Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center holds Easter Egg Hunt
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — There are lots of Easter Egg hunts going on this Easter weekend and that includes the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center here in Sioux City. Around 70 kids showed up for the center's first ever Easter egg hunt. There were over 500 eggs spread throughout the property for kids to collect. There were also other activities like a coloring table and foam animals to play with. The hope is that it will also get kids interested in coming back to the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. 'I hope the kids really get a chance to have a lot of fun, win a bunch of prizes and really connect with our center,' said Elizabeth Albright, the Education and Events Coordinator at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. 'I really want this space to be very special for kids to come and enjoy with their families. Each child received a gift bag of different goodies from the interpretive center. Native Siouxland crop in focus for latest installment of weekly event series
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Sioux City's Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center has Native American history and heritage in focus for the latest installment of their 'What's on Wednesday' series. On Wednesday, March 26 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., kids and families can stop by to learn about maize, a crop native to Siouxland. Education Coordinator Elizabeth Albright will also lead attendees in making their own beaded Indian Corn. Attendees will also have a chance to design a bushel, a kind of basket meant to carry dry goods, and to complete some activity pages. Betty Strong Encounter Center to host St. Patrick's Day-themed ‘What's on Wednesday' event
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Sioux City's Betty Strong Encounter Center continues its series of 'What's on Wednesday' events with a family-friendly, holiday-themed craft project. Sioux City Railroad Museum reopens after months of repairs The March 12 edition of the weekly event series will begin at 5:30 p.m. and run through 6:30. Education Coordinator Elizabeth Albright will lead attendees in making a St. Patrick's Day-themed mobile to take home. The event will also give kids and families a chance to talk about the things they feel 'lucky' to have in their lives. The class is free and open to all families with children. First phase of PlyWood Trail project now open to the public Each week, the 'What's on Wednesday' events switch between focusing on a family or grown-up audience.
