Kavitha, Raja Singh comments prove BRS, BJP secret partners: TPCC chief

Kavitha
and later by BJP senior MLA T Raja Singh on BJP-BRS merger efforts vindicated the Congress' stand that BRS and BJP are secret partners, and the pink party helped the BJP in the Lok Sabha and MLC elections.
Mahesh Goud also demanded that Union minister G Kishan Reddy reply to allegations made by Raja Singh that some leaders in the saffron party were ready to support BRS-BJP merger in return for a "big package".
Alleging that former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao has revived ties with former BRS miniter Eatala Rajender, now a BJP MP, in the backdrop of notices in the Kaleshwaram irrigation probe, the TPCC chief said: "It is learnt that BRS MLA and former irrigation minister T Harish Rao met Rajender at a farmhouse, following which KCR spoke to Eatala over phone."
He accused Eatala of working for the BRS while being in BJP and asked him to make his stand clear if that was not the case.
The TPCC president said that even if the BRS and BJP merged, there would be no impact on the Congress.
"The BRS already scored a zero in Lok Sabha elections and the BJP tally of 8 MPs will remain the same even if there was a merger. The Congress is enjoying the confidence of the people due to its welfare schemes," he said.

Mahua Moitra fainted during Opposition march, claims Derek O'Brien
A protest march by INDIA bloc MPs to the Election Commission's office in the capital on Monday saw high drama, with Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra fainting midway and being attended to by party colleagues. TMC MP Mahua Moitra and other opposition MPs hold a protest against Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar at Parliament premises during the monsoon session, in New Delhi.(ANI) The Opposition MPs, led by Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, began their march from Parliament's Makar Dwar to Nirvachan Sadan, accusing the poll body of ignoring 'voter theft' during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and raising slogans of 'vote chor.' The demonstration also targeted the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar, which leaders alleged was being used to manipulate the voter list. Delhi Police stopped the MPs, saying no permission had been sought for the protest. Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi countered that such permission was 'never' granted, accusing the police of acting on government directions. Samajwadi Party's Dimple Yadav alleged booth capturing in recent Uttar Pradesh bypolls, while RJD's Manoj Jha called the SIR a 'fraud' and accused the EC of withholding data despite Supreme Court orders. Congress MP Pramod Tiwari likened the march to Mahatma Gandhi's Dandi March, saying it was aimed at 'saving democracy.' Despite police barricades, Opposition leaders vowed to press ahead with their demand for electoral accountability.

PM inaugurates flats for MPs, urges them to celebrate festivals there
Old houses for MPs were in a poor state and posed several problems, the PM said, adding that lawmakers will face no such issue in these modern flats, each with a carpet area of over 5,000 sq ft Press Trust of India New Delhi Inaugurating a complex of multi-storey flats for parliamentarians, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday suggested that the residential premises housing the MPs should celebrate India's different festivals and compete on cleanliness. Taking a swipe at his rivals, he said some people may link Kosi, the name of one of the four towers christened after different rivers, to the upcoming Bihar assembly polls but he will tell such "small-minded" people that the tradition of naming towers after rivers unites people. The new complex in Baba Kharak Singh Marg close to Parliament House comprises 184 type-VII multi-storey flats. Modi said there had long been a shortage of residences for MPs and first-time members had to struggle to get a house. However, no new residence was built for Lok Sabha MPs between 2004 and 2014, when the Congress-led UPA was in power, and his government has constructed around 350 of them, he noted. "The India of the 21st century is as sensitive as it is eager for development," he said, adding that his government built a new government secretariat, Parliament building and houses for MPs and also constructed over four crore homes for the poor, hundreds of medical colleges and provided piped water supply for households. Old houses for MPs were in a poor state and posed several problems, the prime minister said, adding that lawmakers will face no such issue in these modern flats, each with a carpet area of over 5,000 sq ft. When MPs are free of their own problems, they can use their time and energy more effectively on addressing people's problems, Modi said. These flats will also help save money as the government spent a considerable sum in maintaining old houses, he added. Noting that MPs from different states and regions will be staying in these premises, he said it will symbolise the idea of 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat'. It will be a great move if festivals of different states are celebrated collectively, he said, adding that the MPs can ask their constituents to join them as well. The prime minister said MPs living on the premises should consider it their duty to ensure that the place is identified with sustainability and cleanliness. He said he will urge the ministry and the residential committee concerned if there can be a competition two to three times annually among the different premises housing MPs on cleanliness. "It should be declared (after competition) that this particular block was found cleanest. Maybe, after a year, we can also announce which is the best and which is the worst." The complex is designed to be self-sufficient and is equipped with a full range of modern amenities to address the functional needs of the members of the Parliament, according to a statement. "Incorporating green technology, the project adheres to the standards of the GRIHA 3-star rating and complies with the National Building Code (NBC) 2016. These environmentally sustainable features are expected to contribute to energy conservation, renewable energy generation, and effective waste management," it said. Each residential unit provides ample space for both residential and official functions, the statement said. The inclusion of dedicated areas for offices, staff accommodation, and a community centre will support MPs in fulfilling their responsibilities as public representatives, it said. KSU Leader Lodges Complaint to Trace 'Missing' Suresh Gopi, Congress Alleges Voter List 'Manipulation'
The Congress alleged that Gopi managed to win the Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency by manipulating voter list. New Delhi: The Thrissur district president of the Congress-affiliated Kerala Students' Union (KSU) has lodged a 'man missing' complaint and seeking a probe into the 'disappearance' of Union minister and Thrissur MP Suresh Gopi. In his complaint, KSU leader Gokul Guruvayur has alleged that Gopi went missing after the arrest of two Malayali nuns in Chhattisgarh, reported New Indian Express. Guruvayur has asked the police to 'probe the whereabouts of the MP and to find those behind his disappearance'. According to his social media handles, Gopi is presently in Manipur for official duty as part of his role as the Union minister of state for tourism and petroleum and natural gas, said the New Indian Express report. 'Everyone knows that when an MP becomes a Union minister, he will have additional responsibilities,' said Kerala Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajeev Chandrasekhar, brushing away complaints that Suresh Gopi has been missing from his constituency. Congress alleges Gopi won Thrissur Lok Sabha seat by 'manipulating voter list' Meanwhile, the Congress alleged that Gopi managed to win the Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency by manipulating voter list. 'BJP won its first Lok Sabha seat from Kerala surprising everyone across political spectrum. VOTE CHORI IN THRISSUR, KERALA | BJP won its first Lok Sabha seat from Kerala surprising everyone across political spectrum. Take a… — Congress Kerala (@INCKerala) August 10, 2025 'Take a look at the total electors data for each Parliament constituency in Kerala from 2014 General Elections. When you look carefully, you'll find something unusual about Thrissur. Thrissur had seen an addition of 62,318 votes in 2019, while the same constituency saw an addition of 1,46,656 (2.35x) votes making it the largest constituency in Kerala with 14.83 lakh votes out of nowhere,' it added. The post added that it was reported during the elections that large scale voter registrations were done by BJP a few months before the elections. 'Suresh Gopi's family lives in Sasthamangalam, Thiruvananthapuram. 11 votes were added under the name 'Bharath Heritage' at the Nettissery residence where Suresh Gopi was residing in Thrissur, for adding all his family members to the Thrissur voters list, while they were residing in Thiruvananthapuram. There are many more such additions which resulted in the manipulated voters list, where non-residents of Thrissur were added at scale,' said the Congress.
