Revealed: Huge difference between what Vinicius Junior wants and what Real Madrid are offering as contract standoff continues

Vinicius Junior 's contract saga at Real Madrid has taken another twist — with fresh claims revealing just how far apart the two parties are in negotiations. The Brazilian winger, who turned 25 last month and celebrated with a lavish two-day party in Rio de Janeiro, is said to be demanding more than €25million net per year to extend his stay at the Bernabeu. According to Spanish radio programme El Larguero, broadcast on Cadena SER, that figure has been deemed excessive by Real Madrid, who are reportedly only willing to offer close to €20m net annually — around £335,000 per week before tax. One source close to the player reportedly told El Larguero that accepting the club's current offer would be 'absurd', adding: 'He wants to earn more than €25m net, regardless of what other players earn.' Vinicius is under contract until June 2027 and has publicly stated he wants to remain in Madrid 'for a long time'. But the ongoing standoff means no new talks are currently scheduled. According to Cadena SER, the forward's entourage have now 'parked' the issue and will not re-enter discussions until 2026 at the earliest. Real Madrid's patience may also be wearing thin. While Vinicius has a huge €1billion release clause, the club are reportedly willing to consider offers if his wage demands don't soften — a startling change of tone considering his status as one of the team's most marketable stars. It's a far cry from the optimism Vinicius expressed earlier this year. Back in February, he said: 'It's very exciting to be able to open talks with Real Madrid about my renewal.' He added: 'God willing, the negotiations will be resolved in the coming days and I'll be able to stay here for much longer.' Vinicius has scored 106 goals in 322 games for Madrid since joining the club as an 18-year-old in 2018.

Carlos Alcaraz admits 'party ban' breach but French Open champ 'can't handle it'

Carlos Alcaraz has spoken out on his decision to continue his annual post-French Open celebration in Ibiza, where he found out that his partying days are numbered Carlos Alcaraz admitted to partying in Ibiza, despite his coach's advice to focus on "disconnecting" from the world instead. The young tennis star jetted off to the island to celebrate his stunning French Open victory. He staged a remarkable comeback from two sets down against Jannik Sinner earlier this month to retain his French Open title. Alcaraz's coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero, told El Larguero that while he wanted the youngster to enjoy himself in the aftermath, the focus should be "no longer about the word 'party', but about disconnecting." ‌ He added: "[It's about] being with his friends and not thinking about tennis and being a normal 22-year-old, and returning to work with enthusiasm." Yet, it seems Alcaraz did manage to unwind during his first night in Ibiza, although he confessed his partying habits have mellowed with age. ‌ In an interview with EFE, the 22-year-old explained that his previous trips to the island were "more lively", but this year he opted for a more subdued celebration of his Roland-Garros triumph. Alcaraz said: "They were fun, but this year was quieter than the previous one. Last year was more lively. I went out on the first night and then didn't go out at night on the other two. "In bed by 12 on Tuesday and Wednesday, although I did go out in the afternoon. I'm getting older and my body can't handle it anymore." Alcaraz went on to discuss the criticism he has faced in the past for attempting to live a relatively normal life as a young adult. He expressed his satisfaction that people's attitudes towards his choices have begun to shift. He said: "There are situations where many people might not agree, where you might think yes, but they don't agree, but in life, I want to make my own mistakes. ‌ "I'm glad that this year, people are telling me to go wherever I want, to disconnect, because the support is good for me in certain situations. Maybe in a few years, I won't be able to go, but now these moments to disconnect are good. "It's probably a tradition. It's mid-season. It's the best time after Roland-Garros for those holidays. It's not so much about where you go, but more about being able to refresh physically. Having that time off is great. And now I can come back with more energy." ‌ When questioned whether his team, including mentor Ferrero, had opposed his plans to visit Ibiza, Alcaraz added: "No, they didn't do it. They knew I was going to be 100%." Reflecting on his remarkable comeback in the French Open, Alcaraz admitted that even he was taken aback by his ability to turn the match around. The eventual winner came back from a two-set deficit to win the final three 6-4, 7-6, 7-6 in an epic five-hour and 29-minute battle. Reflecting on his monumental victory, Alcaraz said: "I keep watching it, and I still can't believe I was able to come back from that." The Spanish player is now back in action at Queen's ahead of his quest for a third straight Wimbledon title. He managed to overcome a tough challenge from Australian lucky loser Adam Walton to secure his place in the last 16.

