‘Carrie' Series Officially Sets Summer Howell As Lead; Samantha Sloyan, Josie Totah & Amber Midthunder Among Cast

Prime Video's Carrie, a TV adaptation of the Stephen King novel of the same name, has confirmed its lead cast, including Summer Howell (Curse of Chucky) as the titular horror teen Carrie White, who Deadline reported was in talks back in April. We also revealed that Matthew Lillard (Five Nights at Freddy's) was set to join as Principal Grayle in May and has now closed on the role. The new cast includes Samantha Sloyan (The Fall of the House of Usher) as Carrie's mom, Margaret White, Alison Thornton (Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce) as Chris Hargensen, Thalia Dudek (The Running Man) as Emaline, Siena Agudong (Sidelined: The QB and Me) as Sue Snell, Amber Midthunder (FX's Legion) as Miss Desjardin, Josie Totah (AppleTV+'s The Buccaneers) as Tina, and Arthur Conti (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) as Billy, Joel Oulette (Sullivan's Crossing) as Tommy. After her father's sudden death, Carrie finds herself contending with the challenges of attending high school, a bullying scandal, and the emergence of mysterious telekinetic powers. King's novel has been previously adapted for the big screen, with Sissy Spacek playing Carrie in the 1976 Brian De Palma movie Carrie, and Chloë Grace Moretz in the 2013 remake. Mike Flanagan (The Fall of the House of Usher, Midnight Mass) is the writer, executive producer, and showrunner, and will direct select episodes. Yara Sameh Mike Flanagan's Amazon Prime Video series adaptation of 'Carrie' has rounded out its main cast. Matthew Lillard (Five Nights at Freddy's) was also previously reported to be cycling the role of Principal Grayle in May and has now closed on the role. Universal Pictures has realeased a new poster for Blumhouse's upcoming horror movie Five Nights At Freddy's 2 , which looks like will be a great sequel. If you haven't watched the trailer for it yet, you can check it out here. There's no plot summary for the film yet, but the tagline reads: 'Anyone can survive five nights. This time, there will be no second chances…' Blumhouse's Five Nights at Freddy's was the highest-grossing horror film of 2023, and the sequel will devlier a blood-chilling new chapter of animatronic terror. Based on Scott Cawthon's blockbuster horror game series, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is again directed by acclaimed filmmaker Emma Tammi ( The Wind, Blood Moon ). The first film followed Mike, a troubled young man who reluctantly takes a job as a night security guard at an abandoned theme restaurant, Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, hoping it will help him retain custody of his young sister. That fateful decision instead drags him into the black heart of a supernatural nightmare. Mike's story continues in the upcoming sequel. The movie stars Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard is also coming back for more chaotic animatronic mayhem! Jim Henson's Creature Shop is also back handling the animatronics! Lillard previously said of the sequel: 'I will say that I think the filmmakers have done a great job of learning from the first movie of what fans want, and I think they're giving a lot more of that. It's going to be more exciting, and I think it's going to have more action.' Blumhouse confirmed that this movie will be released only in theaters on December 5, 2025.

The studio shared a poster for the movie Sunday at the CCXP festival and on its Instagram account. The teaser shows an apparent radio device with Freddy Fazbear's face and the question "you there?" The original Five Nights at Freddy's raked in some $300 million following its release in theaters in 2023. The film and its sequel are based on the video game franchise and star Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard. Hutcherson portrays a night guard at an empty pizza restaurant who encounters haunted animatronics. Blumhouse's The Black Phone sequel, which arrives Oct. 17, was also previewed during the event. That film will star Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, Madeline McGraw, Jeremy Davies and Demian Bichir.
