Emtee responds to leaked messages with public apology to 'Big Brother' star Mshini Lekwadu

Image: Instagram Emtee has addressed the controversy surrounding leaked private messages between himself and former 'Big Brother Mzansi: Umlilo' contestant Sphesihle 'Mshini' Lekwadu, taking to Instagram to issue a public apology. In two screenshots from his notes app, posted on Tuesday with the caption 'I am sorry', Emtee shared a lengthy statement in which he exempted himself from the way the messages surfaced online. He said he does not know Mshini personally, but, like many viewers, watched her on 'Big Brother' and noticed how she supported his work. According to Emtee, it is rare for him to see such genuine support because he is often unsure of where he stands with people. The award-winning rapper also apologised directly to Lekwadu, her team and her loved ones, saying he would never deliberately reveal their private conversations or jeopardise her safety. 'I would never intentionally expose our conversations and put her safety at risk as I prioritise safety as well,' he said. Emtee further insisted that he was not responsible for making the screenshots public, adding in capital letters, 'I DID NOT POST THE CONVERSATIONS.' This comes after his wife, Nicole Kendall Chinsamy, shared screenshots of his private chats with multiple women, including Lekwadu, sparking cheating allegations. This led to Lekwadu issuing a statement to clarify the private conversation she had with the rapper. Both Emtee and the reality star have since maintained that their exchanges were nothing more than professional.

The marital issues of South African rapper Emtee have once again taken centre stage, after his wife Nicole shared screenshots of direct messages he's had with other women. Among the women is Big Brother Mzansi star Mshini Lekwadu. However, she has come out to clarify the nature of their conversations, pouring water on infidelity allegations. 'I would like to address recent screenshots circulating on social media regarding my private messages with Emtee. While in the Big Brother house, I openly supported Emtee because I am genuinely a fan of his music. After the show, he reached out to me via DM to express his appreciation for my support. I responded by telling him I am a fan and that I would love to be part of one of his future music videos. 'Over time, we had brief interactions via DM, and in his last message he asked when he could visit and where I stayed. I responded with my address under the impression that our conversation was strictly business-related and in line with my support for his music. 'The screenshots shared publicly only show the part where I sent my address, without full context. This is misleading and does not reflect the nature of our conversations. My intention was purely professional, and I take my brand, my supporters, and my reputation very seriously.' Emtee went live on Instagram, expressing his interest in pursuing a relationship with Mshini. However, he later released a statement apologising to Mshini, her team and loved ones for sharing their private conversations without her consent. 'I do not know Mshini personally. Like most people I watched her on Big brother and witnessed how she supports my craft. This is something rare for me to see because I never know where I stand with people or how people feel about me. 'I know l'm not perfect. Very far from it but I have heart and empathy. My intention was to meet her personally and thank her. She has been nothing but kind to me and I appreciated that. I'm 'married' so l had no other intention but to say thank you and figure out a way we could work together since she is a public figure, a hard worker and a good person in general from what I see. 'I would like to extend an apology to Mshini, her team and loved ones. I would never intentionally expose our conversations and put her safety at risk as I prioritise safety as well.'

In his apology for leaked private conversations, rapper Emtee has cleared himself of being unfaithful to his wife after screenshots of conversations between him and other women on Instagram went viral on Monday. The screenshots which were shared on his Instagram stories are suspected to have been leaked by Emtee's wife, Nicole Chinsamy. Mshini Lekwadu, who was a contestant on the recent season of Big Brother Mzansi, is one of the women whose private conversation with the rapper was leaked on Monday. In the screenshot conversations, after the exchange of pleasantries, the Roll–Up rapper asks where Mshini lives, to which she responds by sharing her address. Emtee then asks when he could visit the content creator, who is a tutor by profession. In her response, Mshini says that the artist may visit her that Friday. 'I know I'm not perfect. Very far from it but I have heart and empathy. My intention was to meet her personally and thank her,' said Emtee. 'She has been nothing but kind to me and I appreciate that. Unlike the one with Mshini, the chat between the rapper and Lentswe was more extensive and seemed as if the pair had an established relationship. In the first screenshot, after a brief greeting, Lentswe reminds Emtee not to forget to keep a promise he made to her, with a red lips emoji at the end of the message. Without receiving a response from Emtee, a seemingly irritated Lentswe asks: 'You not talking to me?' When Emtee asks what's going on, Lentswe asks the rapper to send her R7 000. In another conversation, Lentswe insinuates that the pair had intercourse, saying: 'That c**k is definitely not gay, she must stfu.' The couple has three kids. It was reported that Emtee, whose real name is Mthembeni Ndevu, had moved out of their home after he filed for divorce in 2024. However, as recent as June this year, the rapper moved back to their home and said he was rekindling their marriage. 'I'm fighting for my family. [She] gave me three kids. We are still working on it. The drama unfolded when a string of Instagram stories was posted on his personal Instagram page, consisting of private and intimate messages between him and several women. The posts have sparked concern and speculation about the state of his marriage and emotional well-being. In one screenshot, Emtee strikes up a conversation with Siphesihle Lekwadu, commonly known as Mshini, a reality TV star from the Big Brother Mzansi S5 show. In the screenshot, he enquires about her residence and the best time to visit her, and they decide on a face-to-face meeting with Mshini, giving out her residential address.
