Go out.. Participate
Elham Aboul Fateh Tomorrow, millions will head to the polling stations to elect members of the Senate, following the conclusion of overseas voting, which took place over the past two days in more than 100 countries around the world. Our embassies and consulates witnessed a distinguished turnout from members of the Egyptian community, who affirmed their loyalty towards their homeland and their willingness to contribute to its democratic process. Now it's our turn at home. We have a real opportunity to participate in building the future by choosing our representatives in the Senate. In light of the electoral silence that began yesterday, during which campaigning ceases, this is the time to review the candidates' positions and choose those worthy of trust, based on competence, vision, and the ability to serve the nation. The Senate is not merely a constitutional institution; it is a legislative chamber with a significant role in discussing laws and supporting the state in formulating public policies. Its membership includes figures from diverse fields, including economics, education, law, health, culture, and media. Therefore, carefully selecting members represents an important step in enhancing legislative performance and supporting the state's stability. More than 27,000 polling stations have been set up across all governorates, under full judicial supervision, with comprehensive security, and facilities for the elderly and people with special needs, ensuring a smooth and safe election process for every citizen. Participation in the elections is a national responsibility toward our current and future generations, participation means we are supporting stability. Egyptian women have proven that they can bear the responsibility as President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi calls them "the great women of Egypt," the Egyptian woman, who is the backbone of the Egyptian family, has proven in every situation that she is also the backbone of the nation and its solid pillars. Their participation tomorrow is an extension of their true role in building the nation. At the same time, we hope that future elections will witness a broader diversity of lists and choices, and that parties will compete with clear and serious platforms to satisfy citizens and gain their trust. Democracy thrives when there are multiple alternatives and everyone competes to serve the nation. In the last Senate elections, turnout did not exceed 14%. Today, we need to raise this percentage to prove that we are a people who participate, care, and shape our future. Go out... Participate. Participate for your country. Participate for your children. Participate to be part of the decision. Long live Egypt... always with participation, will, and an aware people. read more Analysis- Turkey Has 0 Regional Allies... Why? Analysis: Russia, Turkey... Sirens are sounding
Elham Aboul Fateh Sirens are sounding. The heat is intensifying, the humidity is stifling, and the sea is closed to vacationers. The sirens are sounding to warn us of the impending danger. For weeks, there have been warnings and bans on entering the sea along the beaches due to the water temperature, high waves, and the risk of heat stress, which can occur even in the water. An unusual scene at this time of year. All over the world, the same images are repeated: intense heat waves, uncontrolled forest fires, and unseasonably heavy rains. The seasons no longer follow their order, and the weather is no longer predictable. Millions of people feel a clear shift in weather patterns and temperatures, in cities and countryside, in the north and south alike. This climate disruption did not come out of nowhere. For decades, major industrialized nations have continued to pollute the atmosphere without a real commitment to reducing emissions. Developing countries, meanwhile, are paying the price: drought, resource shortages, and declining food production. Since the signing of the Paris Agreement in 2015, pledges to reduce emissions and transition to clean energy have been repeated. But the reality is different. Implementation is slow, and the commitments emerging from climate conferences, Sharm el-Sheikh, Dubai and Azerbaijan, remain stuck on paper. As the Brazil conference approaches by the end of the year, the question remains: When will promises be turned into action? Climate change has already begun and will not wait. In many parts of the world, soil is weakening, seawater is creeping toward land, and people's lives are disrupted by unpredictable weather. Many families are reorganizing their days based on the temperature and the hours when they can go outside or turn on the air conditioning. Anxiety has become a part of everyday conversation. In homes, in schools, on farms, and on beaches, people are wondering: What's happening? What's next? In Egypt, despite the largely stable electricity grid, fears of overload persist, especially with the increased use of air conditioning. Awareness is emerging and behavior is changing, but this alone is not enough to confront the crisis. What we are experiencing today is not just a weather disturbance, but a global transformation that requires a collective response. A crisis that cannot be resolved by individual decisions, but by genuine international solidarity based on justice and effective participation in solutions, not simply slogans. The sirens have sounded, but no one is listening or responding. A new era is taking shape. We must either confront it with awareness and responsibility, or let it surprise us with irreparable consequences. read more Analysis- Turkey Has 0 Regional Allies... Why? Analysis: Russia, Turkey... Proactive Steps Are More Important
