How To Do Sydney The Faithfull Way

The Sydney Opera House and general harbour and cityscape/ Getty Images Channeling a sense of summer in your every day is Faithfull The Brand, the women's fashion brand that's based out of Bali and Sydney. Founded in 2014 by Australian Sarah-Jane Abrahams and Norwegian, Helle Them-Enger, the B-Corp Certified label has built a reputation for offering thoughtful designs. The pieces often nod to vintage style, but feel thoroughly contemporary in the same breath — made to move through the seasons and stay loved year after year. There are a few really beautiful luxury stays in the city, but the Ace Hotel is a boutique spot just on the outskirts of the CBD and walking distance to some of the best coffee shops and bars. It's contemporary with clean modern lines, yet still cozy and comfortable with a warm color palette. Their Lobby Bar is also one of the best spots for a martini and their restaurants – Loam and Kiln – are must-visits for dinner. Address: 47-53 Wentworth Ave, Surry Hills This is a village-style shopping intersection with some of Australia's best local designers and boutiques, as well as a few international names. You can pop from store to store and peruse curated selections (and pick up a coffee from Jackie's while you shop). If you're looking for FAITHFULL pieces, visit The New Trend boutique. Address: Oxford St, Paddington Bar: Dear Saint Eloise They describe themselves as 'a place for wine and things to eat' and that encapsulates their vibe quite perfectly. They are tucked in a laneway off one of the main roads in Sydney and offer an extensive wine menu and French-inspired cuisine and snack plates. (Recommend sitting on one of the outside tables and ordering one of their orange wines). Address: 5/29 Orwell St, Potts Point Eat: 10 William St It's a neighbourhood hole-in-the-wall style Italian restaurant that's beloved by locals for its extensive European wine list and famous pretzel with whipped bottarga. You can even order tiramisu by the spoon. It's worth booking in advance, otherwise try walking in later in the evening. Address: 10 William St, Paddington Gallery: Museum of Contemporary Art Australia The MCA is set in a modern building right on the harbor so there are incredible views of both the bridge and the Opera House. Their offering of modern art is ever changing but they showcase the best of both new and upcoming talent and beloved names across a diverse body of mediums – painters, sculptors, illustrators and sound artists. There are also some incredible First Nations artists and works on display. Address: 140 George St, The Rocks Mecca is quite literally the 'mecca' of beauty, skincare and wellness in Australia and if you visit their four-level emporium in the historic Gowings Building in Sydney's CBD, you'll also find facialists, brow technicians, makeup-artists and fragrance consultants. They're home to all of the international brands we know and love as well and some local up-and-comers including their own Mecca Cosmetica, which produce the absolute best SPF with no white-cast. Until their new space opens in Melbourne, it's also the largest beauty space we have in the southern hemisphere. Address: Cnr George Street and Market St, Sydney Chill out: Capybara Bathing This wellness centre only opened earlier this year, but it's quickly achieved cult status amongst Sydney-siders. It pays homage to traditional practices from Morocco, Japan, Russia and Korea and offers a series of services including sound baths, magnesium pools, hot-stone saunas and ice scrubs. Address: Ground Floor, 235-239 Commonwealth Street, Surry Hills Culture: The Australian Ballet at the Sydney Opera House The Australian Ballet Company is one of the world's best and they perform both classical ballets and new works in the famous Sydney Opera House. You can walk up the house's iconic steps into a matinee performance of Sleeping Beauty and finish with a drink at their Australiana bar and restaurant, Bennelong. Address: Bennelong Point, Sydney TOPSHOT - Artists perform during the full-dress rehearsal of Australian Ballet's production of Swan Lake at the Sydney Opera House in Sydney on March 31, 2016. Swan Lake will open in Sydney on April 1 before reaching Adelaide and Melbourne. They play a mix of new and old titles and there is a bar on site so you can bring your drinks in to watch the film with you. It's the perfect spot for a night out after dinner. Address: 80 Commonwealth St, Surry Hills Landmark: Bondi Icebergs You can't visit Sydney without stopping by the iconic Bondi Icebergs pool, with panoramic views of Bondi Beach. You can pay an entry fee to swim laps, use the gym or steam in the sauna, or if you're after a more luxe experience, upstairs you can book in for cocktails at their famous restaurant and bar. Address: 1 Notts Ave, Bondi SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA -Bondi Icebergs Club at Bondi Beach (Photo by) Getty Images Your favorite place: Alimentari We have some of the best Greek and Italian-inspired coffee in Australia, and this is one of my favorite local Italian delis. PLT launch summer dress that's over £200 cheaper than designer counterpart

