State corrections officer accused of sexually assaulting female inmates

May 16—A New Mexico corrections officer was arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting four women at a Grants prison. Elijah Williams, 21, is charged with four counts of criminal sexual conduct and battery. He turned himself in on Thursday and is being held at the Cibola County Detention Center. It is unclear who Williams' attorney is. "We acted immediately, terminating the individual and notifying State Police," New Mexico Corrections Secretary Alisha Tafoya Lucero said in a statement. "We have zero tolerance for any misconduct, and any officer or staff member who engages in misconduct will be fully removed and referred for criminal prosecution to the fullest extent." On April 16, New Mexico State Police received a call of an assault at the Western New Mexico Correctional Women's Facility. A female inmate told police she was sexually assaulted by a correctional officer, later identified as Williams, according to an arrest warrant filed in Cibola County Magistrate Court. The woman told police that on March 23, she was working in a pod when Williams asked her to go outside to see an owl. Once outside, Williams asked if she had tattoos on her chest and she showed him the tattoos, the arrest warrant states. The woman told police Williams took out gloves and said, "Turn around, you know how to pop it?" She said "yes" and did an "exotic" dance before he grabbed her butt and chest, pulled down his pants and forced her to touch his genitals, according to the arrest warrant. Another woman told police she was afraid of losing her job because Williams is "a little pervert and has been (expletive) with her" and another woman. Prison surveillance showed Williams going outside and calling out one of the women, the arrest warrant states. When police asked Williams why it took a while to come back, Williams told them it was because they were talking about who was coming in on the next shift. When police asked Williams how far he took it, his face drooped then he told them he touched both inmates, but added they "lured me in," the arrest warrant states. Asked why he put on latex gloves, he told police it was "probably to hide DNA." He later told police he had showed the women his "junk," according to the arrest warrant. On April 24 and May 7, two other women told police Williams used the same owl ruse to lure them outside before touching them inappropriately, police said. He put one of them in a chokehold, forcing them to touch his genitals before she freed herself, the arrest warrant states. Police said the woman in the chokehold told Williams: "Dude, don't ever touch me like that again. I'm about to get out of prison, and you're a (expletive) idiot."

Minnesota Vikings Sign Two More Rookies

The NFL offseason never quits, something that has helped make the Minnesota Vikings the straw that stirs the local sports drink. In the same month as the Super Bowl (February), the league holds the next year's NFL Draft combine. One month later, we get the fastest moving, most exciting free agency two weeks in all of professional sports. Then April rolls around and we get the draft. Now, here we are on May 12, what could the MN Vikings possibly have in the news in the middle of May? There, the Vikings hosted all 25+ of their drafted rookies and signed undrafted free agents, along with 20+ other more desperate football players –including Randy Moss' son Montigo Moss (Maine) — who were neither drafted or signed. Texas A&M baseball lands commitment from top 2026 LHP out of Oklahoma

Texas A&M baseball lands commitment from top 2026 LHP out of Oklahoma Texas A&M adds another 2026 commit to the growing 2026 pitching staff. On Wednesday, left-handed pitcher Elijah Williams, out of Norman, OK, announced via social media that he will start his college career in Bryan-College Station after decommitting from Oklahoma in December. Aggie prospect Elijah Williams is an elite two-way player who's ranked as one of the best players in the state. His trio of fastball, slider, and change-up makes him almost impossible to hit. Williams can also hit as well as anyone in Oklahoma, putting his talent on display, earning Prep Baseball Oklahoma's Player of the Week when he threw a 13-strikeout no-hitter while going 9 of 16 at the plate. The Texas A&M coaching staff, led by Michael Earley, is prioritizing depth in pitching by recruiting and developing younger players. William's commitment is vital to strengthening future pitching rosters. Given the team's challenges with relievers this season, securing talented pitchers like Williams will ensure depth and success for Texas A&M's baseball program. Leveraging the transfer portal to fill gaps while nurturing recruits underscores the team's strategic approach to long-term performance. Below, you can see the announcement on X. Dirtiest American city revealed; It's not New York or Los Angeles

If you thought that New York City or Los Angeles are the dirtiest cities in the United States, you may be wrong. The authors of a House Fresh report have revealed that the most unclean city in the US is actually Baltimore, Maryland. This is mainly based on the numerous complaints issued to 311 about cleanliness. Baltimore is also known as one of the major hubs of crime and poverty in the United States, and now this is yet another 'feather' in the cap of the city. Nearly 47,000 sanitation complaints were raised per 100,000 residents in the city, says the House Fresh statistics. After Baltimore comes Sacramento, California, where 34,186 complaints were raised per 100,000 residents who called the 311 hotline. Meanwhile, city officials in these regions are claiming that the 311 helpline is used by Americans for multiple everyday purposes. Officials also said that they encourage residents to use the hotline for various purposes. New York City is ranked 17th on this list, beating Los Angeles, Boston, Nashville, and Chicago among some of the top metro cities of the United States. Los Angeles currently stands 4th on this list, with nearly 21,616 complaints received per 100,000 residents. Interestingly, Boston is also in the top 10 of this list by House Fresh, with 10,252 complaints. Among the significantly "less dirty" cities lies Milwaukee, with just 309 complaints per 100,000 population, followed by Riverside, Philly, and Austin, which also have quite less numbers. Meanwhile, the cleanest part of the United States was observed to be in the Houston area, with just 19 residents in 77546 raising a sanitation complaint. A few other zip codes in Houston also had lower complaint rates, says the House Fresh report.
