Seth Green and Ashley Greene cast in Peter Facinelli's Grace Period

Seth Green and Ashley Greene have been cast in new romantic comedy 'Grace Period'. The two Hollywood stars will take the lead in director Peter Facinelli's new film, which will be offered to potential buyers at Cannes Film Festival this month with production set to start in August. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will follow a woman called Willa (Greene), who makes an impulse decision to freeze her eggs. She's helped by Dr. Rubin (Matt Walsh), but things take a turn after she meets her dream man Greg (Green) and is forced to try to make things work. Filmmaker Facinelli previously acted with Greene in the 'Twilight Saga', while he starred with Green in classic 1998 teen comedy 'Can't Hardly Wait'. The script for 'Grace Period' was written by the director's real life partner Lily Anne Harrison. Facinelli said in a statement: "I'm thrilled to be back in the director's chair for Grace Period, a film that explores a timely subject matter with heart, while delivering some much-needed laughter in the world today. 'Having known Seth and Ashley for what feels like an 'eternity,' I Can't Hardly Wait to helm their incredible talent onscreen together. "With Wango Films and Peter Winther producing, and a stellar supporting cast, we're creating something truly special that audiences are going to love.' Greene and Facinelli's 'Twilight' franchise co-star Jackson Rathbone - who played Jasper Hale - recently revealed there is a secret unreleased blooper real from the movies which shows lead actress Kristen Stewart dropping a string of expletives. He told Collider: "There was one time where they put out a special blooper screening—I think this is for 'Breaking Dawn' or 'Eclipse'—where it was just every time Kristen curses. It was like, when she's messing up her lines… It's like eight minutes long. It is amazing." Meanwhile, Greene - who played Alice Cullen - revealed that she and co-star Facinelli "got into trouble" for messing with a lifesize doll that was meant to be a version of Kristen's character Bella Swan. She said: "Peter and I also got in trouble for playing with a life-sized doll of a dead Bella." Peter added: "They were shooting on stage, and we had to wait until their scene was over, but then all of a sudden I bumped into this table, and there's a life-sized Kristen Stewart laying on the table. "They made a doll for when she breaks her back. It looked exactly like her, so I bumped into it and I was like, 'Sorry, Kristen.' "

Peter Facinelli defends 'Twilight' from criticism that it ruined the vampire genre: 'It's like Romeo and Juliet'

Peter Facinelli does not think Twilight ruined the vampire genre. In an interview with GQ Spain published in January, Robert Pattinson, Facinelli's co-star in the franchise, said, "It's crazy" that people still come up to him and complain about the films. Yahoo Entertainment asked Facinelli, who was promoting his new film The Unbreakable Boy, what he thinks of the criticism. "I would say there's a lot of Twi-hards that would disagree [it ruined the genre]," Facinelli said. "I know the fan base is still pretty strong. To me, it was always a love story set in the vampire backdrop. ... It's like Romeo and Juliet in this vampire world and this family that's just super supportive." Facinelli, who played vampire patriarch Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the movies, said he loved Twilight's theme of "chosen family." "That kind of love and support from family and friends is what everyone wants. I think that's why people love the Cullens," he continued. "So I don't think it ruined anything. I think it's apples and oranges." Facinelli keeps in touch with Pattinson every "once in a while." The same can be said about Kristen Stewart. "They're pretty busy," he said. The actor said he also still talks with Cullen family members and former co-stars Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone and Nikki Reed. "Ashley lives close to me; our kids play together. Nikki, I checked in on [her] when she had the [L.A.] fires. She almost came over to my house. I was like, 'Come over if you need to,' and she was like, 'Isn't your ex-wife there?' I was like, 'I'll make room, we've got plenty of space,'" he said. (Facinelli took in ex-wife Jennie Garth after wildfires broke out on Jan. 7.) "They're family to me. They'll always be family." Facinelli appears in the new inspirational drama The Unbreakable Boy, which he also produced. It follows a couple (played by Zachary Levi and Meghan Fahy) as they raise their son Austin, who is autistic and has brittle bone disease. Facinelli plays the family's preacher. "It was such a beautiful story about this dad who just felt like he was failing. And I've been there as a dad too; sometimes you feel like you're failing," Facinelli said about why he wanted to make this film, which is based on a true story. He and Garth have three adult children, and he also has a 2-year-old son with his fiancée, Lily Anne Harrison. "[Austin] had more to teach his father about love and life than anything his dad could ever possibly teach him," Facinelli said. is in theaters now.

Peter Facinelli Reveals What He Whispered in Robert Pattinson's Ear When Carlisle Bites Edward in 'Twilight': 'He Smiled'

Peter Facinelli is spilling a Twilight secret! Much of the cast of the vampire franchise reunited at MegaCon on Friday, Feb. 7, in Orlando, more than a decade after the premiere of the final film in the four-part saga, 2012's Breaking Dawn — Part 2. The first film came out in 2008. Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen), Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen), Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen) and Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale) shared set memories and ruminated on the series' impact years later. One hilarious moment on set? What Facinelli, 51, whispered in Robert Pattinson's ear in the scene in which Carlisle bites Pattinson's Edward, turning him into a vampire. "I leaned in the first time, on the first take, and said, 'I'm sorry.' 'Cause I felt like Carlisle didn't really ask for permission — you should always ask for permission," he began. "But on the second take, I leaned in and said, 'Rob, you're so handsome,' " Facinelli continued. "And then he smiled a little bit. And that's the take that's in the movie." While Pattinson, 38, wasn't at MegaCon, his castmates reflected fondly on working with him, and even joked that he was the most likely of the cast to get lost on set. "I could have a tattoo saying 'I'm lost' and Rob would still be more likely to get lost," joked Rathbone, 38. And despite their own star status, Rathbone still admitted that he gets starstruck at times — like when he came in contact with another MegaCon attendee. "I used to have a stutter. I met Ron Howard, and I had a stutter again," he told the crowd. Related: Everything Twilight Actors Have Said About Their Time in the Franchise (and It's Not All Nice!) The Cullens also appeared at Epic Con Chicago in 2024, where they took a nostalgic group photo. Speaking out the franchise's lasting legacy and popularity resurgence, Lutz, 39, said at MegaCon that he is touched by how much Twilight still means to people, including fans who name their kids after the characters. "I just met an Emmett, which was great. I have a little Emmett buddy," he raved. "It's pretty cool what these movies have done for all of us collectively, to grow together."
