Kishan, Eatala thank Def Ministry for allocating Rs 303 crore for Cantt devpt

Hyderabad: Union Minister of Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy, and Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender thanked Union Defence Minister Rajanath Singh for approving a budget of Rs 303 crore for development works in Secunderabad Cantonment area. Kishan Reddy announced on Tuesday that in 2024, the Defence Department transferred the land needed for the elevated corridor from Jubilee Bus Station to Shamirpet to the state government. In return, it was agreed that the Rs. 303 crore received would be deposited into the Defence Department Consolidated Fund. However, the board decided to deposit this amount directly into the Cantonment Board account and communicated this decision in a letter. Both Kishan Reddy and Eatala have written to the Union Defence Ministry, with Eatala also raising the issue in Parliament and requesting the construction of a double-decker bridge alongside the Shamirpet elevated corridor, as well as provisions for a metro and a road. Eatala addressed the media on Tuesday, stating that in response to the Cantonment Board's resolution and the letters sent by Kishan Reddy and himself as an MP, the Defence Department has issued orders to deposit Rs. 303 crore into the board's account. Additionally, a grant of Rs. 11 crore has been allocated. 'With this funding, we have sanctioned Rs. 160 crore for the construction of two stormwater drains: one from Jubilee to Patni and the second through the Rasoolpura bastis. We plan to construct these using the SNDP (Storm Water Drainage Project) model. This will provide a permanent solution to flood inundation issues in the Cantonment and Boinapalli areas,' he said. Eatala said that Rs 128 crore has been allocated for the development of an underground drainage system. This initiative serves as a response to those questioning what the Central Government has contributed to the Cantonment. Further, we intend to enhance the Cantonment with parks, roads, underground drainage, and flood canals. The Cantonment is a beautiful area, and the temperature here is usually two degrees lower than in the surrounding regions. Also, efforts are being made to explore the possibility of constructing double-bedroom units within the Cantonment, Eatala said. He said typically, when the Defence Department transfers land, the funds received are deposited into the Central Defence Department account. 'I would like to extend special thanks to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for allocating funds to the board for the first time and to Union Minister Kishan Reddy for his unwavering support,' he said. Additionally, we are advocating for the establishment of a Cantonment Governing Body and hope that board elections will be held soon. We plan to raise this issue in the next session of Parliament. CEO Madhukar Nayak, Board Member Narmada Mallikarjuna, and Corporator Deepika participated in the media conference.

Will quit politics if CM Revanth Reddy proves KLIS did not get cabinet nod, says BJP MP Eatala Rajender; demands CBI probe, slams Congress over HYDRAA

BJP MP Eatala Rajender HYDERABAD: BJP MP and former minister Eatala Rajender said he is willing to retire from politics if chief minister A Revanth Reddy can prove that the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project was initiated without cabinet approval during the former BRS regime. Speaking at a press conference at the state BJP headquarters, Eatala said he was making the statement not as a BJP leader, but as a former minister who was part of the decision-making apparatus. "No major project like Kaleshwaram can move forward without cabinet clearance," he asserted, citing former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao's own principle that even minor departmental matters required cabinet discussion. "If my claim is proven false, I will step away from politics," he said, throwing the gauntlet at the Congress govt. Eatala reminded that Kaleshwaram evolved from the Congress-era Pranahita-Chevella project, which was part of the Jalayagnam scheme. "Only three new components-Annaram, Sundilla, and Medigadda-were added to it," he said, countering the narrative that the BRS launched an entirely new project. He voiced skepticism about the implementation of the Kaleshwaram commission report, and demanded a CBI probe into alleged corruption in the project. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 임플란트, 지금 시작하세요 [자세히 보기] 임플란트 더 알아보기 Undo "If the Congress is serious about action, let it prove it by moving forward on the report," he said, calling attention to urgent concerns like Medigadda barrage's structural issues and the need to restore water flow. Clarifying his party's stand, he said, "The BJP is not against irrigation or infrastructure projects. What we oppose is their misuse for financial exploitation." As part of the BJP's campaign marking Prime Minister Modi's 11 years in office, Eatala announced a public meeting in Malkajgiri on June 22. An exhibition on Modi's governance, along with a showcase of development work in Malkajgiri over the past year, will begin this Friday. Union ministers Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay, and Telangana BJP in-charge Sunil Bansal are expected to attend. Eatala also launched a sharp attack on the Congress govt in the state, saying, "This is not a govt that builds homes-it demolishes them. Under the guise of HYDRAA, they are spreading fear among the poor." He compared the political shift from BRS to Congress as "jumping from the frying pan into the fire."

