Aliyah Boston joins Caitlin Clark among Indiana Fever franchise elite

"How good has Aliyah Boston been in 2025." 💯Aliyah Boston earned her third Player of the Week honors of her career after averaging 16.7 PPG and 11.7 RPG, along with three double-doubles to lead us to a 3-0 record during the week of July 28-August 3. After finishing the week with three of her six consecutive double-doubles while leading the Indiana Fever to a fifth straight win, Aliyah Boston was named the WNBA's Eastern Conference Player of the Week. Boston, who has been the backbone of the Fever's 2025 campaign so far, showcased her dominance this past week by posting averages of 16.7 points, 11.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.3 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game. In addition to her impressive stat line, Boston's 35 total rebounds, 28 defensive rebounds, and three double-doubles were all tied for the most across the entire WNBA during the week. For the former 2023 WNBA No. 1 overall pick, the honor is her first of the 2025 season and the third in her three-year career. With her selection, Boston joins Tamika Catchings, Caitlin Clark, Katie Douglas, and Kelsey Mitchell as the only Fever players to win three or more Player of the Week Awards. Of the now-five-member group, Catchings still leads with nine honors during her memorable 15-year career with the franchise. Fever head coach Stephanie White surprised Boston with the news at Monday night's team dinner in Los Angeles, which drew a joyous celebration from her fellow teammates and coaches. Boston and the Fever will look to continue their stellar play tonight when they clash against the Los Angeles Sparks from Arena. Angel Reese stops by a young fan post All-Star Game, asks her before signing autograph 'Who you gonna be?'

Angel Reese (Image credit: Instagram) Angel Reese had a lot going on around her to steal the spotlight at the All-Star Game on Saturday. From introducing her new pink shoes to sporting a T-shirt with 'Pay us what you owe us' printed on it, Reese made full use of the big stage to make her presence felt — beyond just her moves on the court. However, after the game, she drew praise for slowing down to sign an autograph for a young girl and inspiring her in a touching moment. Reese is seen wearing the new colorway of her Mebounds shoes, which she introduced during the All-Star weekend. She named her shoe line "Mebounds" — a nickname she earned from being teased for grabbing rebounds off her own missed shots. Angel Reese joins WNBA players in call for pay parity Ahead of the All-Star Game, Angel Reese joined her WNBA peers in a unified call for a fair share of league revenue. Like the others, she turned heads when she removed her jacket during warmups to reveal a black T-shirt with the bold message, 'Pay us what you owe us.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Is it legal? Angel Reese snags cover of NBA 2K26

Angel Reese is having a July to remember. The latest: Not only is the Sky's superstar an All-Star, but she's now in rarified air as the cover star of the new NBA 2K26 WNBA edition video game. Reese also snagged WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors and put out her first signature shoe with Reebok. On the court, she became the fastest player in league history to reach 650 points and 650 rebounds. State of play: Reese graces the cover of the WNBA edition of the video game, while Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander graces the NBA version. What they're saying:"To be cemented in NBA 2K history is a special honor that reflects not only my journey, but also all the veteran WNBA players who have paved the way before me," Reese said in a statement. "I'm proud to be part of a game that continues to elevate women's basketball." Between the lines: Angel's star continues to rise in her second year in Chicago. Her rivalry with the Indiana Fever's Caitlin Clark has helped, but it has also made her the subject of hate on the internet. The Sky are 5-13 and currently in 12th place in the East. The intrigue: Video game covers have become synonymous with stardom. Fellow Chicagoan Candace Parker was the first female basketball player to be on the cover of NBA 2K in 2021. Other Chicago basketball stars that have been on video game covers: Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Derrick Rose.

Angel Reese Move Draws 'Hard' Post From Chicago Sky

Angel Reese Move Draws 'Hard' Post From Chicago Sky originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky faced the Washington Mystics in an early matchup on Tuesday morning. Reese entered the game on a five-game double-double streak and looked to keep it going. Advertisement Turns out, she only needed one half to get there, finishing the first with 10 points, 10 rebounds and one assist as the Sky trailed 40-35. In the third quarter, Reese dished a pass to teammate Michaela Onyenwere, then cut toward the basket as Onyenwere gave it back. Guarded by Washington's Kiki Iriafen, Reese caught the ball in the post, turned and finished with her right hand for an and-one. The Sky posted the video of her finish on social media for fans to see, including a six-word caption. "A5 goes hard in the paint," the Sky wrote. Reese went on to miss the free throw with an opportunity to cut the Mystics' lead from 46-39 to 46-40. Regardless, that brought the former LSU Tigers' point total to 12 on the day. Advertisement The Sky may only be 5-12 on the 2025 WNBA season, but Reese has continued to show out, and her play hasn't gone unnoticed. She was recently named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week after averaging 19.7 points, 17.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game from June 23-29. Aliyah Boston Sends Two-Word Message to Fever Star After WNBA Announcement

Aliyah Boston Sends Two-Word Message to Fever Star After WNBA Announcement originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Indiana Fever got some good news ahead of their road game against the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday. The Fever are looking to make it three straight wins as they continue to navigate the season with Caitlin Clark still sidelined with a quad injury. Advertisement The rest of the squad has had ot step up with their best player sidelined, but there has been no bigger player over the past week than two-time All-Star Kelsey Mitchell. The 5-foot-8 guard led Indiana to back-to-back wins over the Washington Mystics and the Chicago Sky with averages of 20.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. On Tuesday, the WNBA announced that Mitchell has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week. Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell was named Eastern Conference Player of the Smith/IndyStar / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Fever star Aliyah Boston caught wind of the big news and flexed her teammate's milestone. Boston took to Instagram to send a two-word message on Mitchell's Player of the Week win. Advertisement "so deserving," Boston wrote. Boston has also had to step her game up in Clark's absence, and she, too, has been pivotal to Indiana's recent success. However, there's no denying that it has been Mitchell who has led the charge for the Fever's shorthanded backcourt. Indiana will need more of the same from Mitchell, Boston and the rest of the squad on Tuesday as they take on the Dream in Atlanta. The Dream are currently third in the WNBA with a 5-3 record and are looking to bounce back following their 84-76 loss to the Connecticut Sun on Friday. The Fever, however, have momentum on their side, and they are out to prove that they can keep their winning streak alive despite one of their star players sidelined.
