Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today virtually inaugurate 103 redeveloped railway stations across India under the ambitious Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, with three major stations from West Bengal—Kalyani Ghoshpara, Panagarh, and Joychandi Pahar—receiving comprehensive modern upgrades. The historic inauguration ceremony will be conducted via video conference from Bikaner, Rajasthan, marking a significant milestone in India's railway infrastructure modernization. The nationwide project spans 86 districts across 18 states and Union Territories, representing a total investment of over Rs 1,100 crore. "May 22 is a landmark day for India's railway infrastructure. The Amrit Stations will boost comfort, connectivity and celebrate our glorious culture!" PM Modi announced on social media platform X ahead of the inauguration. The three West Bengal stations have undergone remarkable transformations with a combined investment of Rs 20.73 crore. Joychandi Pahar received the highest allocation at Rs 11.43 crore, followed by Panagarh at Rs 5.5 crore and Kalyani Ghoshpara at Rs 3.8 crore. "Through this scheme, the stations have been completely revamped. The new features will give them a brand new look," explained Diptimoy Dutta, Chief Public Relations Officer of Eastern Railway. Kalyani Ghoshpara Station, which serves the University of Kalyani, AIMS, IIIT, ITI, and numerous medical and engineering colleges, has been transformed into a modern transportation hub. The comprehensive redevelopment encompasses the station building, concourse, circulating area, porch, and facade. Key improvements include a full-cover platform shed, raised and resurfaced platforms for enhanced safety, and modern furniture with new seating arrangements. The station now showcases local art and culture through decorative elements throughout the premises. The technological upgrades are particularly impressive, featuring single and double-face train indication boards, GPS-enabled platform clocks, advanced speaker systems, and an outdoor LED tower clock. The facility now includes completely renovated waiting halls and toilets, along with accessibility features such as two ramps, low-height booking counters, accessible toilets, and water booths for differently-abled passengers. Panagarh Railway Station under the Asansol Division has been transformed into a contemporary passenger facility. The station now features a brand-new building on the second entry side, complete with modern ticket counters, spacious waiting areas, and specially equipped toilets for differently-abled passengers. Accessibility has been significantly enhanced through the installation of two lifts and additional ramps. The platforms have been refurbished with new protective sheds, while the circulating area has been optimized for smooth passenger and vehicle movement. The station's green initiative includes landscaped gardens, while modern amenities encompass energy-efficient lighting systems, advanced ticketing infrastructure, and improved sanitation facilities. Security has been strengthened with comprehensive CCTV camera installation, and passengers now benefit from multiline display boards, train information systems, and coach information boards providing real-time travel updates. The inauguration will take place via video conference from Bikaner, Rajasthan, as per a statement by the Press Information Bureau. These three West Bengal stations are among the 103 stations across 86 districts in 18 states and Union Territories that have been redeveloped at a total cost of over Rs 1,100 crore. The estimated cost of redevelopment for the West Bengal stations stands at Rs 5.5 crore for Panagarh, Rs 3.8 crore for Kalyani Ghoshpara, and Rs 11.43 crore for Joychandi Pahar. 'Through this scheme, the stations have been completely revamped. The new features will give them a brand new look,' said Diptimoy Dutta, Chief Public Relations Officer of Eastern Railway. The Kalyani Ghoshpara Station, which caters to the University of Kalyani, AIMS, IIIT, ITI, various other medical and engineering colleges and several administrative offices, has undergone a significant transformation. A full-cover shed has been installed over the platform, and the platform itself has been raised and resurfaced for enhanced safety and comfort. New furniture and seating benches have been provided, and the area has been decorated with elements that represent local art and culture. The waiting hall and toilets have been completely renovated. Modern technological upgrades include single and double face train indication boards, a platform GPS clock, speaker systems, and a GPS-based outdoor true colour LED tower clock. Additional enhancements include upgraded signage, improved lighting and friendly facilities for differently abled passengers including two ramps, low-height booking counters, accessible toilets, and water booths. Panagarh Railway Station, under the Asansol Division, has also been redeveloped into a modern passenger hub. A new station building has been constructed on the second entry side, which houses ticket counters, spacious waiting areas, and toilets equipped for differently-abled passengers. Accessibility has been improved through the installation of two lifts and the addition of ramps. Platforms have been refurbished with new sheds to provide better shelter for commuters. The circulating area has been optimised to ensure smooth passenger and vehicle movement. The station now features landscaped gardens as part of its green initiative. Security measures have been strengthened with CCTV camera installation. Besides, the station now features multiline display boards, train information boards, and coach information boards to provide real-time travel updates. At Joychandi Pahar Station in Purulia, redevelopment has been completed in record time under the Adra Division. The station now features a renovated and improved station concourse, retiring rooms, dormitories, and first- and second-class waiting halls. The platform surface has been developed with granite for enhanced durability and appearance. To support inclusive infrastructure, the station includes ramps, water booths, toilets, and booking counters specifically designed for differently abled commuters. Additional improvements include the application of tactile tiles for the visually impaired, the beautification of the concourse and station areas with local Madhubani paintings, development of the circulating area, and repair and widening of the roads leading to the main entry and parking zones. 'The Amrit Bharat stations are poised to emerge as prominent city landmarks, contributing significantly to future socio-economic development. GPT Infra Q4 PAT climbs 50% YoY to Rs 24 cr

GPT Infraproject's consolidated net profit surged 49.72% to Rs 24.24 crore in Q4 FY25 as against Rs 16.19 crore in Q4 FY24. Revenue from operations jumped 29.06% YoY to Rs 380.74 crore in the quarter ended 31 March 2025. Profit before tax grew by 20.43% to Rs 28.64 crore during the quarter as against Rs 23.78 crore recorded in the same quarter a year ago. On the segmental front, in Q4 FY25, revenue from infrastructure stood at Rs 347.15 crore (up 31.57% YoY), while revenue from concrete sleepers was Rs 33.59 crore (up 7.83% YoY). EBITDA for Q4 FY25 stood at Rs 39.1 crore, compared to Rs 35.6 crore in Q4 FY24, reflecting a growth of 9.8%. On a full-year basis, the company's consolidated net profit grew by 38.43% to Rs 80.07 crore on a 16.67% increase in revenue from operations to Rs 1,188.07 crore in FY25 over FY24. The company reported an order book of Rs 3,486 crore, with an order inflow of Rs 1,575 crore during the year, including incremental orders from existing contracts. Dwarika Prasad Tantia, GPT chairman, said, The governments continued focus on infrastructure development presents a robust opportunity for growth, and we remain confident in our ability to expand into newer geographies while delivering world-class infrastructure for the nation. We have commissioned a Steel Girder and Components Manufacturing Facility at West Bengal, with an initial capacity of 10,000 MT per annum with provisions to enhance the final capacity to 25,000 MTPA over a period of 2 years. Some key contracts that we have bagged during the year are Rs 547 crore order from Rail Vikas Nigam and Rs 481 crore order from CAO construction, South Eastern Railway. Order execution is going on smoothly with the highest ever full-year revenue and profits in the companys history while we maintain the EBITDA hurdle rate. We have continued to have a healthy balance sheet with a robust ROE of 17% and ROCE of 22%. I congratulate all the stakeholders, and the commitment to have similar disciplined growth with sound financials in place remains strong. With a strong foundation in place, we are well-positioned to achieve greater heights in the coming years. Meanwhile, the companys board has declared a final dividend of Rs 1 per share, with the record date set for 31 July 2025. The total dividend for the year amounts to Rs 3 per share.
