The Star's beloved women's event, The Choice is Yours, returns by popular demand on September 6, extending a powerful invitation to women from all walks of life to honour their strength, share their stories, and celebrate their impact across every sphere of society.
Now in its fifth edition, the event is designed to create a safe, empowering space where women can openly confront and discuss even the most challenging issues they face, all in the spirit of the theme, which calls on women to reclaim agency over their lives: to speak their truth, embrace their identities, and make decisions that honour their values, goals, and wellbeing.
Among the distinguished guests are Spicey Luscious, Radio 2000's DJ Nkosh, Enhle the Medium, Sister in Law Tebello, Shaz Motaung, and Noxolo Zungu, with the event hosted by the dynamic Celeste Ntuli.
Kgomotso Masela, affectionately known as Spicey Luscious, makes her third appearance at The Choice is Yours, bringing an even bolder, spicier session aimed at empowering women to explore, embrace, and celebrate their bodies with confidence.

Masela said the event offers a safe space for women to be seen, heard, and supported, values that align closely with her work as a sex and intimacy coach. 'Each year, I see women growing, asking deeper questions and wanting more for themselves. That shift is powerful,' she shared.
She also said that she hopes every woman walks away from her session feeling empowered and affirmed.
'I want her to leave knowing she is not broken. She is allowed to feel good. She is allowed to ask for more. And most importantly, she is not alone. Masela noted that the stigma around sex and pleasure is gradually fading, as more women are becoming open and confident about their needs. Where many once reached out privately with fear or shame, they now engage publicly, ask questions without hesitation, and attend her sessions with friends. Through her work at Spicey Luscious, she's observed a growing number of women embracing their desires, purchasing products for themselves, and rejecting societal norms that once silenced them. This shift, she said, marks a powerful step toward women prioritising their own joy and wellbeing.
She recalled two standout moments in her journey as a sex coach. One involved a 46-year-old woman who, after years of marriage without ever experiencing an orgasm, attended one of her sessions. With some gentle guidance and recommended products, the woman later shared that she had finally discovered her pleasure. Another moment came from a man who was working at the event and had brought his wife along. He later expressed gratitude, saying he had never seen his wife so energised and eager after listening to the session, a sign, for Masela, that simply shifting the mindset was already a powerful result.
The intimacy coach urged women to begin their journey to self-connection with small, gentle steps. This might involve appreciating their bodies in the mirror, spending a few moments breathing and checking in with themselves, or exploring informative content on the Spicey Luscious website without any pressure.