Metro journalists select and curate the products that feature on our site. If you make a purchase via links on this page we will earn commission – learn more With summer just around the corner, we are desperately shopping for new dresses before they sell out. We need ones to wear everyday, on holiday, as a beach cover up, to the office, destination weddings and summer parties. Speaking of, we think we have found the perfect number. We stumbled across PLT's Dark Red Floral Corset A Line Shift Dress, which we think is uber feminine and flattering. As we continued our hunt for new wardrobe staples, we then came across Faithfull The Brand's Sanne Mini Dress in Colette, and the similarity is undeniable. Pretty Little Thing's creation fetches £36, whereas the designer alternative will set you back £250, so of course we're leaning towards PLT's creation to save us over £200. Crafted from a polyester and elastane blend. This mini dress boasts a square neckline and back, thick shoulder straps, a corset bodice, and an A-line mini in dress sizes 4 to 16. It also comes in other colourways. BUY NOW FOR £36 The Sanne Mini Dress is hugely popular, and has almost sold from European flax linen fabric that is free from chemicals, and is a lightweight and breathable material in a vintage floral boasts a low scooped neckline, thin shoulder straps, a fitted bodice, and lantern-cut skirt. Available in three prints, though stock is selling fast. BUY NOW FOR £250 The Dark Red Floral Corset A Line Shift Dress attracted our attention not only because it is an affordable alternative to Faithfull The Brand's premium option, but it is super flattering, and comes in an array of bold prints. The dress boasts a square neckline, and back, thick shoulder straps, and a flattering corset bodice, which cinches in your waist before the A-line mini skirt flares out. It hugs you in all the right places, and creates the most flattering silhouette. This shape bears likeness to the Sanne Mini Dress, which features a low scooped neckline and a fitted body, while the mini skirt offers a straight cut, which has been described as a 'lantern shape', as it is not super figure hugging, but not too exaggerated either. Plus the dress is mini in length and falls midway down the thigh. However, the Sanne dress has thinner straps than the PLT version, and we prefer the latter for extra security. The Sanne Mini Dress has been cleverly designed with dart detail along the waist to cinch in the upper body to create the corset illusion. More Trending This design has been crafted from eco-conscious European flax linen in a vintage floral print, and has cotton lining for comfort and added structure. Both mini dresses come in a floral print, and we think the Colette version of the Sanne dress with its multi-coloured botanical pattern is similar to PLT's romantic design. However, Faithfull The Brand has also created a blue and white floral print version, known as Cecile, as well as a blue baroque print, Aurora. The Aurora and Colette styles of the Sanne dress have almost sold out. So, if you are looking for a similar alternative, and one to save you a few extra pounds, the PLT version is a chic substitute we think looks more premium than its price tag. Whether you opt for the designer or affordable online retailer's dress, these creations lend themselves to the summer party season, festivals and have a place in our holiday wardrobe. Pull out a colour from the dresses to match your kitten heel thong sandals with, opt for a block heel sandal, or wedge, or opt for a Western boot this festival season. You just watch the compliments come flooding in. Best Picks Acting Editor's April favourites 2025: Oral-B, Faithfull The Brand, Kathmandu

April has been one of my favourite months so far. I've travelled, spent a lot of time outdoors (in new sneakers no less), refreshed my loungewear drawer and treated myself to some much-needed R&R. I was lucky to nab an appointment with Pippa James, a much-loved Sydney based facialist who is one of the few people I trust with my sensitive skin. She performed the 60 minute Sculpt and Lift treatment, using massage techniques to lift and tone to the face, draining away any excess fluid. I left feeling refreshed, lighter and more relaxed — she has magic hands. Despite the change of season, I took a trip to Salon Her to lighten my strands. After much discussion with my incredible stylist, she transformed my dull, mousy brown locks into a gorgeous 'bronde'. As for my splurge-worthy buys this month, I've fallen in love with a gorgeous choc dress from Faithfull the Brand, treated feet to a brand-new pair of Under Armour kicks, and updated my bathroom with the best-selling Oral-B toothbrush. Without further ado, here are seven new and noteworthy products I've loved in April. 