Kyle & Jackie O Show land massive win in Melbourne amid ratings war - after Kyle Sandilands threatens to pull the show if listeners don't tune in
Kyle Sandilands may have threatened to pull The Kyle & Jackie O Show from Melbourne on Wednesday morning, but it seems the shock jock is now here to stay following a huge ratings win in the city. The KIIS FM breakfast radio show, which under-performed in the Victorian capital during its multimillion dollar expansion last year, has had nothing but wins in the 2025 ratings war so far. After a 0.1 per cent increase in market share during survey one, Sydney 's hit duo Kyle, 53, and Jackie 'O' Henderson landed another 0.7 per cent of the Melbourne audience in GfK survey two which released on Thursday. Kyle originally told his Victorian listeners on Wednesday morning he had no plans to 'super serve Melbourne and ignore our Sydney audience' to increase ratings in the south. 'You either glue on in Melbourne or you [expletive]. One or the other. Here's something I haven't even discussed with Jackie... if we don't rate better by the end of this year, I'm pulling the carpet out,' he threatened. 'I'll just take the show off Melbourne... We're not just going to suck Melbourne off all day, every day.' Whether it was Kyle's expletive-filled threat, or The Kyle & Jackie O Show's recently successful local broadcast at St Kilda Beach, the Sydney show has now achieved the biggest Breakfast market share growth in the latest survey. While the show seems to be in a steady incline, now sitting at a 5.8 per cent market share, Kyle and Jackie, 50, still have a ways to go before they reach the top of the scoreboard in Melbourne. AM still reigns supreme in overall Melbourne Breakfast radio with Nine's talkback station 3AW, though the show has taken a hit this survey with a 1.8 per cent drop to 18.8. Gold 104.3's The Christian O'Connell Show is still barely holding onto the FM Breakfast lead at 10.8, down 0.7. Meanwhile, Kyle and Jackie's rivals ex-KIIS FM stars Jason 'Jase' Hawkins and Lauren Phillips are fighting to get back into the FM lead with their Nova 100 show, now sitting at 10.2, up 0.1 per cent. Former number one show Fifi, Fev and Nick at Fox FM has lost yet another point, dropping down to 8.3 from 8.4 last survey in a steady decline. Triple M's Mick in the Morning with Roo, Titus and Rosie and smoothfm 91.5 have switched places, with Triple M dropping by 0.6 to 7.3 as smoothfm slides in with 7.6, up 0.1 per cent. This leaves Kyle and Jackie to move up a place to 5.8, taking over ABC Melbourne on AM, which has dropped by 0.7 to 5.6. The KIIS FM breakfast radio show, which under-performed in the Victorian capital during its multimillion dollar expansion last year, has had nothing but wins in the 2025 ratings war so far While the dynamic duo continue to claw their way up the leader board in Melbourne, the Sydney juggernauts are still reigning supreme in FM Breakfast in their hometown with a market share lead of 12.3 percent. 'Fifty consecutive surveys at number one in Sydney is an extraordinary achievement and a true reflection of Kyle and Jackie O's enduring connection with their audience,' ARN's Chief Content Officer Duncan Campbell said. 'While the show continues to dominate in its home market, we're seeing positive signs in Melbourne, with two consecutive surveys showing strong increases in both awareness and audience. 'This consistent growth since January is clear evidence that our strategy is working. We remain confident in the strength of the brand and the content.' Last year, Kyle and Jackie took their radio show to Melbourne in a huge multimillion dollar expansion deal. The move triggered the axing of Jase and Lauren's own KIIS FM breakfast show, which Sandilands said he was indifferent about. 'No, I don't care. That's why we went for Melbourne, we were like, "We've given this Jase and Lauren on KIIS FM a good run, it can't get over fourth in the radio ratings, so we'll take it,"' he told at the time. He added The Kyle & Jackie O Show was moved to Melbourne because it was a 'market in trouble' and their program could help regain listeners. Sydney's hit duo Kyle, 53, and Jackie 'O' Henderson landed a 0.7 per cent increase of the Melbourne audience in GfK survey two which released on Thursday, but they're still a few spots behind rivals Jason 'Jase' Hawkins and Lauren Phillips However, Jackie took a different approach, adding that while she didn't like competitors being axed it was the unfortunate reality of the business. 'No one ever wants to move someone out of a job. I wouldn't want that to happen to me. It's a double edged sword, it really is,' she said. But Kyle and Jackie struggled to capture the Melbourne market in their first year. In November, Kyle vowed to reduce the graphic sexual content on his KIIS FM radio show in 2025 to appeal to the Melbourne audience more broadly. In a bid to make a dent in the market, Campbell said Kyle will have to dial back on the 'smut' and inappropriate on-air remarks. 'The sexual content was really a small part of the show,' he told Mumbrella at the time. 'Because it was graphic, it grabbed everyone's attention—but [Kyle's] taken that off, really. It's still sexual content. But not the graphic sexual content that it once was.' Campbell also told the outlet Kyle 'came to the table' with toning down on the graphic content. 'He agreed to do that, which was a real positive,' he added. 'And, I mean, he wants to win in Melbourne. There's no doubt about that.' Elsewhere, the CCO also promised their marketing tactics will be 'less brash and unapologetic'. 'We believe, with the removal of the graphic sexual content, the show's much, much easier to listen to now,' he said.

