The Bengal Files teaser: A chilling story with powerhouse performers
An image of Goddess Durga's idol burning ends the teaser for 'The Bengal Files'. Directed and written by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, the film aims at diving deep into Bengal's political and cultural history, claiming to reveal some unsaid makers released the teaser for the film on Thursday, promising an engaging and 'haunting' watch. This film marks the third installment in Agnihotri's politically charged 'Files' trilogy and is now scheduled for theatrical release on September 5, 2025. Produced by Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi, and Agnihotri himself, 'The Bengal Files' delves into the harrowing communal violence that affected undivided Bengal in the 1940s, particularly focusing on Direct Action Day and the Noakhali riots. The filmmaker characterizes the events depicted in the film as a 'Hindu genocide,' aiming to shed light on long-neglected historical episodes.
