Fans Cheer Joanna Gaines on Amid a MAJOR Relationship Milestone

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Joanna Gaines is dancing through another year of love—literally. The Magnolia maven took to Instagram to reveal she's celebrating 22 years of marriage with husband Chip. Convention says a 22nd marriage anniversary is the copper year, but the dynamic duo is shaking things up with dance classes. "We've loved turning our date nights into dance nights," Joanna captioned her post, which shows sweet clips of the Fixer Upper stars getting their groove on. "We are going to need quite a few more lessons, but this is so much fun!" According to Joanna, the two have been taking classes at Arthur Murray's Waco studio—and thanks the instructors for their "patience." However, fans would agree Joanna and Chip are doing just fine on the dance floor. "You two have some MOVES," one fan commented. "Love this for you guys," another wrote. "I've been telling my husband for years that I want dance lessons!" A third even tagged Dancing With the Stars's account and asked how Chip and Joanna can join the upcoming season. While some people were quick to comment on their dancing skills, the majority of fans praised the Fixer Upper stars for being the ultimate power couple. One fan even called them, "America's favorite couple." So, the question everyone's wondering, what's their secret to a long-term marriage? Well, it's changed over the years. 'Our secret ingredient to our marriage and working relationship is a solid mutual respect," Chip said in 2022. 'We definitely disagree. It's not perfect. A lot of hard work goes into this, but if you can get to a mutual place of respect, you can change the world.' Recently, however, Joanna shared working out together has made their bond "stronger." But, if you ask us, a willingness to grow remains at the core of their foundation. "Here's to learning new things the older we get," Joanna wrote at the end of her post. Bye-Bye Eyesores: 39 Things That'll Make Your Home Feel Way More Put Together

