MSF: Health situation in Gaza disastrous
Gaza - Saba:
Fadi al-Madhoun, the medical director of Doctors Without Borders (MSF), stated that the health situation in the Gaza Strip has reached catastrophic levels, noting that the Israeli side is being stubborn about allowing medical aid into the Strip.
In press statements on Wednesday, al-Madhoun said, "We are witnessing a major collapse of the health system in the Gaza Strip, as no medical supplies have reached us for 100 days."
He stressed that "if no medical aid reaches Gaza within two weeks, we will be forced to halt our services."
Al-Madhoun noted that 110 cases of malnutrition are recorded among children daily.
He explained that the shortage of supplies and medical personnel is one of the biggest problems facing the health sector.
Al-Madhoun also emphasized that the health system in Gaza will not last more than a month if the current situation continues.
The enemy continues to impose a complete closure on the Gaza Strip, preventing the entry of aid, relief supplies, medical supplies, and fuel since March 2, amid worsening famine among the population.
Since October 7, 2023, the enemy has been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, including killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
