FrancoFilm Festival Returns for Third Edition
TDT| Manama Bahrain will welcome movie lovers this weekend as the FrancoFilm Festival returns for its third edition at EPIX Cinemas in Dana Mall, Manama. Organised by the Embassy of France to the Kingdom of Bahrain and Alliance Française Bahrain, the festival runs from May 17th to 22nd and promises a vibrant celebration of francophone cinema. A diverse lineup of films in French and from French-speaking countries will be shown, highlighting cinematic works from Africa, America, Asia, and Europe. Participating nations include Armenia, Belgium, Cameroon, Canada, Côte d'Ivoire, Cyprus, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Switzerland, Tunisia, and Vietnam. Screenings will take place daily at 5 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9 p.m. Admission is free, with English subtitles provided for most films. The full schedule will be released shortly. All screenings at EPIX Cinemas, except the opening night, will be walk-in, subject to seat availability. Special events planned The festival opening, under the patronage of H.E. Eric Giraud Telme, Ambassador of France to Bahrain, is set for May 18th at 7 p.m. and will feature 'The Count of Monte Cristo' ('Le Comte de Monte Cristo'), directed by Alexandre de la Patellière and Matthieu Delaporte. The film has attracted nearly 10 million viewers in France. In a unique collaboration with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, the festival will also present 'La Ville Louvre' by Nicolas Philibert at Bahrain National Museum on May 22nd at 6 p.m., marking International Museum Day. Family-friendly experience The FrancoFilm Festival aims to engage families with special children's movies shown in the EPIX Cinemas' dedicated Kids cinema auditorium, Kinder, which includes a play area. The initiative encourages young audiences to discover the creativity of French-speaking animators.