Difference Between FC Barcelona And Real Madrid Shown By Alarming Stat

More such as El Larguero and El Partidazo de Cope has highlighted a start difference between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. An alarming stat which surfaced on Wednesday night, and was highlighted by Spanish radio programs such as El Larguero and El Partidazo de Cope has highlighted a stark difference between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. La Liga's behemoths experienced polar opposite fortunes in their respective Champions League quarterfinals first leg ties midweek. While defending champion and record 15-time winner Madrid was stuffed 3-0 by Arsenal at the Emirates and has a mountain to climb in the Bernabeu in just under a week, Barca - despite Hansi Flick's claims to the contrary - can perhaps consider itself qualified for the semifinals for the first time since 2019 thanks to thrashing last season's beaten finalist Borussia Dortmund 4-0. Though folk often like to complicate it and spend hours analysing the sport and its intricacies, soccer is sometimes a simple sport with its outcome determined by factors such as who ran more. As highlighted by Spanish radio, Madrid - whose players such as Kylian Mbbappe and Vinicius are being criticized for not mucking in defensively - collectively ran the least of all the teams that contested the UCL last eight at a total of 101.2 kilometers. On the other end of the spectrum, Barca put in 15.5 kilometers more at a total of 115.7 kilometers, with the success of Flick's high-pressing, heavy metal style of play that sees goals scored at will. Yet it must be noted that Barca didn't come out on top overall with the most distance covered by its players. That accolade instead goes to Inter Milan which ran 125.6 kms to Bayern Munich's 123kms when beating that Bavarians 2-1 at the Allianz Arena, where coincidentally the final will be held on May 31. If Barca does indeed get past Dortmund, it is either Milan or Munich that stands in the Blaugrana's way of reaching the decider in the last four. This could serve as a warning that Barca will need to up the ante, though it can take courage from having already beaten Flick's former employers Munich 4-1 in Montjuic back in October as the UCL's new look league phase played out. As has already been explained here before, running - and doing more of it - proved to be the difference in that triumph and the dark 8-2 drubbing in 2020 that Flick orchestrated on the other side of the ball.

Real Madrid Legend Fires Warning To Vinicius Jr. And Ancelotti

Real Madrid legend Predrag Mijatovic sent a warning to the first team's manager Carlo Ancelotti and left winger Vinicius Jr. while appearing on the Cadena SER radio programme El Larguero The scorer of the winning goal against Juventus for Los Blancos, in the 1997/1998 Champions League final, has been vocal on the pair before on Spanish airwaves, and again took to the microphone ahead of Madrid's UCL quarterfinal first leg tie with Real Madrid. Mijatovic first said that 'the match against Arsenal worries me for a simple reason. Arsenal is a lighter version of the Manchester City in their best times, but it is a team that plays well and is uncomfortable [to play against] The former striker doesn't see Ancelotti as being 'calm' at the moment, 'because if he were, we wouldn't talk about his possible departure or continuity having a year on his contract'. 'At Real Madrid no coach, regardless of the results he has achieved, can ever be calm. He can only be when he is presented and when he wins a title,' Mijatovic added. 'Madrid's pressure keeps the coaches on their toes. You can never relax. And that's not bad. [President] Florentino Perez does very well to have coaches under this pressure. And also the players.' As for Ballon d'Or runner up Vinicius, who was whistled in the Bernabeu during last Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Valencia, Mijatovic said that there are Los Blancos supporters 'who don't want Vinicius to leave are worried and a little angry'. 'He is a player who has triumphed and who has stood out in important games. But he also has a character with unexpected reactions that has made the fans a little angry.' 'Vinicius is a proud player, but Real Madrid always gives much more to the players than they give to the club. Vinicius has to know that Madrid is above all the players and he has to calm down a little. The Bernabeu has whistled all of humanity, including me,' Mijatovic concluded.

