A fan jumped in but he was tackled by the security before the stewards got to him
The ugly scenes unfolded on the opening night of the season with former Manchester United captain Ashley Young caught up in the shocking melee.
The carnage kicked off in the dying minutes of the match when a last-gasp penalty for Ipswich – awarded after a controversial handball by Lyndon Dykes, led to tempers boiling over.
George Hirst slammed it home, sending the match into utter disarray.
As players from both sides clashed a fan leapt over the guard rail, charging towards the players.

"It's alleged that both clubs failed to ensure their players didn't behave in an improper and/or provocative way around the 95th minute and they have until Friday 15 August to reply."
The drama overshadowed the football with Birmingham initially leading thanks to a strike from Jay Stansfield.

He said: 'The first 15 minutes were tough but we got back in the game and it felt like we could have gone on to win it.
'The foul on the keeper was questionable but George scored and got us the point we deserved.'

Dane Murray celebrates contract with goal as Celtic ease past Falkirk
The 22-year-old defender headed home Celtic's third goal of the second-round clash at Parkhead. Murray, who has already overcome two separate cruciate ligament injuries in his career, earlier signed a new deal that keeps him at the club until 2028. Daizen Maeda and Alistair Johnston were also on target and Falkirk defender Liam Henderson put through his own net before Keelan Adams scored an impressive consolation goal for the Premiership newcomers. Centre-back Murray was one of six players coming into the Celtic line-up alongside goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo, Auston Trusty, Arne Engels and Johnny Kenny. The Hoops beat then Championship side Falkirk 5-2 on their way to winning last season's tournament and this was another open encounter with both sides creating chances in the first half. Kenny volleyed wide early on after James Forrest's lay-off and former Celtic goalkeeper Scott Bain saved long-range strikes from Callum McGregor and Kieran Tierney before scrambling to meet Henderson's wayward passback, which just went wide. Ross MacIver dragged a shot wide at the other end after a loose pass from Murray. The breakthrough came in the 26th minute after McGregor returned the ball into the box following a corner. Tierney ran on to meet the cross and nodded the ball down for Maeda to score with a diving header. There were further chances at each end before the break. Sinisalo saved brilliantly from Calvin Miller's 25-yard strike before denying Alfredo Agyeman and MacIver. Engels and Forrest missed close-range headers at the other end. Celtic were more dominant after the break and doubled their lead in the 54th minute after Falkirk lost possession from a throw-in. Johnston chased down Miller as the former Celtic player headed back towards his own goal and the right-back won the ball before curling into the far corner with his left foot. Murray got his big moment in the 61st minute when he headed home from an inswinging corner from Engels. Celtic went further ahead three minutes later as Yang Hyun-jun made an instant impact after coming on with home debutant Shin Yamada. The South Korean winger ran past two opponents after Celtic won the ball back deep in the Bairns half, and his low ball across the goalmouth was turned into his own net by Henderson. The noisy visiting fans got a chance to celebrate three minutes later when right-back Adams arrowed a shot into the top corner from 20 yards. That ended the flurry of goals as Celtic safely navigated their way into Saturday evening's quarter-final draw and avoided any injuries ahead of their Champions League play-off first leg against Kairat Almaty on Wednesday.

Dawid Malan hits half-century as Northern Superchargers ease to Hundred win
Zak Crawley dominated the strike early on as he clocked up 45 runs – from a hit including six fours and two maximums – before being stumped by Joe Clarke off the bowling of Liam Livingstone. Fellow opener Malan then achieved a well-earned half-century, finishing with a knock of 58 from 34 balls. ANOTHER MOMENT OF MAGIC FROM HARRY BROOK 🧙#TheHundred — The Hundred (@thehundred) August 15, 2025 Harry Brook was cheered by the crowd by the home fans on his way to the middle and his quick-fire score of 31 – and Michael Pepper's 28 – propelled the hosts to 193 for five as they recorded the highest total in the competition over the last two seasons. Birmingham's run chase got off to a slow start, Will Smeed was out with the third ball, while Matthew Potts dismissed both Ben Duckett and Clarke, with the visitors reeling on 27 for three. Jacob Bethell was earlier named England's youngest ever T20 captain for their upcoming tour of Ireland and he rifled 48 from 23 balls alongside Livingstone's 46. But they both fell victim to Adil Rashid as Phoenix started to lose wickets at speed and fell way short of their target as they could only reach 157 for nine in reply. Earlier, Phoebe Litchfield blasted a half-century to help the women's Superchargers easily chase down Birmingham Phoenix's target of 116. The Phoenix elected to bat first on what looked to be a batting-friendly wicket and despite getting off to a decent start, they lost wickets at regular intervals to stop them posting a damaging score. Georgia Voll and Marie Kelly hit seven fours between them but were both bowled by Linsey Smith, while Amy Jones fell for one before Ellyse Perry was caught of her crease when a shot brushed the hands of Annabel Sutherland and hit the stumps as they were reduced to 75 for five. Four to win. Phoebe Litchfield does THIS 🤯#TheHundred — The Hundred (@thehundred) August 15, 2025 Sterre Kalis (24) and Em Arlott (32 not out) came together and put 57 runs on the board to help the away side post 116 for six at the halfway point. In reply, Davina Perrin and Alice Davidson-Richards came steady out of the blocks but they were dismissed by Arlott and Millie Taylor respectively as Birmingham looked to limit their opponents. But the game was soon over as a contest when Litchfield came to the crease and she hit 59 from 28 balls to guide her side to victory with 26 balls to spare.
