Tesla opens its 8,200 sq ft ‘Experience Center' in Aerocity, seeking a strategic location

New Delhi, Aug 11 (UNI) Tesla launched its next milestone by opening the 'Tesla Experience Center' in the National Capital. It is located at Worldmark 3, Aerocity, New Delhi. This is the second charging station launch of Tesla in India, just 27 days after the grand inauguration of the Mumbai BKC Center, which shows that the automotive giant is monitoring the Indian market. Reportedly, Tesla's Delhi 'Experience Center' spans nearly 8,200 square feet, which shows the automobile giant emphasized the strategic importance of this location. Tesla is intended to target high-net-worth people as the location is connected to Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), major commercial hubs, shopping destinations, and key residential areas. Aerocity's location near the airport will ensure the visibility of international travelers, and the 'Experience Center' at this place will allow Tesla to showcase the vehicles and interact directly with them. This location will provide easy access to policymakers and automobile regulators for experiencing Tesla's services. It will be advantageous for the automotive giant to strengthen its grip on the Indian market. Moreover, the Delhi-Gurugram corridor can be a key market opportunity for Tesla as Aerocity serves as a central point for reaching customers in both cities. The popularity of Tesla vehicles is booming as it does not need regular maintenance and are specially designed to eliminate the service parts. These vehicles are powered up with remote diagnostics and over-the-air software updates for great performance. Tesla forerunner Model 'Y' provides multiple features including range, performance, safety and technology. It offers you a seamless seating experience with power-fold seaters. Model 'Y' has the rear-wheel drive and long range rear-wheel drive capacity of 500km and 622 km, respectively. Moreover, customers can experience the maximum speed of 201km/h on both these versions. The base price variants for Model 'Y' are also in two variants: Standard Range and Long Range, which are priced at Rs 59.89 lakh and Rs 67.89 lakh, respectively. Both prices are ex-showroom and subject to local taxes. The charging station at Aerocity has advanced functionalities, including four V4 Supercharging stalls (DC) and three Destination Charging Stalls (AC). It will offer an option to customers to select the stall of their choice and need. Moreover, these Supercharging Stalls leverage smart technologies that enable customers to follow the quick top-ups during long journeys. With the help of advanced superchargers, Tesla wants to focus on the methodology of 'Simply plug in, charge, and drive' as these Superchargers enable reliable charging for customers on the go. Keeping sustainable development in mind, Tesla is also providing a complimentary Wall Connector with every new Tesla vehicle purchased this quarter. Customers can install these Wall Connectors at homes or workplaces, allowing them to start the day with fully charged vehicles. Tesla has almost 70,000 Superchargers worldwide and is named the largest global fast-charging network. Moreover, these stations are strategically located near convenient amenities for easy customer access. UNI SAS BM

Fadnavis inaugurates Tesla's first showroom in India

Mumbai, July 15 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today inaugurated the Tesla Experience Center at the Bandra-Kurla Complex here "I welcome Tesla to Mumbai. Tesla has come to the right city and the right state of Maharashtra. It is a matter of happiness for us that Tesla is launching its first showroom in India in Mumbai. It is setting up a logistics and servicing system here. Four big charging stations are also being built by Tesla here. I am happy that Tesla chose Maharashtra because this state has become a leader in electric mobility. Tesla is launching its Y model in India," Fadnavis said at the launch event. "India and especially Maharashtra now have a big and strong market for electric mobility. We are now also becoming a manufacturing hub for electric mobility. But I think Tesla will change the entire market. Tesla is not just a car company but also makes new designs. This is why Tesla is liked globally. Tesla should consider us as partners in their journey," Fadnavis said. Located in the heart of Mumbai at the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), the 4,000-square-foot flagship Tesla showroom called the Tesla Experience Center, marks the beginning of the American electric vehicle giant's long-awaited entry into the Indian market. The Tesla Experience Center is expected to be followed by more outlets in major metros, including New Delhi. The rent for the showroom in Mumbai, is Rs 35 lakh per month. The storefront has been fully branded prominently with the Tesla logo and a partially covered white Tesla vehicle inside the showroom. The showroom will serve as the American electric vehicle maker's first physical presence in India. While billionaire Elon Musk's company has not yet confirmed plans for a manufacturing plant or an assembly facility in India, the showroom launch is being seen as a strategic move to gauge consumer interest and market potential. The showroom is currently showcasing the Model Y, Tesla's all-electric SUV. Six Model Y Tesla SUVs were imported from Shanghai to Mumbai for the opening on Tuesday, according to a showroom official. The Tesla Model Y is available in India, in two variants, namely Rear-Wheel Drive at Rs 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom price) and Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive priced at Rs 67.89 lakh (ex-showroom price). Bookings for the Model Y are now open, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2025, according to a showroom official. The Tesla Model Y comes in a standard Stealth Grey colour, while other options like Pearl White Multi-Coat, Diamond Black, Glacier Blue, Quick Silver and Ultra Red are available at an extra cost of up to Rs 1.85 lakh, depending on the colour chosen by customers, a showroom official said. The dashboard is simple and flat, with a soft-touch finish and a single horizontal line of ambient lighting running across its width. There are no physical buttons or dials since everything is controlled through the large 15.4-inch touchscreen in the centre. It features a three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls. The centre console is wide and neatly designed, with covered storage compartments and a wireless charging pad. The vehicle's rear seats are also reclinable and passengers sitting behind can make use of a separate 8-inch touchscreen for entertainment as well as rear air conditioning vents. The vehicle is equipped with a 9-speaker sound system, ambient lighting, an air purifier, a wireless phone charger, connected car tech and even a powered bonnet, according to a showroom official. EV maker Tesla to launch first Indian showroom in Mumbai next week

