FedEx rolls out AI-powered tools for seamless documentation

KUALA LUMPUR: Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) recently launched two AI-powered tools – Customs AI and the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Code Lookup Feature – across Asia-Pacific (Apac) markets. In a statement, FedEx said these solutions are designed to simplify the often-complex process of completing global shipping documents needed for international shipments, em-powering businesses and individuals to ship with greater ease, accuracy and confidence. Inaccurate shipping documents remain a major challenge in global trade. To address this challenge, FedEx has integrated new tools into its FedEx Ship Manager platform on giving customers an intuitive way to navigate shipment requirements more seamlessly. 'At FedEx, we are driven by our commitment to delivering flexibility, efficiency, and intelligence for our customers,' said FedEx senior vice-president of marketing & customer experience for Apac, Salil Chari. By leveraging advanced digital insights and intuitive tools, he added, they are empowering businesses with the agility to adapt, the efficiency to streamline operations, and the intelligence to make better decisions. 'These innovations not only simplify global trade but also enable our customers to grow their businesses with confidence in an ever-evolving marketplace,' he said. Currently available in Australia, Guam, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, and the Philippines, Customs AI uses generative AI to simplify shipment documentation. It analyses customer inputs in real time, prompts for precise item descriptions, and helps select the correct HTS codes, which can be added to shipment documents with one click. Each suggested HTS code also includes a direct link to the official US HTS tariff schedule, educating customers on the selection and ensuring full transparency and verification. To further support businesses in navigating evolving trade regulations, FedEx offers a range of customer-centric initiatives including webinars designed to provide practical know-ledge and insights on customs compliance and global shipping best practices. These webinars, combined with the robust FedEx suite of digital import solutions such as the FedEx Import Tool and Collaborative Shipping Tool, empower businesses to adapt confidently to dynamic trade environments.

FedEx Team Members Inspire Creativity and Environmental Stewardship in Children Through Nature Art

TOKYO, July 30, 2025 /3BL/ - Federal Express Corporation, one of the world's largest express transportation companies, has helped bring the beauty of nature and the power of creativity to children from care homes in the Greater Tokyo Area. The Back to Nature program, organized by the local nonprofit Mirai no Mori and held in Mitake in western Tokyo, offered FedEx volunteers a unique opportunity to connect with children through a day of immersive, nature-based craft activities. During this one-day program, participants worked collaboratively to gather materials along the Tama River, and brainstorm ideas to create distinctive works of nature art. The volunteers encouraged the children to explore their creativity while sharing insights on the importance of environmental stewardship. 'At FedEx, we are committed to investing in the well-being of our communities, and enhancing the local environment,' said Kei Alan Kubota, managing director of FedEx Japan. 'We believe that experiences in nature not only boost creativity and teamwork but also instill a lasting sense of environmental responsibility. These values will benefit these children throughout their lives, nurturing them into thoughtful and engaged members of society.' In Japan, about 23,000 children live in care homes due to various circumstances. [1] The Back to Nature program is designed to provide empowering experiences and learning opportunities for these children through outdoor activities such as hiking, forestry, and rafting. These activities aim to equip the children with the confidence and resilience needed for a successful transition into adulthood, particularly after they leave the care system and must navigate life independently. Moreover, the planning department is located on-site, allowing for optimal freight scheduling. With an A-level energy label and FedEx's broader goal of achieving carbon-neutral operations by 2040, the facility has been designed with sustainability in mind. It includes fourteen charging stations for electric vehicles and four charging points for the general public. The site is also equipped with LED lighting and automated lighting sensors to minimize energy consumption. FedEx has scheduled an initial three electric vehicles for deployment in 2025, as part of the company's phased approach to electrification.i An Improved Working Environment Beyond operational efficiency and sustainability, FedEx is also investing in a comfortable and safe working environment. In addition to ergonomic workstations, modern office facilities, and a customer desk for enhanced service and direct shipments, the Vianen facility incorporates advanced safety measures.
