Eastern Railway, Railway Recruitment Cell has invited applications for Apprentice posts. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official website RRC, ER at rrcer.org. The registration process begins on August 14 and will end on September 13, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must have passed 10th class examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 examination system) with minimum 50% marks, in aggregate, from recognized Board and should also possess the National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.
The candidates who want to apply for the post should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years of age (as on cut-off date for receiving application). The age as recorded in the Matriculation certificate issued from a government recognized Board / Authority or the birth certificate issued from a government recognized authority shall only be reckoned for the purpose.
Selection Process
Selection of a candidate for training slot of a unit of Eastern railway will be on the basis of merit prepared in respect of all eligible candidates who apply against the notification. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of data/details filled up by candidates in the online application form.
Application Fee
The application fee is ₹100/-. No fee, however, is to be paid by the SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates). The payment can be made by using Debit Card / Credit Card / Internet Banking etc. Transaction charges for online payment, if any, will be borne by the candidate. The age limit to apply for the post should be in between 15 years to 24 years as on August 12, 2025. Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years in case of SC/ST candidates, 3 years in case of OBC candidates. Selection Process The selection will be on the basis of merit list prepared in respect of all the candidates who apply against the notification. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of percentage of marks in matriculation (with minimum 50% aggregate marks) + ITI marks in the trade in which Apprenticeship is to be done. The Women's Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Coimbatore has extended spot admission for the 2025 academic year till August 31, according to a press release. Women who have completed Class 10 are eligible to apply, with no upper age limit or special fees. An assistance centre at the institute will help walk-in applicants. Courses offered include one-year training in Computer Operator & Programming Assistant, Desktop Publishing Operator, IoT Technician (Smart Health Care), and Sewing Technology; two-year courses in Instrument Mechanic, Electronics Mechanic, Information Technology, and Technician Medical Electronics; and a six-month course in Smart Phone Technician Cum App Tester. Successful candidates will receive the National Trade Certificate issued by the Central Government. The release said trainees will receive a ₹750 monthly stipend, bicycle, uniforms, footwear, textbooks, drawing instruments, and a free bus pass. Eligible women under the Pudhumai Penn scheme will get an additional ₹1,000 monthly.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday summoned West Bengal Chief Secretary Manoj Pant to New Delhi by Wednesday evening to clarify the reasons action was not taken and FIRs not lodged against Bengal officials, despite the ECI's directives to suspend four Bengal officials and a casual worker, who were allegedly involved in ER related irregularities. Therefore, there are occasions where certain functions are delegated to subordinate staff in good faith,' Pant clarified in his letter. The tussle between the ECI and the West Bengal government escalated further on Tuesday after the state government yesterday withdrew an AERO and a data entry operator from election duty.
