season hits. ' NFL Analyst Rob Gronkowski hints at a possible Terry McLaurin trade The NFL Analyst for FOX Sports further said that the Patriots may sign a player before the 2025 NFL Trade deadline. Gronkowski did not hint at Terry McLaurin directly, but mentioned the exact money left in spending. He gave some other clues too. The retired tight end said, 'Maybe they're gonna make another splash before the trade deadline because they have about 50-60 million dollars left in spending. So maybe they're gonna go out and make a trade to amp up a position they need progress at, throughout the season. ' New England Patriots would be very interested in signing wide receiver Terry McLaurin Albert Breer talked about Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin on NBC Sports Boston's 'Early Edition' on Wednesday night. Breer said, 'I think the Patriots would be very interested in this. Now, there's a price point for all of it. What would that mean? Obviously, he's not going to come here with an unresolved contract situation, so you'd be talking about a draft pick plus a contract. But certainly as far as what they're looking from a person, as a player, helping Drake Maye–this guy checks every box. ' –Rob Gronkowski mentioned earlier that the Patriots are looking for a player that can amp-up a position they need progress at - amp up quarterback Drake Maye? Looking for wide receiver Terry McLaurin? Only time will tell. Brit kids 'being groomed by Russian and Iranian spies to carry out attacks in UK'

Russia and Iran are grooming children and convincing them to carry out attacks in the UK as part of a sophisticated proxy network, according to Scotland Yard officials British children are being groomed by Russian and Iranian spies to help carry out state-backed attacks in the UK, senior counter-terror officers have warned. ‌ The hostile states are targeting youngsters online in an attempt to use them as "proxies" to carry out criminal activity, Scotland Yard said on Tuesday. Deputy Assistant Commissioner Vicki Evans told journalists: "Ultimately we have children and adults in these environments, particularly online environments, where they can easily be targeted, be groomed into conversations into tasking, some might be disenfranchised and be looking for something The message to people like parents and teachers is be vigilant, understand the risk that exists in these spaces, talk, educate, report your concerns, that helps us to protect people." ‌ ‌ Commander Dominic Murphy said his officers had arrested at least one youngster in their "mid-teens" amid a "long-term trend" of hostile states carrying out attacks in the UK. Ms Evans revealed there has been a five-fold increase in state-sponsored incidents since 2018, adding that it was "highly likely we will continue to see growth in this area". She warned that the rising threat was due to the "erosion of a rule-based international order" and "great international instability". It comes after Dylan Earl, a small-time drug dealer from Leicestershire, was convicted of plotting to set fire to a London warehouse containing communications equipment destined for Ukraine. Earl was working for the Wagner Group, the mercenary unit controlled by the Russian state. Jakeem Rose, 23, Ugnius Asmena, 20, and Nii Mensah, 23, were convicted last week at the Old Bailey of aggravated arson with intent to endanger life after the blaze at the unit, which sent aid and internet satellite equipment to Ukraine. ‌ The attack was orchestrated by Earl, 20, and Jake Reeves, 23, who admitted aggravated arson on behalf of the Wagner Group. Ms Evans said a fifth of British counter-terror policing is now dedicated to battling a surge of state-backed threats. She told reporters that the fact she was hosting the first Met Police press briefing on the danger posed by hostile foreign nations was a reflection on the 'scale and intensity" of the threat. The majority of the attacks are coming from China, Russia and Iran with a number of cases due to come before British courts in the coming months. Mr Murphy said: "The volume of those arrested have continued to grow at a rate that I'm not sure any of us predicted." The officer has previously warned that state-backed espionage in Britain is at its worst since the Cold War. He said on Tuesday: "Iran really does continue to pose a very real physical threat to individuals in this country." Ken McCallum, the head of MI5, said in October that authorities had stopped 20 state-backed plots hatched by Iran in the UK since 2022. Mr McCallum warned of an 'unprecedented pace and scale' of plots posing 'potentially lethal threats' to British citizens. Iran was the first foreign power to be listed on the enhanced tier of the foreign influence registration scheme (Firs), aimed at protecting the UK from malign foreign influence.

