Egypt condemns terrorist attack on tourists in Kashmir

CAIRO – 23 April 2025: Egypt has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted tourists in the Indian-controlled Kashmir region on Tuesday, leaving dozens of civilians killed and injured. In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs on Wednesday, Egypt extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of India, as well as victims' families, wishing the wounded speedy recovery. Egypt emphasized its full solidarity with India in the face of all forms of violence and terrorism that threaten the country's security and stability.

CAIRO, March 8 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdelatty on Saturday emphasized the importance of mobilizing international support to implement Gaza Early Recovery, Reconstruction, and Development Plan. Abdelatty made the remarks during a meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Mustafa on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-CFM). The meeting tackled the outcomes of the extraordinary Arab Summit and the Gaza plan for Early Recovery, Reconstruction, and Development that was endorsed by Arab Summit and the OIC-CFM. The meeting took up arrangements for hosting Gaza Reconstruction Conference by Egypt, in collaboration with the Palestinian government and the United Nations. The Palestinian prime minister commended efforts of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to host the Arab Summit in Cairo as well as support provided by Egypt to back the Palestinian issue. Mustafa said that he is looking forward to the convocation of the rebuilding conference, with a view to contributing to securing finance of the implementation of the Arab reconstruction and early recovery plan. CAIRO, March 8 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdelatty on Saturday hailed brotherly and historic relations between Egypt and Somalia, affirming Egypt's continued keenness on supporting Somalia's stability and security. Abdelatty made the remarks during a meeting with Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ahmed Moallim Fiqi on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-CFM). The session offered an important opportunity for addressing the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and the attempts to displace them from their land. It was convened at the request of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Palestine, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, at the OIC General Secretariat in Jeddah on Friday, March 7, 2025. Egypt will continue supporting Somalia's efforts to boost Security and stability along with expanding cooperation in all domains, Abdelatty said. He underscored the importance of building on momentum witnessed by bilateral relations between Egypt and Somalia, promoting cooperation within the framework of the joint ministerial committee to follow up the outputs of the trilateral summit between Egypt, Somalia and Eritrea on October 10, 2024 in the Eritrean capital, Asmara. Abdelatty and Fiqi commended elevating bilateral relations between Egypt and Somalia to the level of strategic partnership that has been declared during the visit of Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to Cairo on January 24, 2025 in a move that fosters cooperation between the two countries, services the interests of both peoples, and contributes to achieving stability and development in the region. They emphasized willingness to work together towards supporting security and stability in the Horn of Africa region and the Red Sea. The two ministers discussed developments in the Horn of Africa region, stressing the importance of intensifying joint coordination to address security challenges facing the region. They also discussed progress achieved in the formation of African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), in line with Somalia's vision to attain security and stability. The meeting took up updates in the Gaza Strip, with Abdelatty reviewing Egyptian efforts aimed at consolidating the ceasefire agreement in the enclave and implementing its three phases. The two sides also discussed Arab and Islamic moves within the framework of OIC to mobilize international support for the Arab plan for reconstruction in Gaza as well as the outcomes of the Cairo Summit.(MENA) A A E/Y R E
