Fishing website ranks Panama City among top 8 red snapper fishing sites in the Gulf
PANAMA CITY ― Panama City has been named one of the top red-snapper fishing destinations in the Gulf, according to provided a list of eight fishing destinations for red-snapper fishing in which Panama City was one of the destinations. The website did not rank the eight. Florida took three other spots on the list: Pensacola Beach, Clearwater and Lee County. The others include Galveston, Texas; Dauphin Island, Alabama; Grand Isle, Louisiana; and The Secret Coast, Mississippi. "While Panama City itself is tucked behind a barrier island, it only takes a quick exit through St. Andrews Inlet and you're in prime Red Snapper territory," The FishingBooker website says. Lake Champlain gets national recognition
PLATTSBURGH — Lake Champlain, long known anecdotally as one of the best fisheries in the nation, has gained official recognition of such a title. FishingBooker, one of the world's largest platforms for booking fishing trips, has listed the lake as one of the top 18 freshwater fishing destinations in the country. FISHING 'GREAT THROUGHOUT' SEASON In naming Lake Champlain as one of the best, FishingBooker said, 'To start with, you'll get to chase after big lake trout, landlocked Atlantic salmon, and bass here. These are the most commonly targeted species, but the lake also holds northern pike and musky, as well as yellow perch and walleye.' It also mentioned, 'Trout and salmon fishing starts in early April, which is also an excellent time to reel in the rest of the lake's most coveted game fish. Usually, the fish will be lurking close to shore in spring and fall and moving deep in summertime, but the fishing is great throughout the open water season.' The North Country Chamber of Commerce, which promotes many of the professional fishing tournaments on the lake, said the lake has once again proven itself a world-class destination for anglers. 1,000 Islands named top fishing spot by publication
WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – According to one fishing website, the 1,000 Islands is the top spot for anglers. The website FishingBooker recently released its list of the top 10 fishing destinations for 2025 and the 1,000 Islands earned the number one slot. NYS record Longnose Gar caught in Northern Jefferson County The website raved about the amount of smallmouth bass that are in the St. Lawrence River. 'Smallmouths weighing between three and five pounds are common catches here, which is an average not too many other destinations can compete with,' a description said. 'Of course, there are even bigger bass swimming about, with some reaching over 8 pounds. The peak season to catch yourself a 'Biggie Smalls' in St. Lawrence River is in June and July.' FishingBooker also raved about the scenery 'that's almost otherworldly in its beauty.'
