UFC on ESPN 71 bonuses: Two Fight of Night winners in Vegas

The UFC handed out four bonuses after Saturday's card in Las Vegas – with a rarity of two Fight of the Night winners. After UFC on ESPN 71, four fighters picked up an extra $50,000 for their performances at the UFC Apex. Check out the winners below. Fight of the Night: Chris Duncan def. Mateusz Rebecki Chris Duncan (14-2 MMA, 5-1 UFC) and Mateusz Rebecki (20-3 MMA, 4-2 UFC) put on an absolute banger in the co-main event. The lightweights had a tough act to follow right after Esteban Ribovics vs. Elves Brener, and somehow did so with a Fight of the Year candidate. Rebecki was about a 2-1 favorite in the fight, but left disappointed. Both fighters left the cage a bloody mess and had to be transported to an area hospital following the bout. Fight of the Night: Esteban Ribovics def. Elves Brener In a strikers' delight lightweight slugfest, Esteban Ribovics (15-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) and Elves Brener (16-6 MMA, 3-3 UFC) somehow each landed 123 total strikes. But where Brener tried to make a difference was in takedowns – and Ribovics stuffed all nine of them in a highly entertaining scrap. Elves Brener vs. Esteban Ribovics prediction, pick, start time for UFC on ESPN 71

Elves Brener and Esteban Ribovics meet Saturday on the main card of UFC on ESPN 71 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom. Last event: 2-3 UFC main cards, 2025: 72-56-1 Elves Brener vs. Esteban Ribovics UFC on ESPN 71 preview Brener (16-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC) will look to right the ship after dropping back-to-back fights: a unanimous decision to Myktybek Orolbai and a third-round TKO loss to Joel Alvarez. Prior to his recent skid, Brener won five straight. That stretch included four finishes and his first three UFC victories. ... Ribovics (14-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) enters on the heels of a split decision loss to Nasrat Haqparast in March. After dropping his UFC debut, Ribovics won three straight UFC bouts, including a 37-second stoppage of Terrance McKinney. Elves Brener vs. Esteban Ribovics UFC on ESPN 71 expert pick, prediction Serving as a solid action fight at 155 pounds is a battle between Esteban Ribovics and Elves Brenner. Although this fight would be better served in front of a live crowd (as booking Ribovics in back-to-back UFC Apex fights after giving us 2024's Fight of the Year feels incredibly disrespectful), it should be wild while it lasts. Brenner is your classic Brazilian brawler who hails from the legendary Chute Boxe camp, while Ribovics brings the high-paced boxing and body work that both hardcore and casual fans pop for. I'll be curious if Brenner looks to utilize his underrated wrestling in the smaller octagon, but Ribovics appears to be a slippery and scrambly fighter to boot. Even though a better version of Brenner wouldn't shock me, I'll side with Ribovics' durability and pace to produce a finish in Round 3. Elves Brener vs. Esteban Ribovics UFC on ESPN 71 odds The oddsmakers and the public favor the Argentinian fighter, listing Ribovics (-265) and Brenner (+210) via FanDuel. Elves Brener vs. Esteban Ribovics UFC on ESPN 71 start time, how to watch Brener and Ribovics are expected to walk to the cage at approximately 10:40 p.m. ET. The fight broadcasts live on ESPN and streams on ESPN+.

Esteban Ribovics expects first-round finish of Elves Brener at UFC on ESPN 71

Esteban Ribovics is calling a quick finish for his UFC return. LAS VEGAS – Esteban Ribovics expects a quick night at the office. The Argentine UFC lightweight believes he will only need one round to get the job done ahead of his fight against Elves Brener in the main card of UFC on ESPN 71 (ESPN, ESPN+) – which takes place Saturday at the UFC Apex. Ribovics (14-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) respects Brener (16-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC), and is aware of his durability, but he's confident he can put him away come fight night. "I see the advantage in my hands," Ribovics said at media day on Wednesday. "I know I have heavy hands, and I know I'm capable of ending the fight in the first round, so I'm going for it. I'm going to use my hands. I know that he has a good jiu-jitsu game and can take a shot, but I don't think this fight is getting past the first round." Should things go his way on Saturday, Ribovics is hoping to get one more fight before the end of the year. He'd like to close out the year with three fights and further himself from his close, split decision loss to Nasrat Haqparast in March. "My plan is to fight again this year, around November, December," Ribovics said. "I want to end the year with three fights for the year. And if it's in a big arena, it would be even better. I get much more fired up fighting in an arena where there's people, and if I'm the visitor, I love it even more.