Albert Luque Sparks Controversy for Derogatory Remarks on Diaz, African Football

Rabat – Retired Spanish football player Albert Luque recently sparked a controversy for his derogatory remarks against Morocco and African football. Luque made his negative claims in a recent interview with Cadena SER radio program El Larguero. Belittling Africa's power The comments belittled the quality and development of football in Africa, ignoring the continent's contribution to the global football scene. Talented African athletes regularly play for top clubs in prestigious competitions like La Liga, the Champions League and other outstanding leagues, with many other clubs from across Europe embracing African players to strengthen their squads. In the interview, he specifically commented on Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz' decision to represent Morocco over Spain. 'Did it hurt him? I think it hurt him the most not to lift the European Championship. It is not the same to play with Italy as with Kenya,' he claimed. His remarks come amid celebrations for Diaz' outstanding performances with Real Madrid. International media has been commending the Atlas Lion's play with the Los Blancos, contributing to the club's triumphs across La Liga games. In denial, Luque also went on to ignore recent remarks made by international football giants, commending Diaz' appearances with Real Madrid as well as his contributions to Morocco's AFCON qualifier games, in which he scored six goals. Claims on Yamal's choice Turning the conversation to other players of Moroccan origin, Luque also suggested he had a conversation with the father of FC Barcelona player Lamine Yamal. He claimed that the football player's father said that Lamine Yamal faced threats for his choice to represent Spain over Morocco. 'And when we spoke to [Lamine Yamal] him he told me: 'I want to be European champion, they are pressuring me from all sides but I want to play with Spain'. This was before he debuted,' Luque said. 'The father was more complicated. He told me that in Morocco they were going to kill him. He told me some things that it is better not to talk about. His mother is the person Lamine has to lean on the most. She asked me if I wanted him to be with Spain and I lied to her, I told her that it was because he was very prepared and not because of [the threat from] Morocco,' he further claimed. Morocco has been subject to similar rumors from Spanish media as there has been a rise in football players choosing to represent the national team over Spain and other countries, which has struck a nerve among many. When Morocco approached Lamine to convince him to join the Atlas Lions, Spanish media alleged that the North African country put financial pressure on the FC Barcelona star. In October 2023, President of Morocco's Football Federation (FRMF) addressed the controversy and rumors, describing them as poor and unfounded. 'I challenge any Moroccan player to confirm that we exerted pressure or engaged in bargaining with them in one way or another. I reflect the opposite and say that it is an honor for any player to wear the national jersey,' Lekjaa said in an interview with Al Sharq. Spanish outlet AS also contributed to spreading the claims that Morocco was exerting pressure on Yamal to choose Morocco over Spain. 'The pressure from Morocco on the player has not stopped, and the North African Federation even presented him with a financial offer, which the footballer declined, in order to persuade him to play under Regragui, before the Spanish youth teams' coordinator visited him in Barcelona,' AS claimed. A troubled past of his own In addition to his career on the field, Albert Luque served as Spain's former men's national team director but was sacked in 2024 as part of the fallout from a scandal in which former president Luis Rubiale unconsensually kissed Spanish footballer Jenifer Hermoso. Luque was suspended on the grounds of being accused of coercion due to his involvement in the corruption investigation. Reports in 2023 revealed alleged WhatsApp messages that Luque sent to a close friend of Hermoso during the fallout. 'She deserves nothing due to her baseness and her lack of empathy and humanity with Rubiales,' the messages reportedly read . Tags: African footballBrahim Diazlamine yamal
