Fever President Makes Big Announcement Before New WNBA Season
The Indiana Fever finished the 2024 regular season with a .500 record of 20-20, securing their first playoff berth since 2016 and marking their highest win total in nine years. Head coach Christie Sides led the team to third place in the Eastern Conference but was relieved of her duties after the season, closing her tenure at 33-47 overall. During the off-season, they added veterans DeWanna Bonner (six-time All-Star) and Natasha Howard (three-time champion) to support Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell. While the team prepares for its season opener on Saturday, Fever President Kelly Krauskopf announced that Old National Bank has become the team's official bank partner starting with the 2025 campaign, per Pacers Sports & Entertainment. Under the multi-year agreement, Old National Bank branding will appear across games broadcast on the Old National Bank Radio Network (93.5/107.5 The Fan). On the court, the Fever are tied for second-best odds to win the Finals, thanks in large part to Clark, the 2024 Kia WNBA Rookie of the Year. Clark led all rookies (and the entire league) in assists with 8.4 per game, while averaging 19.2 points and 5.7 rebounds over 40 games. Beyond the court, the "Caitlin Clark effect" fueled record TV ratings and drew franchise-high average attendance records. Fans celebrate as Thunderbirds head to the playoffs
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Saturday night marked the Springfield Thunderbirds' last game of the regular season as they head into the playoffs. Fans did not disappoint tonight. Many say they want to see more of the Thunderbirds and cannot wait to watch them play here at home again during the playoffs. The band Trailer Trash had people motivated to head to the MassMutual Center for the Thunderbirds' last game of the regular season. 'I love how entertaining it is,' said one Thunderbirds fan. 'I've been looking forward to the fights though.' Another sold-out game for the Thunderbirds on Fan Appreciation Night, as they get ready for the Calder Cup playoffs. The Thunderbirds will host game two of the playoffs on April 25. 'They're going to the playoffs with more momentum going,' another T-Birds fan said. Thunderbirds Captain Matthew Peca has also been named to the AHL first All-Star team. He's recorded 199 points as a Thunderbird, the most in club history. If you want to head to the playoffs and support the team, you can do that right in Springfield. In less than a week, they'll be playing game two here at home.