Fifi Box reveals horrifying moment she saved a drowning baby's life while on holiday in the Maldives: 'I was traumatised'
Fifi Box has revealed how a harrowing ordeal, that saw her leap into action to save a baby's life, left her traumatised. Recounting the horrific story on her Fox FM Fifi, Fev and Nick show on Tuesday, the radio star told co-hosts Brendan Fevola and Nick Cody that that incident occurred during a family holiday to the Maldives. Explaining that she wasn't sure if her co-stars would believe her tale, Fifi, 48, enlisted witnesses to back up her story. 'We were in the pool non-stop. But something happened one day in the pool, and I thought if I told you boys, you might not believe me,' Fifi explained. 'So, I found myself a witness, a lovely Australian couple, Emma and Pete from Brisbane.' Fifi then called on Emma to give her version of the dramatic incident which she said was 'confronting and scary'. 'We were drinking our Pina Colada's by the pool. You were in the water with [youngest daughter] Daisy, and a little girl had spent a lot of time floating around on her own,' Emma explained. 'Someone yelled, "Oh my god, she's gone under!" You turned around, picked her up, and plucked her out of the water. It was very confronting and scary to see.' When Brendan Fevola asked Emma if his co-host had saved the lucky child's life, Emma said if Fifi hadn't been there, the situation may've taken a darker turn. 'She did [save the baby's life] because her parents weren't in the pool with her - they were on their sun lounge,' Emma said. 'She was probably three, she wasn't in floaties, just a floating ring, and I think she had slipped out.' Fifi added that the incident had affected her and daughter Daisy so much, they had to leave the pool. 'There was deathly silence around the pool for minutes afterwards. I started crying and had to leave - Daisy and I left because it was too confronting,' she said. 'I was the only adult in the pool, and I turned around; she would have been 10 metres from me but under the water. 'We were in the pool non-stop. But something happened one day in the pool, and I thought if I told you boys, you might not believe me,' Fifi explained. 'So, I found myself a witness, a lovely Australian couple, Emma and Pete from Brisbane' 'We were drinking our Pina Colada's by the pool. You were in the water with [youngest daughter] Daisy, and a little girl had spent a lot of time floating around on her own,' Emma explained. 'Someone yelled, "Oh my god, she's gone under!" You turned around, picked her up, and plucked her out of the water. It was very confronting and scary to see' 'We didn't know how long she had been under for. I plucked her up, and she was vomiting water all over me. It was horrible.' Fellow witness Pete added that it was fortunate that it was Fifi that was called upon to spring into action. 'I was probably three pina coladas in so it was lucky it was you in the water,' Pete said to Fifi. Continuing the conversation with her co-stars, Fifi added that she was surprised by the lackadaisical response from the child's parents. 'The mum didn't even get off the sun lounge,' she said. 'I'm actually fascinated because I've now been tested. I'm someone who freezes; whenever something goes wrong, I'm the person who can't move. 'When I saw that baby go under, I just raced to her. I was really traumatised.' Fifi added: 'When she was vomiting and coming back to life – she was limp – so when she started to breathe and get all the water out… but the Mum hadn't moved. Everyone just stood around. I was visibly shaken.' Another caller, Liz, also phoned in to back up Fifi's story revealing that she and her daughter witnessed the incident unfold. Fifi has two children - Trixie, 11 and Daisy, five. She shares Trixie with with former Ironman and Olympian Grant Kenny, while Fifi welcomed Daisy in 2019 via IVF and an anonymous sperm donor. In November, the radio personality told Stellar magazine she's proud to have her media platform to show diverse families to everyday Aussies. 'It's important to point out and educate that families come in all different shapes and sizes,' she said at the time. 'Because I'm in the media and have a profile and platform, I'm able to shape and shift that, but it is frustrating,' she added.

