EAF dedicates Gulf Beach Games achievements to UAE's leadership
The Emirates Aerosports Federation (EAF) has dedicated the achievements of the 3rd Gulf Beach Games 2025 currently being held in Oman to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai and Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, Crown Princes and to the people of the UAE. UAE national paragliding team star Abdullah Nasser Al Hammadi bagged two gold medals at the Gulf Beach Games in Muscat. The UAE paragliding team returned from Oman on Monday, and Yousef Hassan Al Hammadi, Vice President of the Emirates Aerosports Federation, expressed his great happiness with this achievement. Hammadi extended his congratulations to Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE National Olympic Committee, as well as to Faris Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee, Ghanem Mubarak Rashid Al Hajeri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports, Sheikh Suhail Bin Butti Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Sports Development Sector at the Ministry of Sports, Dr. Ali Mohammed Al Shumaili, Deputy Head of Mission at the UAE Embassy in Muscat, Nasser Al Neyadi, President of the Emirates Aerosports Federation, and Mohammed Bin Darwish, Executive Director of the National Olympic Committee, all of whom were present in Oman. The UAE delegation is participating with a team of 77 male and female athletes, representing the country in eight beach sports disciplines including football, handball, volleyball, athletics, tent pegging, sailing, swimming, and paragliding.

UAE's paraglider Hammadi bags another gold at 3rd Gulf Beach Games in Muscat
Abdullah Nasser Al Hammadi, a member of the UAE national paragliding team, has claimed his second gold medal at the 3rd Gulf Beach Games Muscat 2025, further adding to the UAE's growing medal tally. His latest triumph brings the nation's gold count to three — two by Hammadi in paragliding events and one by the national sailing team in the Optimist team category. The UAE also secured a silver medal in the aerosports sports team competition. Hammadi won gold in both the target landing and cone knocking (paragliding bowling) events. The national paragliding team claimed silver in the overall team category, which included Abdullah Nasser, Mohammed Abdullah Al Jasmi, Tariq Al Obaidli, Mohammed Jaber, and Rashid Al Samahi. The UAE delegation celebrated the achievements of the national paragliding team, which secured three medals — two gold and one silver — at the 3rd Gulf Beach Games in Muscat. Nasser Al Neyadi, President of the Emirates Aerosports Federation, hailed the results as the culmination of years of training and institutional backing. 'On behalf of the Emirates Aerosports Federation, we dedicate this proud accomplishment to our wise leadership and the UAE National Olympic Committee, in recognition of their continued support and visionary approach that fosters excellence and builds champions,' he said. He added: 'We extend heartfelt congratulations to our athletes and reaffirm our commitment to supporting their journey of success. These achievements enrich the UAE's distinguished sporting record, with the national paragliding team capturing two golds and a silver — underscoring the country's leadership in air sports.' Neyadi also thanked the UAE National Olympic Committee for its sustained support and its role in creating an ideal environment for nurturing sporting talent and enabling strong representation at both regional and international levels. Commenting on his victory, Hammadi said: 'I am proud to be part of this historic accomplishment. I dedicate it to my country, our leaders, and everyone who believed in us. Thank you to all who contributed to making this possible.' Yousef Al Hammadi, Vice President of the Emirates Aerosports Federation, also expressed pride in the national team's performance. 'This success reflects the dedication and unity of our athletes, coaches, and staff, who work together with a shared mission to raise the UAE flag high on podiums across the region. These results are a testament to their hard work and our commitment to excellence,' he said. Meanwhile, the UAE men's beach handball team secured a second consecutive win after defeating Bahrain 2–1 in a penalty shootout. The team had previously beaten Saudi Arabia by the same margin, following an opening loss to Oman. They will face Oman again on Wednesday as part of the tournament's round-robin format, where each team meets twice. In beach football, the UAE national team opened their campaign with a 4–1 victory over Saudi Arabia and is scheduled to play Bahrain on Wednesday in their second group-stage fixture. The national sailing team concluded the first day of individual races with promising performances. Khalifa Ahmed Al Rumaithi led the Optimist class, while Othman Abdul Karim Al Hammadi topped the ILCA 6 (Men's) category. Among the women, Dhohaa Al Beshr led the ILCA 6, and Marwa Al Hammadi placed first in the ILCA 4. Adel Khalid Al Bastaki finished second in the ILCA 7 class, with Mohammed Marwan Al Marzouqi taking third in the ILCA 4 (Men's). Kamilia Khalifa Al Qubaisi and Alyazia Hassan Al Hammadi both secured third place in the ILCA 6 and ILCA 4 (Women's), respectively. Final standings will be confirmed at the conclusion of the races on Thursday. Elsewhere, the UAE athletics team held their first training session after arriving in Muscat, preparing for the competition ahead. On Wednesday, Mohammed Hassan Khairi Al Noubi and Salem Ali Hassan Al Baloushi will compete in the men's 60m sprint, while Fatima Al Baloushi and Mahra Abdulrahim will participate in the women's 60m sprint. Salem Ali Hassan Al Baloushi will also take part in the long jump.

