Birmingham and Ipswich charged by FA for mass brawl involving ex-Man Utd captain which saw fan floored
BIRMINGHAM CITY and Ipswich Town have both been hit with charges by the FA after their Championship clash turned into absolute chaos. The carnage kicked off in the dying minutes of the match when a last-gasp penalty for Ipswich – awarded after a controversial handball by Lyndon Dykes, led to tempers boiling over. An FA statement has confirmed both clubs are being charged with breaching FA Rule E20.1. The statement read: "Birmingham City and Ipswich Town have been charged with a breach of FA Rule E20.1 Advertisement "Following the mass confrontation at their EFL Championship fixture on Friday 8 August. The drama overshadowed the football with Birmingham initially leading thanks to a strike from Jay Stansfield.