Ditch the Vegas strip for Nevada Wild West getaway with ghost towns like Western films, alien encounters & famous parks

The spirit of the Old Wild West will never die as long as there are towns like Pioche in Nevada, I can tell you! This is a little part of Advertisement 10 Ann visited Cathedral Gorge on her Wild West adventure in Nevada Credit: Journalist Collect 10 She also encountered the Extraterrestrial Highway that leads to Area 51 Credit: Alamy 10 The Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada is a must-visit attraction Credit: Alamy We made our way there after spending a night in Setting off, our elderly driver, Earl, advised: 'Buckle up, you are in for some ride,' and he wasn't wrong as we set off across the Mojave Desert. Here we visited ghost towns where the silver miners fought it out with guns on the streets in scenes reminiscent of the old Western movies like High Noon, They Died With Their Boots On, The Gun Fighter and many more. As I stood on the main street of Pioche I expected to see the tumbleweed coming towards me and the ghosts of those who died by the gun emerging to play out the violent scenes again. Advertisement READ MORE IN TRAVEL This once prosperous and thriving silver mining town gained its deadly reputation when the word spread in the 1800s that none of the first 72 people to die there passed away from natural causes. A visit to this town with its nice friendly community makes it hard to believe that it was once one of the roughest and toughest mining towns in the Old West - attracting thousands of fortune seekers who believed they would hit a rich vein of silver. This ghost town in Lincoln County - and believe me there are ghosts aplenty here attracting supernatural hunters from all over the world - was one of the highlights of our road trip along the Great Basin Highway. Having been a fan of the great Western movies since my younger days, I was drawn to exploring the little town. Advertisement Most read in The Irish Sun Exclusive And there I found the Overland Hotel and Saloon, which on the Travel Channel's Ghost Adventures was deemed to have provided some of the most successful interactions with spirits. So pro tip, if you want to stay there but don't want any interactions with the spirits, avoid room 10, where others have reported doors mysteriously slamming and being awakened from a deep sleep by something supernatural. Beneath The Strip This was the town where the gunslingers let their guns do the talking because there was no law and order - life was cheap and the many saloons all led to the lawlessness for which Pioche became famous. As a reporter who covers courts, I was fascinated by the Million Dollar Courthouse where many of those caught ended up. Advertisement Boothill Cemetery also exists to this day with some fascinating headstones - including one stating that the occupant of the grave was shot in an argument over a dog. 10 The Million Dollar Courthouse building is now a museum Credit: Alamy 10 There are several State parks across the area to visit Credit: Journalist Collect 10 Ann laid her eyes on the 4,000 year old Petroglyphs etched into rock in the Valley of Fire Credit: Journalist Collect Advertisement 10 The Overland Hotel and Saloon featured on the Travel Channel's Ghost Adventure Credit: Getty Images If it's phenomena of a different kind you want, we swapped ghosts for aliens. The mysterious Area 51 is synonymous with tales of We even stopped under the sign to see if our presence could attract even the smallest of spaceships, but alas it was not to be. Advertisement You may not automatically think of Las Vegas, 'THIS IS A PLACE FOR EXPLORING' It gets its name from the way the sandstone formations combine to give an image of a valley on fire. When you stand and gaze at so many different shapes and sizes of rock formations and realise you are looking at 150 million years in time with the maze of canyons, domes, ridges and towers carved from sand deposited back when dinosaurs walked the earth, it is truly awesome. As we joined the queue to gain entry I was very taken with the sign which said 'Heat warning. You might die.' Advertisement And seeing as it was late May, we were very lucky that the heat was not overwhelming, meaning we could spending hours there. When it is too hot, the park can often close, which happened the day after we visited. But be warned. Do not venture alone as people have been known to get lost and some have died. CROWN JEWEL Among the State Parks clustered around the towns of Caliente and Pioche is Cathedral Gorge, which many regard as one of the State's crown jewel. Advertisement This is thanks to spectacular slot canyons, spires, and other erosional features. This is a place for exploring and is a hiker's paradise, which was once completely underwater. As we drove along the highway with the Mojave Desert as our backdrop, we passed amazing sand dunes and forests of Joshua trees, but even more fascinating is the number of farms along the route, something you wouldn't expect in the dry desert. It is truly nature's beauty in its very rawest form. Advertisement An interesting fact about the Joshua trees, apart from the GO: NEVADA GET THERE: I flew with Aer Lingus to Las Vegas, who operate a seasonal service three times weekly from October to May with prices starting at €450 return STAY THERE: Stay in Prospector Hotel and Gambling Hall in Ely, a really unique and very Wild West hotel for €112 for two sharing a room. EAT THERE: Dining out was not a gourmet experience and very often it was grab-and-go at gas stops. But the Historic Silver Cafe in Pioche provided good food and great service. MORE INFO: Visit to find out more info on the US state. Then we went to the Great Basin National Park which stretches from California's Sierra Nevada to Utah's Wasatch Mountains. They say 'half the park is after dark', the reason being that this is designated an International Dark Sky Park by DarkSky, and has its own amphitheatre for looking at the most amazing star-filled skies. I was just blown away by the sight of so many stars against the very black backdrop and could never have imagined the sheer beauty and magnificence I was viewing. Advertisement In the park, too, are some of the oldest living trees on Earth. The ancient Bristlecone pine groves throughout are believed to be almost 5,000 years old. The best place to see these ancient trees is along the Bristlecone Trail, which is accessed from the Wheeler Peak Campground. MUST-VISIT SPOT And you just can't leave the park without a visit to the Lehman Caves, with marble roofs and limestone formations. This is Nevada's largest cave system, but remember you must book in advance as visits require guides. Advertisement There was so much crammed into our trip, like the scenic drive up Wheeler Peak, or popping into towns like Ely, home to railroad museums and beautiful murals. One thing is for sure, it made me see a whole new world in Nevada away from the slots and the lights of the city. 10 Eroded sandstone cliffs are visable at Cathedral Gorge State Park Credit: Getty Images 10 Visitors might even bump into an alien around the state, just like Ann did Credit: Journalist Collect Advertisement 10 There is plenty to see away from the bright lights of the Vegas strip when visiting Nevada Credit: Getty Images