6th Sharjah International Paragliding Championship ends on successful note
Under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Executive Council, the 6th Sharjah International Paragliding Championship concluded successfully. The event took place at Jebel Faya in Sharjah, amidst enthusiastic crowds, wonderful weather, and an ideal take-off and landing site—arguably the best in the world. A total of 58 male and female competitors from 17 countries participated, including some of the world's top paragliders. The championship, organized by the Emirates Aerosports Federation, concluded with a large in the presence of Eisa Hilal Al-Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, Nasser Hamouda Al-Neyadi, President of the Emirates Aerosports Federation, Youssef Hassan Al-Hammadi, Vice President of the Emirates Aerosports Federation Federation, Mohammed Youssef Abdulrahman, Secretary General, Youssef Al Shahi, and Abdullah Murad Obaid Salmeen (Championship Director), along with members of the federation's Board of Directors. Officials from government institutions in Sharjah, event sponsors, and team representatives were also present on the occasion. The Belarusian team, led by Yauheni Viktor, took first place, winning the team trophy with 194 points. The Saudi team, led by Mohammed Abdul Mutal, came second with 375 points and earned the silver trophy, while the UAE team, led by Abdullah Nasser, took third place and received the bronze trophy with 398 points. In the individual men's category, Sergei Osanov took first place and the gold medal with 13 points. In second place, Ilyas Yaksi earned the silver medal with 20 points, followed by his teammate Yauheni Viktor and Saudi pilot Mohammed Abdul Mutal, who both scored 20 points and shared third place, earning the bronze medal. In the women's individual category, the Russian Ekaterina won the gold medal with 320 points. In second place, the Kazakhstani Alina earned the silver medal with 584 points, while Judy Nasri from Syria came third with 648 points, securing the bronze medal. The closing ceremony also included the honoring of the event's officials, judges, and key figures supporting the event, such as the Sharjah Sports Council, Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, Sharjah Civil Aviation, Sharjah Police, Sharjah Municipality, Al Mleiha Municipality, Al Bataeh Municipality, Sharjah Civil Defense, Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, Caravan Association, and others

Tanay triumph at EEIPC International Indoor Skydiving Championship
Gulf Today, Staff reporter The Russian team Tanay were crowned champions at the EEIPC 2025 International Indoor Skydiving Championship held at CLYMB, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The championship witnessed intense competition among the participating world-class teams, as the Tanay 8 way team managed to achieve a perfect score in three out of ten rounds, topping the overall standings with a score of 224 points and a record average of 22.40 points. The five-day event concluded at the world's biggest indoor skydiving flight chamber. The award ceremony was held at Yas Marina Circuit's Ferrari venue, which was attended by Yousif Hassan Al Hammadi, Vice President of the Emirates Aerosports Federation, Mohammed Yousif Abdulrahman, Secretary-General of the federation, Hussein Mohammed Al Hosani, Deputy General Manager of CLYMB Yas Island, Andrey Shulovsky, chairman of the championship's Organizing Committee, and delegations from participating countries. They all enjoyed the spectacular performances delivered by the world's best skydivers inside the impressive and record-breaking wind tunnel. Team Tanay dominated the competition, earning the gold medal and excelling in both the 8-way and 16-way formation events. In the 16-way formation, they scored 141 points with an average of 17.63 points, achieving a significant lead over second-place team Kazakhstan's Nomads, who scored 110 points with a 13.75-point average. From January 20 to 24, the event gathered 200 of the world's top indoor skydivers from over 20 countries as they vied for five thrilling days of gravity-defying action, breathtaking formations and jaw-dropping displays of aerial artistry. It was under the umbrella of the Emirates Aerosports Federation, further cementing the UAE's position as a global hub for hosting international sports events.