1. Faithfull The Brand Faroe Maxi Dress, $360 at Faithfull The Brand I always struggle to find wedding guest-appropriate dresses, but this floral maxi from Faithfull The Brand ticked all the boxes. It's the perfect floor-grazing length (with a heel) in a satin-like material that glides across the body. The chocolate colour is perfect for autumn, and I was pleasantly surprised that despite being a low scoop back, the tie ups kept me feeling secure and in place all night — fuller bust ladies will know the struggle. While it's on the expensive side, it's definitely a dress I'll keep coming back to whenever there's a special event in the diary. 2. Kathmandu Feather Flight Carry-On Case, $349.98 at Kathmandu Call me a carry-on queen, because I simply refuse to check bags in. Even on my last trip to Asia (three countries in three weeks) I insisted that my partner and I only take carry-on to eliminate the risk of lost luggage, saving time and quite frankly — overpacking. Weight allowance is the hardest thing to conquer, but when I heard that Kathmandu had released their lightest ever case, the Feather Flight, I knew I had to try for an upcoming two week trip to NZ. Did it past the test? Yes. It's incredibly light (only 1.6kg), spacious and durable, and very easy to squeeze in all my essentials, including a work laptop and toiletries. 3. Under Armour UA Echo Sneakers, $230 at Under Armour Someone recently told me that sneakers should ideally be replaced every six months, particuarly if they are being worn everyday. Chances are the brand-new Under Armour Echo Sneakers landed on my desk at the beginning of the month, and I've been test-driving them daily ever since. Made from an ultra light rubber outersole plus breathable mesh, the slip on design is so easy to put on before leaving the house, and my feet have never felt so supported. They have become my go-to for walking, but given the support and extra bouncy feel, they may become my next running shoe once my current trusty Under Armour pair retire. 4. Ole Henriksen Apres Skin Multi-Use Rich Rescue Crème, $65 at Adore Beauty While I'm so happy to wake up to crisp mornings and darker evenings (autumn is undoubtably my favourite season) I'm already feeling the effects of the winter weather on my skin. As a dry-skin sufferer, I've had to up the ante in order to keep any patches and flakes at bay, particularly after hopping out of a hot shower. One product that I have been generously lathering on is Ole Henriksen's new Rich Rescue Cream. It's a gorgeous, thick creamy texture that absorbs easily into the skin and can be used as an overnight cream or leave-on mask. Jam-packed with barrier-boosting ceramides, it has the ability to visibly plump and soothe a dry or irritated complexion. 5. Saint Valentine Miro Earrings, $205 at The Iconic During summer, I fully leaned into 'boho chic' channelling all kinds of flowing blouses, denim and long boots as a homage to Chloe. As for accessories, I've be wearing the Miro necklace from Saint Valentine, and now the matching Miro hoop earrings are on the way, which are the perfect size for a subtle everyday statement. Made from gold vermeil, I'm always so impressed with the quality of the Aussie made brand, always browsing the new arrivals section to find myself more hidden gems. Retailing for just $205, these sweet hoops make the perfect gift for yourself or some special — a reminder that Mother's Day is just around the corner! 6. Uniqlo C Sweat Wide Pants, $59.90 at Uniqlo After the viral success the Uniqlo C loungewear has received overseas, I knew I had to get my hands on a pair of the trending pants to see what the hype is all about. Unbelievably comfortable, soft and the perfect wide, but-not-too-wide leg, you could wear them anywhere; on the plane, to the pub, running errands or just lounging around the house. So far my favourite look is a tucked in white tee, sneakers and my trusty trench coat, the perfect 'put-together but still comfy' outfit — if I do say so myself. When I popped into the Uniqlo store in Sydney stock was flying off the shelves, so I suggest getting your hands on the Uniqlo C set quickly before they run out of sizes. 7. Oral-B iO 7 Ultimate Electric Toothbrush, was $579 now $275 After spotting an epic deal at Amazon Australia for a best-selling model 50 per cent off, I figured it was about time to try and test a tech-savvy toothbrush. The Ora l-B iO 7 Ultimate Electric is a trusted household name, with a clever AI brushing recognition, automatic timer and smart pressure sensor, to ensure you're cleaning your teeth in the most efficient way possible. While my teeth have felt squeaky clean, I'm most impressed with the sleek design, quick charging and pressure sensor, which leaves me feeling assured that I'm not brushing too hard. This best-seller is still over half price off at Amazon Australia, and worth every cent. If you're on the market for a newbie or due to replace an older model — choose this one.