City in disarray due to heavy rains: Eatala

Hyderabad: Malkajgiri MP and BJP leader Eatala Rajender said that despite Hyderabad being recognised as a world-class city, there were significant disparities in the city's development. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, he commented that the city was in disarray due to heavy rains. He mentioned that the drainage system was inadequate, causing the canals to overflow. He highlighted that low-lying areas were getting submerged due to floods, severely affecting the poor. "Despite setting up Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) with the goal of treating 100% of the wastewater in Hyderabad, they are not functioning properly," he stated. He noted that while double-bedroom houses were built for the poor in the city outskirts in the past, basic amenities have not been provided there, and demanded that these issues be addressed immediately. Eatala expressed his willingness to go anywhere and do whatever it takes to resolve the public issues.

Eatala opens public grievances cell in city

Hyderabad: BJP MP Eatala Rajender announced that the party opened a public grievances cell at the party central office which began its operations from Monday. An MP or MLA will be available from 11 am to 2 pm to receive representations from people. Addressing the media on Monday, he stated that individuals could submit their grievances regarding job irregularities, real estate mafia, misuse of power by those in authority, and other issues concerning them. He assured that the party would address these matters with the relevant authorities for immediate resolution or escalate them to the government for further action. The BJP will also fight for people on the potential issues. Eatala emphasised that the BJP has been actively fighting various issues, including filling government jobs, the diversion of Godavari river waters, paddy procurement, and many others. 'There is a widespread belief among the people that only the BJP can come to their rescue and pull the state out of its financial troubles,' he remarked. The BJP leader also criticised the BRS and Congress parties for taking credit for the formation of a separate Telangana state. He dismissed meetings with BRS leaders, and made it clear that other than at social gatherings such as marriages and festivals, 'there is no communication whatsoever with the BRS leaders.' He launched a scathing attack on Congress and Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, stating, 'The Chief Minister calls Prime Minister Narendra Modi his elder brother and seeks the Centre's support for the state. However, he hurls insults against Modi and the Centre back home. It shows his double standards,' he pointed out. The Malkajgiri said the Congress had appointed several commissions to investigate the Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS), phone tapping, and other issues. However, no action has been taken, leading to doubts about whether these commissions were a genuine effort to uncover irregularities or just a facade. Turning to the state formation day, he asserted that the creation of Telangana was the result of three generations of struggle. He highlighted that the governments of Indira Gandhi and Brahmananda Reddy were responsible for the deaths of 369 innocent people in 1969. 'We will be celebrating June 2. Telangana did not come to us as a gift; we achieved it through our struggle and sacrifice.' Eatala reiterated that the BJP is firmly committed to Telangana and referred to the Kakinada resolution as 'one vote, two states.' Union Defence Minister and former BJP chief Rajnath Singh expressed support for Telangana in 2007, and leaders like Bandaru Dattatreya and Ashok Yadav played key roles in the Joint Action Committee. Sushma Swaraj encouraged Telangana youth not to resort to suicide. She took a strong stand in Parliament, earning her the affectionate title 'Chinnamma.' In contrast, Congress has faltered in its support, while the BJP has remained steadfast. 'The vision for a social and democratic Telangana can only be realised under the BJP's leadership,' he affirmed.

Kavitha, Raja Singh comments prove BRS, BJP secret partners: TPCC chief

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Friday said the allegations of BRS MLC K Kavitha and later by BJP senior MLA T Raja Singh on BJP-BRS merger efforts vindicated the Congress' stand that BRS and BJP are secret partners, and the pink party helped the BJP in the Lok Sabha and MLC elections. Mahesh Goud also demanded that Union minister G Kishan Reddy reply to allegations made by Raja Singh that some leaders in the saffron party were ready to support BRS-BJP merger in return for a "big package". Alleging that former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao has revived ties with former BRS miniter Eatala Rajender, now a BJP MP, in the backdrop of notices in the Kaleshwaram irrigation probe, the TPCC chief said: "It is learnt that BRS MLA and former irrigation minister T Harish Rao met Rajender at a farmhouse, following which KCR spoke to Eatala over phone." He accused Eatala of working for the BRS while being in BJP and asked him to make his stand clear if that was not the case. The TPCC president said that even if the BRS and BJP merged, there would be no impact on the Congress. "The BRS already scored a zero in Lok Sabha elections and the BJP tally of 8 MPs will remain the same even if there was a merger. The Congress is enjoying the confidence of the people due to its welfare schemes," he said.