Elham Aboul Fateh A recent rumour has raised concerns about widespread infections and deaths in poultry farms. Some have also spoken of widespread disease and a lack of vaccinations. With the rapid spread of the news on social media, concern among everyone—breeders, traders, and consumers—grew. However, an official response came quickly from the Ministry of Agriculture and General Organization For Veterinary Services to deny this rumor. They announced that no unnatural deaths had been recorded, and that all veterinary vaccinations are available in all governorates. Veterinary monitoring teams are monitoring farm conditions daily, and no epidemic outbreaks have been detected. The swift response came in a timely manner to reassure everyone and dismiss the malicious rumor. This is undoubtedly a good thing. But amid these reassurances, the question remains: How do we prevent these concerns from recurring? And when do we move from reaction to proactive planning? The poultry industry in Egypt has made great strides in recent years, and we have reached self-sufficiency. There are even exports to Arab and African markets. However, to date, significant challenges are facing farmers, such as high costs, sometimes difficult access to vaccinations, and a lack of awareness in some areas. It is important to strive to achieve strong and stable self-sufficiency in poultry, by supporting farmers, as 80% of production comes from them in addition to developing breeding systems to be safer and more productive and ensuring the availability of feed and vaccinations at reasonable prices. Transparency must be ensured, and any health problems that arise in any region must be immediately reported. Coordination must be maintained among all responsible authorities, and farmers must not be left to face challenges alone. The rumor was dismissed, and the reassurances came just in time. However, the real work must begin to develop this industry, which represents a fundamental pillar of food security. What is required is not only to respond to crises, but also to prepare for them before they begin, and to work toward achieving strong self-sufficiency that every farmer and every consumer can feel. read more Analysis- Turkey Has 0 Regional Allies... Thank you, Mr. President
Elham Aboul Fateh President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi announced serious and swift measures, to be implemented immediately, during the Labor Day celebrations, which I was honored to attend on Saturday. The measures include raising the minimum emergency fund benefit from EGP 600 to EGP 1,500, directing the House of Representatives to expedite discussions on the new labor law, and supporting the establishment of an integrated training center to prepare youth for the labor market according to international standards, launching a national strategy to promote the culture of occupational safety and secure the work environment, increasing employment among women and disabled ones, and expanding inspections of workplaces to enforce the minimum wage. The President's remarks were not merely a traditional salute to workers, but rather practical measures that touch the daily lives of Egyptian workers. They affirm that the state is not satisfied with symbolic honors, but is working to improve the conditions of those who shape this country's economy. The choice of Suez as the venue for the celebration was excellent since the city is witnessing a major industrial boom, and during the celebration, we witnessed a number of important projects in the economic zone northwest of the Gulf of Suez. The message we get from this day is that production continues, factories are being built, and the state is betting on industry as a path to true economic stability. The president spoke in clear and direct language, linking the workers' appreciation to actions on the ground, in workshops and factories, where daily life is conducted despite the challenges. He said clearly, "Young people don't need promises, but rather real actions." President Sisi emphasized that workers must feel that their rights are protected and that there are policies to protect their efforts and guarantee them a fair life in light of the high cost of living and the challenges we all face. This year's celebration was more than just an occasion. It was a declaration that the state continues to support those who work hard and strive, building with them every brick on the road to the new republic. To every worker, the message was clear: You are not alone, and the state sees you and is working with you for a better tomorrow. Thank you, Mr. President. read more Analysis- Turkey Has 0 Regional Allies... Why? Analysis: Russia, Turkey... Libya in Return For Syria? Analysis: Who Will Gain Trump's Peace Plan Fruits?