Saturday Night Live denies Ryan Reynolds pitched joke about Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni row
The Saturday Night Live team has shut down claims that Ryan Reynolds swapped a scripted joke for a gag about his wife Blake Lively 's ongoing legal drama with Justin Baldoni during the show's 50th anniversary extravaganza. The Deadpool actor, 48, appeared to allude to the high profile row between It Ends With Us co-stars Lively, 37, and Baldoni, 41, when he responded to a question from hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as part of SNL50, a star-studded celebration of the comedy show's milestone birthday. When he was asked 'how's it going?', Reynolds responded with 'Great! Why? What have you heard?' in an apparent reference to the scandal. SNL 's cue card holder Wally Feresten then told the Fifi, Fev and Nick podcast that Reynolds had 'pitched' the line as a replacement for another joke. 'He had a different line in rehearsal, and he pitched that to replace it. So, that was his idea to do it,' he claimed. 'We wouldn't want to do anything too controversial unless they were in on it. Yeah, that was his line. That was his idea.' However an SNL spokesperson denied the claim to The Hollywood Reporter and noted that Feresten is not involved in the show's creative process. A source close to Reynolds told the publication that the opening joke was pitched by SNL and did not change, whereas the follow-up joke, which included a reference to SNL 's recurring 'Coneheads' sketch, was rewritten during rehearsal. Rumours of a feud between Lively and Baldoni began to circulate last year when they appeared to keep their distance from one another while promoting It Ends With Us, an adaptation of Colleen Hoover's novel, which Baldoni also directed. In December, Lively sued Baldoni for sexual harassment and claimed that he had tried to 'destroy' her reputation. Baldoni has denied the allegations. He then filed a $250 million lawsuit against the New York Times after it published an article detailing Lively's claims, and later launched a $400 million countersuit against Lively and Reynolds. Baldoni's lawyer Bryan Freedman has publicly criticised the SNL50 joke, telling Hot Mics With Billy Bush: 'I'm unaware of anybody, frankly, whose wife has been sexually harassed and has made jokes about that type of situation. 'I can't think of anyone who's done anything like that. It surprised me.'

'SNL' denies claim Ryan Reynolds wrote controversial joke about Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni lawsuit
Despite a "Saturday Night Live" staffer claiming Ryan Reynolds' joke during the 50th anniversary special was "his idea," a representative for the famed sketch comedy show has denied his involvement. During an appearance on the "Fifi, Fev and Nick" podcast on Tuesday, veteran "SNL" staffer Wally Feresten said Reynolds pitched the joke that poked fun at the ongoing legal drama between his wife, Blake Lively, and Justin Baldoni during rehearsals. "He had a different line in rehearsal, and he pitched that to replace it," Feresten, whose role is to hold the cue cards during every live show, said. "That was his idea." "We wouldn't want to do anything too controversial unless they were in on it," he added. "So, yeah, that was his line. That was his idea to do." Representatives for Reynolds and "SNL" denied this claim. Fox News Digital has also learned that Feresten is not a part of the writing or creative process. During the special, former cast members Tina Fey and Amy Poehler took the stage to engage with celebrities in the audience. When Reynolds stood up, the comedy duo asked, "How's it going?" Reynolds jokingly responded, "Great, why? What have you heard?" He was seemingly referencing the ongoing, and very public, back-and-forth with Baldoni. The response seemed to have caught Lively off guard as she appeared to nervously look up at her husband of 12 years. Despite the attempted joke, some fans were not thrilled with the couple's appearance. "Given this results in an awkward moment that kind of hangs rather than the hosts quipping back with some kind of joke and Blake's facial expression, I don't think this was planned at all. I think Ryan's attention-hungry nonsense caused him to take the chance to go for it," an X user theorized. Others were quick to offer their support, with one user writing, "I thought it was funny. Yall are too serious." "Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively showing up to SNL 50 is bold," another wrote, adding a laughing emoji. In December, Lively detailed allegations of sexual harassment, retaliation, intentional affliction of emotional distress, negligence and more