OPEN// Sisi voices keenness on regional de-escalation
CAIRO, March 31 (MENA) - President Abdel Fatah El Sisi expressed keenness on de-escalation in the region to prevent violence from spiralling out of control and ensure stability and security for all peoples. This came in a telephone call the president received from President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran on Monday. Presidential spokesman Mohamed El Shennawy said the two leaders exchanged greetings on Eid El Fitr where the Iranian president wished Egypt progress, stability and prosperity. Berri apologises for not receiving well-wishers, prays for unity, advancement, safety & stability
NNA - House Speaker Nabih Berri apologised for not receiving well-wishers on the occasion of Eid El Fitr due to the prevailing situation in Lebanon and the region as a result of Israel's continued attacks on Lebanon and its south, its continued violation of the ceasefire agreement and the provisions of Resolution 1701, and its continued war of extermination against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Egypt: Health, education allocations see significant boost in FY 2025/26 budget, Madbouly
Arab Finance: Health and education allocations in the upcoming fiscal year's (FY) 2025/2026 budget will see significant growth compared to other sectors, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced during his weekly press conference. Moreover, Madbouly addressed economic developments, social protection measures, and major upcoming projects. Madbouly confirmed that the government will submit the FY 2025/2026 draft budget to Parliament by the end of March, in line with constitutional requirements. He highlighted a substantial increase in allocations for social protection programs, particularly the Takaful and Karama program, which will receive EGP 53 billion, up from EGP 40 billion. He also emphasized the government's commitment to financial discipline and spending rationalization while working to reduce debt in the coming years. Additionally, Madbouly assured that Egypt's foreign currency reserves are stable, with regular reviews taking place to ensure financial stability. On housing, Madbouly announced that the government will launch its largest-ever housing initiative after Eid El Fitr, with 400,000 units set to be made available for various social groups, including youth and middle- and low-income citizens. Some of these units will be ready for immediate delivery, while the remainder will be completed within two years. The Prime Minister concluded by stressing the government's focus on export development, following meetings with theAdvisory Committee for Export Development.
