We had a good little battle at the end between Oscar and myself, which is always tense, but always good fun. For us as a team, second and third is great. Of course you'd love to be up there fighting against Max, but they were too good for us today.' Mercedes driver George Russell continues to hold fourth place in the Driver Standings with 99 points, while Ferrari's Charles Leclerc remains in fifth position with 61 points. Lewis Hamilton's climb to fourth place after starting from 12th position at the Imola race has moved him up to sixth place in the Driver Standings with 53 points. He was previously behind Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli, who was unable to finish the Imola race and was pushed down to seventh place with 48 points. Ralf Schumacher points out Lando Norris' weaknesses, says 'He's missing the basics of overtaking'
Image credit: Lando Norris/Instagram Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher has said Lando Norris was at fault when he shared his struggle with overtaking Max Verstappen. Lando Norris had recently taken the second spot on the podium at the Miami Grand Prix, with Verstappen finishing in fourth position. Unlike his teammate Oscar Piastri, who has won four out of the five races this season, Norris has been openly talking about why he has not been able to clinch a win in the recent races. Ralf Schumacher on Lando Norris Talking about Lando Norris and what he thinks is wrong with him, Ralf Schumacher told Sky Deutschland, as per , 'I don't know what's wrong with Norris. Norris isn't capable of it, otherwise he would do it. There are no excuses. There are simply some drivers who have a superb eye for it - that's Verstappen, of course, but also Piastri and I have to say also (Oliver) Bearman. Norris simply lacks that, and he won't learn it either. It will stay that way. He's missing the basics of overtaking. You actually learn that in karting, so he should be able to do it. But he always seems to take too long to get to the front, and that's a problem. It's not how he can become world champion.' Schumacher also raised doubts over his possible conduct in the upcoming races. He said, 'Norris knows that he has to deliver now. That means he will increase his risk-taking, also because I think he is sick and tired of always being called the weak one. I think he'll want to show more toughness now - but he lacks the feel of a Piastri. Piastri is also showing that he can drive tight lines and defend hard. I can imagine Norris misjudging a situation in a direct duel resulting in contact with his teammate.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Google Brain Co-Founder Andrew Ng, Recommends: Read These 5 Books And Turn Your Life Around Blinkist: Andrew Ng's Reading List Undo Also Read: Lando Norris on dealing with off-track stuff: 'Sebastian Vettel often texts me about these kinds of things' Norris is currently in second position in the 2025 F1 Driver Standings with 115 points.
