'The good run of six wins saved us' - can Wolves progress under Pereira?
We asked for your views on Dazzling Dave's scorecard for the 2024-25 are some of your comments:Rob: Dazzling Dave has given a good synopsis of Wolves 2024-25 season. Fosun persisted with Gary O'Neil for a few games longer than was sensible given the poor run of performances, let alone results. Big change coming for next season with probably four first-team regulars departing, plus hopefully some decent money for Fabio Silva. An important close season and hopefully a mid-table finish next term if transfer funds are carefully spent to secure some good quality Appointing Vitor Pereira was a great choice. Unknown manager when we appointed him but he has done a great job. If we back him we can go Wolves can push on if the owners put their money where their mouth is and allow Vitor to strengthen the squad. Selling our best players has become the norm and sufficient funds for new signings has been Even though players like Larsen, Andre, Cunha and Gomes have been brilliant, Pereira has been our saviour. He turned the team around and we would have been relegated without Pereira has done well - we were going down under O'Neil. The good run of six wins saved us, but they were all against poor teams. In Pereira's time we didn't get near Chelsea, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest, and went for damage limitation against Arsenal and Manchester City, so how are we going to be better than bottom six next year? The fans say back Periera but will Fosun do so?

Borussia Dortmund identify Wolves forward Fabio Silva as ideal Serhou Guirassy back-up
As reported by BILD, Borussia Dortmund are interested in Wolves forward Fabio Silva this summer. The Portuguese youth international is expected to depart the Premier League club following spells in the Netherlands, Belgium, Scotland, and, most recently, Spain with Las Palmas. Advertisement The 22-year-old striker scored 10 goals and assisted on three occasions in 24 appearances last season, but it wasn't enough for Las Palmas to avoid relegation from La Liga. Silva's performances have attracted interested from various Spanish clubs and now also Dortmund. BVB were too reliant on top striker Serhou Guirassy last season, as the 29-year-old scored more goals than anyone else in the rückrunde (second half of the season). Dortmund see Silva as a potential back-up striker and additional competition for Maximilian Beier (22), who scored 8 goals in the Bundesliga last term. According to TransferMarkt, Silva currently holds a transfer fee of around €25m. Advertisement It never quite worked out for Silva at Wolves, who joined at just 18 for €40m. However, the Portuguese forward now looks set to play Champions League football next season with the type of interest he's gathering. GGFN | Jamie Allen

Atletico Madrid keeping tabs on Wolves striker Fabio Silva
Atletico Madrid are keeping tabs on Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Fabio Silva ahead of a potential move this summer. (h/t Diario AS). The 22-year-old will return to Molineux Stadium when his loan spell at Las Palmas ends at the end of the season. The Portuguese youngster has revived himself with the Spanish outfit after experiencing underwhelming loan spells at PSV Eindhoven and Rangers. He has racked up 10 goals and three assists in La Liga this season, although his absence through injury in the last few games proved costly for Las Palmas, who are relegated to the second division. Nevertheless, Silva's form has caught the attention of Bundesliga clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt. Wolves plan to sell Silva for a profitable fee this summer to avoid losing him for free when his contract runs out next year. Atletico have identified Silva as a potential replacement for Angel Correa, who will bid farewell to the Spanish giants at the end of the season. Los Rojiblancos manager Diego Simeone also heaped praises on Silva's talent earlier this season. Colchoneros have endured a lacklustre 2024/25 campaign, failing to win any trophies, although they have secured a place in the Champions League. Their attack has been one of the positives, with two new signings, Julian Alvarez and Alexander Sorloth, being prolific in front of goal. Simeone wants to add more depth to their frontline and admires Silva's profile. The Argentine gaffer has also earmarked Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez as a high-profile target for the summer. The Premier League champions are looking to sell the Uruguayan, who is eager to make a switch to Wanda Metropolitano. Atletico have also lined up Villarreal's Alex Baena and Real Betis midfielder Johnny Cardoso as their top targets.

