Elden Ring Nightreign Patch 1.02 and Everdark Sovereign upcoming updates postponed by FromSoftware due to tsunami threat

FromSoftware has officially delayed the release of Elden Ring Nightreign Patch 1.02 and the upcoming Everdark Sovereign second cycle. The reason behind the delay is an active tsunami warning in Japan. However, with the news of this delay, the studio has also provided the new date for the two upcoming update releases. Here is all you need to know about it. FromSoftware postpones the Patch release and event amidst safety concerns Citing immediate safety concerns, FromSoftware Inc. announced on X about the delay for Nightreign Patch 1.02 and the second cycle of Everydark Sovereign update release. The decision is the result of the active tsunami warning Japan, which as per updates, was triggered by a powerful earthquake nearby Kamchatka Peninsula. The natural disaster threat has put Japan on high alert. The Patch that was originally meant to be released on July 30, 2025. Though, it has now been scheduled for July 31, 2025, and will be released at 10:00 AM CEST/1:00 AM PDT. Consequently, Everydark Sovereign's new cycle will begin after the updated Patch is successfully delivered to the players. As expected, it will be available a day later. What is coming with the delayed updates? The new Patch 1.02 was supposed to introduce the Duo Expeditions. It's a new co-op feature that will allow two players to tackle a challenge together. Along with it, there were also some scheduled quality-of-life improvements to be released, including better relic filtering that would enhance inventory management. The update is highly anticipated since the launch of Elden Ring Nightreign, and it promises deeper gameplay to players. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Along with game updates postponed, there's also delay in Everdark Sovereign cycle which was about to introduce some notorious enemies, like Nightlords Tricephalos and Equilibrious Beast's stronger versions. The enhanced foes are expected to ramp up the difficulty level and test even the veteran Nightfarers. However, now with the delay in the release, the players will have to wait an extra day before they face the intensified threats. Elden Ring Nightreign's upcoming updates are worth the wait S ince the release of the game in May 2025, it has carved out its identity as a survival-roguelike spin-off. The game has sold 5 million copies. Feature's unique blend offered by Elden Ring Nightreign ensured to keep players engaged. Every update expanded the player's experience. Current updates delay, though, it might seem disappointing, but should not reduce the excitement for what is coming next in Nightreign. The cautious approach of FromSoftware reflects upon the commitment of the studio to both their team and players. With the tsunami warning still active, the studio is now vigilant to ensure a smoother rollout of upcoming updates, but only after it remains safe to proceed. For now, as fans, let's just hope for everyone's safety in Japan.

Elden Ring Nightreign Patch 1.02 will arrive next week, and it'll make things much easier for solo players

Elden Ring Nightreign patch 1.02 is on its way next week, making some improvements to the solo experience that should make it much easier for those playing on their own. In a tweet, the official Elden Ring account said that Elden Ring Nightreign patch 1.02 will be released next week, "and will include several bug fixes as well as improvements for solo expeditions." More info is coming next week, but FromSoft has offered a few details about those solo offerings. For instance, you'll now get an 'Automatic Revival Upon Defeat' option, allowing solo players to revive once per night boss battle, for a total of three revives over the course of an expedition. In addition to that, you'll get more runes in solo, but we've not got a sense of quite how many more runes - presumably it won't be triple, but you'd hope that it'll be worth the while of those players who do make the choice to play on their own. As of now, however, there's no word on duos - Elden Ring Nightreign's Steam reviews are some of the lowest that FromSoftware has ever had, and one of the biggest concerns is the lack of two-player options. FromSoft has said it's considering a two-player mode for post-launch support, but that's likely to be some way down the line. Thankfully, there is one option - a two-player Elden Ring Nightreign mod from the creator of Dark Souls and Armored Ring multiplayer mods - but that's only useful for PC players who are happy to tinker. By the way, if you're wondering why this is Elden Ring Nightreign Patch 1.02 and not 1.01, that's because the latter has already been released. Elden Ring Nightreign patch 1.01 dropped before the game was even out, but it was a relatively vague mix of character improvements and balance adjustments, and we don't yet actually know what it changed.