Electric vehicle maker Tesla is all set to open the first India showroom in Mumbai on July 15, dubbed as an 'Experience Center'. From sending exclusive invitations to select media editors, to sightings of the Tesla Model Y on Indian roads, viral social media posts about the event, and speculation about Elon Musk's possible presence, the secrecy surrounding the Tesla launch has created anticipation and hype. According to an invite about the event that Business Standard got access to, the 90-minute launch event for the Tesla 'Experience Center' will take place next week at the Maker Maxity Mall in Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. Sources said that after Mumbai, the company is likely to open another showroom in Delhi later this month. The deliveries of cars to customers is expected to start from August, sources added. According to industry sources, along with the Experience Center launch in Mumbai, the company may officially launch direct sales to Indian customers. According to sources, the public relations mandate for the Mumbai event was given to Gurugram-based brand consultancy and PR firm Laudco Media. Tesla and Laudco did not respond to questions from Business Standard at the time of going to print. Interestingly, an Instagram account cited in the invite had only one poster, declaring 'India' and 'July 2025' along with a Tesla logo, posted around 5 pm on Friday. Tesla will be competing against its Chinese rival BYD, as well as domestic major Tata Motors in the Indian market. According to media reports, its first offering for Indian customers will be the Model Y, which is the world's largest-selling electric car. According to plans, it is likely to be imported from China in completely built-up (CBU) form. The Tesla Model Y is available in two variants — rear-wheel drive (RWD) and long-range all-wheel drive (AWD) — with a price expected to start from around $56,000 before taxes and insurance, as per media reports. Moreover, since there were reports of the car being spotted on roads, it indicates that it will be the first product in the Indian market, with some reports naming the Model 3 along with it. Though Tesla has been trying to enter the Indian market for some time, it has also been seeking sops for manufacturing and imports from the central government. In June, India's Minister for Heavy Industries, HD Kumaraswamy, confirmed that the global major is not keen on manufacturing in India. Last month, Bloomberg reported that five Model Y units arrived in Mumbai from Tesla's Shanghai factory. The cars were declared at $31,988 and attracted import duties of around 70 per cent. In the Indian market, a major challenge for Tesla will be the import duties of 70 per cent on electric vehicles, as the ex-showroom price of the same models in the US is around $44,990.

Diriyah Company woos UK investors with London center

Diriyah Company is launching a new marketing initiative at one of London's most prestigious locations to showcase the project. The Diriyah House Experience Center will be hosted at One Hyde Park, a premier business address in Knightsbridge near Harrods. It will provide an immersive experience for those interested in opportunities in Diriyah, one of Saudi Arabia's giga-projects located on the outskirts of Riyadh. The Diriyah House Experience Center's official opening is scheduled for the beginning of July. The center will operate as a co-branded hub operated by Sotheby's International Realty, the UK company originally founded by Sotheby's art dealers. Sotheby's International Realty has recently entered the Saudi market and chose Diriyah as a key launchpad, already marketing branded residences for prestigious hospitality names such as The Ritz-Carlton, Corinthia, and Baccarat — all part of the landmark developments taking shape in Diriyah. The Diriyah House Experience Center will include a state-of-the-art marketing suite featuring a masterplan model and flexible model display. It will bring the 'City of Earth' to life for a wider global audience. Diriyah Company Group CEO Jerry Inzerillo said: 'We are delighted to open this high-profile and prestigious experience center in the heart of London. This prestigious London address enables us to share Diriyah's story on a global stage in a truly world-class setting, strengthening our international outreach as we build one of the world's greatest gathering places, rooted in the history, heritage and culture of the Kingdom.' George Azar, chairman and CEO of Sotheby International Realty, Dubai, the UK, and Saudi Arabia, added: 'We are proud to collaborate with Diriyah Company on this landmark initiative and to support the launch of the Diriyah House Experience Center at One Hyde Park. As their partners, we are pleased to offer our experience and expertise in presenting ultra-prime real estate to a global audience. With a strong foothold in the UK's super-prime market, this collaboration allows us to do what we do best — represent the world's most exceptional properties while acting as local experts with global reach.' Through this partnership, we look forward to connecting discerning investors and stakeholders in the UK with the extraordinary vision and opportunities emerging in Diriyah.' The announcement of the center follows a successful month-long activation by Diriyah Company at Harrods in London in July 2024. The campaign featured a showcase of Diriyah's master plan models and a supporting out-of-home marketing campaign across the city. This international engagement reflects the growing global appetite for investment in the City of Earth and reinforces Diriyah's commitment to connecting with the international investment community. Located on the outskirts of Riyadh and backed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, Diriyah is an integrated urban development project covering 14 square kilometers. It includes building homes for around 100,000 residents and is expected to create nearly 180,000 jobs. Its ambition is to attract approximately 50 million visits annually, contributing an estimated SR70 billion ($18.6 billion) to Saudi Arabia's GDP. Diriyah Company does not have any permanent establishment or a place of business in the UK. The Diriyah House Experience Center is operated by Sotheby's International Realty for the sole purpose of marketing Diriyah' s projects.