We want to be one of the best Lions teams ever – Ben Earl reveals lofty target

A stacked AUNZ Invitational XV containing 17 Wallabies and All Blacks provide dangerous final opponents before the Test series begins in Brisbane on July 19. The Lions have so far dispatched all four Super Rugby franchises, each of them missing the bulk of their Australia stars, with the defeat to Argentina in Dublin that launched the tour the only blemish. The hectic schedule of four matches in 11 days across four different cities has prevented any serious training from taking place, but Earl insists there can be no excuses in the pursuit of a lofty goal. 'There's a big thing that we've been speaking about – being one of the best Lions teams ever,' the England number eight said. 'You can't be the best Lions team ever and lose 3-0 in the Test series or not win many games. But also it's how we go about things. 'Games like this one you have short preparation, sore bodies and are at the end of a tough two-week block, so you've got some excuses there if you wanted to roll over and not put your best stuff forward. 'But then you'd be doing yourself, the jersey, the brand itself a complete disservice.' While head coach Farrell has repeatedly highlighted the challenges posed by preparation being limited to training walk-throughs and meetings, his players are relishing the regular action. Ben Earl (left) is relishing his experience with the Lions (Robbie Stephenson/PA) 'It's been great. It's been unbelievable,' Earl added. 'At this time of the year – what are we, 54 weeks into a season now almost? – just playing is so fun, so enjoyable, so exciting. 'It's the meetings, the analysis, the review stuff that can get tiresome. It's the coolest thing to be able to play with players that previously you were previewing on how to stop them. 'I can wholeheartedly say that it's the best thing I've ever done by a mile. I've learnt more in the last five weeks than I probably have in the last four years in terms of seeing the game differently, playing with different people and competing on the training pitch. 'But it's also been learning that, actually, going into a rugby performance you don't need to do seven days of going into a monastery and coming out on a Saturday and being able to play. 'You just have to work out what you're good at, what you're going to do as a team and try and do it and see where you're at after 80 minutes. That's pretty cool.' The Lions depart Adelaide for Brisbane on Sunday to begin preparations for the first Test, with Farrell scheduled to name his team on Thursday.
