Indonesia defeat Bahrain to reach AFC Women's Futsal knockout stages
Indonesia booked their place in the knockout stage of the 2025 AFC Women's Futsal Asian Cup with a convincing 5-1 win over Bahrain in Group C. The win sees Indonesia finish third in the group with four points, enough to qualify as one of the best third-placed teams. Bahrain, meanwhile, exit the tournament after three consecutive defeats and a goal difference of minus nine. Indonesia were in control throughout the match, dictating the tempo with quick transitions and superior finishing. It was a final group fixture for both sides, with Bahrain needing a win to have any hopes of progression, but the result was never in doubt. The 2025 AFC Women's Futsal Asian Cup, running from 6–17 May, serves as the qualification pathway to the inaugural FIFA Women's Futsal World Cup, to be held later this year in the Philippines. Twelve teams are competing, with the top three (plus the hosts) earning World Cup berths. Bahrain's campaign began with a 4-0 defeat to Thailand, followed by a narrow 3-2 loss to Japan, before another heavy 5-1 defeat to Indonesia sealed their early exit. Indonesia had earlier drawn with Thailand and narrowly lost to Japan, but did just enough to Hessa Ali (right) in action vs Indonesia advance.

Lionesses Roar Back: Morocco Stuns Tanzania to Claim AFCON Futsal Glory
Doha – Morocco's women's futsal team clinched the inaugural African Cup of Nations title with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Tanzania in Wednesday's final at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat. The host nation staged a remarkable comeback after falling behind 2-0 early in the match. Doha El Madani initiated the recovery just before halftime, with Drissia Korrych equalizing in the 34th minute before Jasmine Demraoui sealed the victory with seconds remaining on the clock. Demraoui proved to be the hero of the night, providing the assist for Korrych's equalizer before scoring the decisive goal herself in the final seconds. Tanzania had started brightly, taking an early lead through Anastazia Katunzi in the fourth minute. Jamila Rajabu doubled their advantage in the 16th minute, putting the visitors in a commanding position. The Moroccan side responded with relentless pressure. El Madani broke through Tanzania's defense in the 20th minute, reducing the deficit to 2-1 at halftime. In the second period, Tanzania adopted a defensive approach, forming a low block that proved difficult for the hosts to penetrate. However, the Moroccan team's persistence paid off when Korrych converted Demraoui's setup to level the score. With the match heading toward extra time, Demraoui capped her outstanding performance by netting the winner in the final seconds, sending the packed Rabat venue into raptures. The victory marks another success for Moroccan football, coming just days after their U17 men's team won their continental championship on April 19. Both Morocco and Tanzania have secured qualification for the first-ever FIFA Women's Futsal World Cup, scheduled to take place in the Philippines from November 27 to December 7. Earlier in the day, Cameroon claimed the bronze medal with a convincing 4-1 win over Angola. Natacha Elam Ekosso netted twice, while Brunelle Ornella Beulou and captain Brigitte Yvana Mbomozomo added one goal each. The medal ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Morocco's Minister of Education Mohamed Saad Berrada, CAF President Patrice Motsepe, and Royal Moroccan Football Federation President Fouzi Lekjaa. Morocco's route to the title included dominant group stage performances, with victories over Namibia (8-1) and Cameroon (7-1), before dispatching Angola 5-1 in the semifinals. Morocco's Women's Futsal Team Qualifies for World Cup
Rabat – Morocco's women's futsal team made history by reaching the final of the first-ever Women's Futsal Africa Cup of Nations 2025, currently being held in Rabat. On Monday, April 28, they delivered a dominant performance with a 5-1 win over Angola in the semifinals. The victory also secured them a place in the upcoming FIFA Women's Futsal World Cup, which will take place in the Philippines from November 27 to December 7. The match, held at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex, saw Morocco take control early on. Doha El Madani opened the scoring in the 13th minute, but despite Morocco's strong start, Angola managed to equalize just before halftime, briefly quieting the home crowd. After the break, Morocco regained momentum. Although they missed a penalty in the 28th minute, they quickly bounced back. Zineb Erroudany scored a powerful goal to restore the lead, and that strike opened the door for a flurry of goals. Jasmine Demraoui extended the lead, El Madani added her second of the match, and Meryem Hajri sealed the win with a fifth goal in the final minute. This semifinal success follows an impressive group-stage run where Morocco crushed Namibia 8-1 and Cameroon 7-1. Now, with home support and growing confidence, the Atlas Lionesses are set to face Tanzania in the final, who defeated Cameroon 3-2 in the other semifinal. As they prepare for the championship match, Morocco's women's futsal team is on the brink of winning their first-ever continental title — a proud moment in a historic tournament for African women's futsal.