Rangers flop ‘set for stunning £21million transfer as host of European giants line-up to sign him'

He burst onto the scene as a 17-year old with Porto in August 2019 and despite making just 12 league appearances, was on the move in a mega transfer to England the following summer. Wolves shelled-out a club record £35million to land Silva but it's never worked out for him. He's managed just four goals in 62 Premier League games for the Old Gold. That has meant Silva spending the bulk of the last three years out on loan. He enjoyed a successful stint at Anderlecht in the first half of the 2022/23 season, earning him a switch to Dutch giants PSV for the second half of the campaign. Silva returned to Wolves for the beginning of the 2023/24 campaign but once again struggled to make an impact. He was then snapped-up by Rangers on loan until the end of the season last January. It would prove a spell of mixed fortunes for Silva, who would net six goals in 25 games across all competitions for the Light Blues. While some of his performances impressed, others did not. Barry Ferguson is on the brink of erupting at his Rangers squad Some of Silva's goal celebrations also didn't go down too well with Gers fans. He received backlash for appearing to gesture to tell his critics among the Light Blues support to 'shut up', while pointing to his name on his shirt on the final day of the season against Hearts didn't go down well either, especially after the Gers' title challenge had collapsed. Current Rangers assistant Neil McCann, then with the BBC as a pundit blasted that "it doesn't bother" Silva whether Rangers win or lose. He returned to Wolves again last summer, where his contract runs until 2026. But he went out on loan again, this time to La Liga with Las Palmas. It's proved a transformational spell for Silva, who has impressed in Spain's top division. He's bagged 10 goals in 26 games across all competitions and also earned his first senior Portugal cap. Silva's also just been named La Liga's under-23 player of the month. The striker's future, however, is very much uncertain. What does look likely though is that he WON'T still be on Wolves' books beyond the summer. 4 Local outlet Express & Star are reporting that Silva will likely be sold this summer, marking a permanent exit from the club after five years. Now, Las Palmas-based outlet La Provincia claim that the English club have set a £21million asking price for the in-form striker. They're also reporting that a host of huge European clubs are in for him. Spanish giants Atletico Madrid and Villarreal are credited with an interest. So too are German outfits Eintracht Frankfurt and Stuttgart. While it's been a solid campaign personally for Silva, Las Palmas are still in serious relegation danger. They're currently sitting in the relegation zone in 18th place and are two points from safety. There are five games left of the La Liga season to go. The Gran Canaria club have several other familiar faces in their ranks as well as Silva. Scotland stars Scott McKenna and Oli McBurnie are there, as well as former Man Utd winger Adnan Januzaj and on-loan Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic. Still chance for Silva to sparkle at Wolves?
This week, we start at The Hawthorns, of all places, where Fabio Silva scored for Portugal Under-21s against England on Monday. Quirks like that make you wonder if football really does follow a mischievous cosmic strategy these days depends on long-term bets, to some extent, signing players early in their careers in the hope that they will make the club a fortune when they their investment in Silva, whose eight La Liga goals this season have helped maintain Las Palmas' hopes of avoiding relegation, does one day result in Wolves turning a profit, then Molineux's food kiosks could serve humble pie with every good for him - before Wolves started loaning him out, he often seemed an innocent abroad and he was put in an impossible position, which he was by no means ready for."I cannot answer that because my focus now is to be in Las Palmas," he told the Express and Star on Monday night when asked about his Wolves contract has one more year to run, and it would be a new height of irony if his talent finally flourishes just as his contract ends. "I always try to go where I feel happy. I think that is the most important thing - to play football and be happy. It is what I love to do," he the same dismal day Wolves conceded three penalties against Bournemouth, Silva was scoring Las Palmas' winner away to Barcelona - so no wonder he felt it ends, the Wolves-Silva story demonstrates just what a tricky policy this is - and yet the logic remains cost made his an extreme case, and the outlays on individual young players - Rodrigo Gomes and Pedro Lima last summer, for example - have since been more the long run, it would only need one in every few of these bets to develop into a £50m-plus rated property to cover the costs, and you would have the benefit of their talent while they seems the only realistic way to reach the overall aim of financial self-sustainability. But, outside the boardroom, football has never judged success in the long run. Managers are judged on their most recent game and they often only want to talk about the next once safety is assured, another challenging summer lies ahead. The club will be searching for long-term returns while remaining strong enough to cope with the perils of the knows what will happen between now and the long run - as the four managers who have left Wolves since the club signed Silva could probably attest?Listen to full commentary of Wolves v West Ham United at 19:45 BST on Tuesday night on BBC Radio WM [DAB: Black Country]Tune into The West Midlands Football Phone-In from 18:00 on weeknights