against Baldoni and film producer Jamey Heath in a complaint first filed with the California Civil Rights department and later in federal court. In response, Baldoni filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively and her husband, accusing them of civil extortion and defamation. Not long after filing his lawsuit, Baldoni and his team released unedited footage from the set of "It Ends with Us" that they claimed refutes Lively's previous accusations of sexual harassment. However, the actress' legal team claimed that the footage bolsters Lively's allegations. After the release, Lively's legal team demanded a gag order be issued against Baldoni's lawyer. On Jan. 23, Baldoni's lawyers filed a response, calling Lively's gag order attempt an "intimidation tactic" and "tactical gamesmanship." A judge later ordered that they both follow New York's Rules of Professional Conduct, which limit speaking to the press. On Tuesday, Lively filed an amended complaint that documents a slew of new details in addition to her original claims of sexual harassment, retaliation and infliction of emotional distress. In the 141-page complaint that was filed late Tuesday in New York federal court, Lively claimed there are two other actresses involved with the film that are willing and prepared to detail their own experiences with Baldoni that made them "uncomfortable on set." "The complaint includes significant contemporaneous evidence that Ms. Lively was not alone in raising allegations of on-set misconduct more than a year before the Film was edited; as well as evidence detailing the threats, harassment, and intimidation of not just Ms. Lively, but numerous innocent bystanders that have followed defendants' retaliatory campaign," Lively's attorneys Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb told Fox News Digital in a statement. In response, Baldoni's attorney, Bryan Freedman, told Fox News Digital the claim is "hearsay." "Our clients have been transparent in providing receipts, real-time documents and video showing a completely different story than what has been manipulated and cherry-picked to the media," Freedman said in a statement. "Our clients have taken this matter and these issues very seriously, notwithstanding the jokes made publicly by the plaintiff and her husband. Her underwhelming amended complaint is filled with unsubstantial hearsay of unnamed persons who are clearly no longer willing to come forward or publicly support her claims."

Ryan Reynolds pitched 'SNL 50' joke about Justin Baldoni lawsuit: 'That was his idea,' claims staffer
Ryan Reynolds is at the center of controversy after an 'SNL 50' staffer claimed he was behind the joke referencing his wife Blake Lively's legal drama with Justin Baldoni. During the anniversary special, Reynolds stood up from his seat next to Lively for a segment with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, where he quipped, 'Great! Why? What have you heard?'—a remark that many believe alluded to Lively's legal battle with her former 'It Ends With Us' co-star. Wally Feresten, the show's longtime cue card handler, alleged on the 'Fifi, Fev and Nick' podcast that the joke was Reynolds' own idea. 'He had a different line in rehearsal and he pitched that to replace it,' Feresten claimed. 'That was his idea.' The 'SNL' staffer added, 'We wouldn't want to do anything too controversial unless they were in on it.' However, a source close to Reynolds has denied the claims, as has NBC. The backlash was swift. Baldoni's attorney, Bryan Freedman, weighed in on the moment during an appearance on 'Hot Mics with Billy Bush,' saying, 'I'm unaware of anybody, frankly, whose wife has been sexually harassed and has made jokes about that type of situation. I can't think of anyone who's done anything like that. So it surprised me.' An insider later told Page Six that Baldoni's legal team may use Reynolds and Lively's 'SNL 50' appearance to their advantage. 'Justin is taking this lawsuit in all seriousness and isn't making a public mockery out of it,' the source said. The controversy escalated when Lively filed an amended complaint in a New York federal court following the backlash to Reynolds' joke. The new legal documents reportedly allege that other women involved with the film have come forward, claiming Baldoni's actions on set made them uncomfortable. Meanwhile, social media reactions have been divided, with some calling Reynolds' joke 'tone-deaf' and others defending it as a harmless remark. 'Gross. So they're supporting the bullies too,' one social media user commented, while another wrote, 'SNL has always been sooo problematic. Highlighting the abusers while making fun of the victims.'