A sleek and ~sneaky~ shoe-storage cabinet for your entryway so a shoe pile isn't the first thing you see when you walk through the door. Bonus: it'll serve as a gorgeous piece of decor with plenty of room for essentials on top! A faux book display to conceal messy outlets, cables, and other eyesores for a clean, organized vibe. You won't mind having everyone comment on your impressive book collection either. A slim storage cart with locking wheels — it's perfect for areas with limited space, like bathrooms, laundry rooms, etc. that desperately need more storage without causing more clutter to gawk at. A large woven storage basket that'll be a lovely addition to the corner of any room *and* it's perfect for hiding odds and ends you don't want strewn about, like your massive blanket and throw pillow collection that never seems to stop growing, for example. A bamboo shelf with a tilt-out hamper — does anyone really enjoy having a hamper that sticks out like a sore thumb? This saves space, conceals it, *and* gives you a couple of storage shelves, too. Brick whitewash paint to make it look like your home was just featured on an episode of Fixer Upper. This can turn a painful eyesore into a stunning focal point, so what are you waiting for?? A cable organizer box featuring a ventilated design that'll protect your peace and conceal the god-awful mess! It has three rear entry/exit points so you can run your cables into it from ALL angles. Plus, an under-desk cable management tray if you really want to get serious about hiding your cables. This will keep all those cords dangling behind your desk organized *and* hidden. Some concrete paint that'll give your dull, depressing floors the refresh they deserve. It'll require some elbow grease, but the jaw-dropping before and after photos alone will be worth it. A litter box enclosure because as much as you love your kitto, you could probably do without a litter box in the middle of the room. This will serve as a piece of furniture *and* decor while hiding the litter box you love to hate. A wipe-on finish restorer to make tired, worn-out furniture look brand new again. You should probably buy this stuff before your evil glare burns a hole in that piece of furniture that simply needs a refresher. Or for smaller jobs, a set of wood repair markers so you can get rid of those scuffs and scratches. This quick and easy DIY fix will have your stuff lookin' flawless in no time. A faux ivy privacy screen for the eyesores you have little control over, like your neighbor's messy backyard. Put this up to beautify your space *and* hide the chaos ruining your view. Under-bed storage bags when it's time to say goodbye to seasonal items (for now, anyway). You'll be able to store bulky items out of sight where they belong. If you already make a habit of shoving stuff under the bed to hide it, at least this will keep it somewhat organized. And while you're at it, a pleated bed skirt to hide all the stuff you're storing under your bed because who wants to see that?? This neat and tidy solution will blend in with the room seamlessly. A TV cord cover — you didn't do ALL that work of mounting your very expensive television just to have the aesthetic ruined with a mess of cords. This cover basically *becomes* part of the wall, so you'll have to squint to spot it. A mini bottle of touch-up paint that'll mask any unsightly scuff marks or scratches around your home. Use it on your walls, furniture, cabinets, etc. It's no wonder renters love this stuff. And when all else fails, a gallon of self-priming paint so you can redo the wall that requires more than a few touchups. It's made without toxic solvents so it won't stink up the entire room. If you're not sure about committing to a full gallon, you can grab a single-color swatch for just $3! A mid-century starburst chandelier bound to turn heads when anyone enters the room in *the* best way. If you've been looking for a piece of decor to tie your space together and replace that old shabby chandelier that's hanging by a thread, the search is officially over. An electric pressure washer for tackling all the dirty surfaces around your property you hate to look at. This heavy-duty washer can clean decks, fences, and driveways. It comes with a garden hose adapter, so you can start cleaning up your outdoor area ASAP! And a semi-transparent deck and stain stealer because it only makes sense to lock in all the hard work you just did. Wood surfaces will be stained, sealed, and protected from the harsh elements for the foreseeable future. It'll be so sleek and shiny, you won't be able to take your eyes off it, but in a GOOD way! A flat outlet plug that'll turn bulky, cluttered outlets into a distant memory. Your room will look wayyy more put together when you swap it out for this sleek outlet plug. Tbh, you might even cringe thinking of how long you allowed yourself to live with that mess on display. A clever decorative box with a hinged lid — it'll come in handy for concealing odds and ends while helping you keep track of the things that always seem to get misplaced. Think remotes, glasses, pillcases, and so on. Some modern pendant lights to replace the awful ones you've been holding a secret grudge against for years. You'll actually enjoy looking at these, and your guests will never stop complimenting them. And a recessed light conversion kit so you can bid farewell to the ugly canned lighting in your home and say hello to some luxurious pendant lights instead! When you're done, you can even paint it to blend in with your existing decor so the eyesore factor = handled. A set of metal furniture leg replacements capable of transforming the entire look of an old cabinet or sofa. Buying a whole new piece of furniture isn't always in the budget, but this revamp is an affordable alternative! A sneaky slide-out trash can because who wants their garbage to be the first thing guests see upon entering the kitchen? Not you, that's who!! Once it's installed, you'll feel much better knowing your trash is nowhere to be seen. A roll of toilet sealant tape if you have no intention of picking up a tube of caulk in this lifetime or the next. This self-adhesive tape is flexible and will put such a nice finishing touch on your porcelain throne that you actually won't mind looking at it! A vinyl transition floor strip for that one threshold in your home that makes you roll your eyes whenever you see it. This will make the transition between rooms and flooring look much more natural. A magical oil stain remover that'll help bring your driveway and paved walkways back to their original glory days. Simply apply the formula, allow it to dry, then brush it away to reveal a stain-free surface! Some switch plate covers so you can ~switch~ up all the boring white and beige ones that are currently plaguing your home. You're welcome! Ceiling-mount shelves when your storage situation is dismal at best and you don't have any room for more furniture. Enter these brilliant shelves that will remain (mostly) out of sight without taking up any valuable floor space! A macramé tapestry to hide that unsightly electrical panel that makes you want to scream whenever you lay eyes on it. Problem solved! A bottle of metallic spray paint for reviving metal fixtures and decor items that have seen better days. Your old dingy doorknobs, faucets, and light fixtures don't stand a chance. A privacy screen that'll conceal those outdoor monstrosities you hate the most — you know, pool equipment, garbage cans, air conditioning units, and anything else that diminishes your curb appeal. A ~handy~ sink soap dispenser tube kit because that ugly plastic bottle from the dollar store is not doing anything for your kitchen's aesthetic. You'll have one less slippery bottle near the sink *and* you'll have to refill this less often. A decorative air vent cover if you love almost everything about your home — except for the eyesore of a vent that angers you whenever you walk by it. This simple, affordable upgrade requires hardly any effort and will totally transform the look of a room! Some flexible baseboard trim for that one area in your home that has been seriously neglected and you're finally ready to do something about it. A clean, sleek baseboard can do wonders for a room, so why not add your own? A waterproof *and* weather-proof outdoor storage box to store anything you don't want scattered across the lawn, like cushions, kids' toys, and pool supplies. It's durable enough to withstand the elements and big enough to hide yard clutter!

Chip Gaines Reveals What Time Daughter Ella Got Home From Prom—and the One Rule He Gave Her Before the Big Night

Chip Gaines has opened up about daughter Ella's prom night—revealing that the teenager had such a good time at the event, she didn't return home to their Waco, TX, farmhouse until the 'wee hours of the next morning.' The Magnolia Network founder, 50, spoke out about his 18-year-old daughter's milestone moment during an interview with the 'Today' show. Ella broke the one rule that he and wife Joanna Gaines implemented: that she had to be home by midnight, he said. The father of five noted that his daughter was less than impressed when he and Joanna, 47, informed her of the curfew, revealing that she responded with a drawn-out 'Whaaaattt?' 'When I was a kid, midnight was really late,' he continued. 'I thought that would have given her plenty of time to do everything she'd want to do at prom, but apparently, it wasn't enough.' Luckily for Ella, he fell asleep before she arrived home, Chip confessed on 'Today.' 'She blew past that [curfew], but what do you do? What do you do with this 18-year-old human being that is now legally an adult? She could serve in the Army if she had to, and here I am explaining that she has to be back at 12 o'clock,' he added. While he was fast asleep, Joanna made sure to stay up until Ella returned to their picture-perfect property, he said. 'Jo is extremely thoughtful in that way, and I guess I'm a little bit too lazy,' he admitted. When asked about what Ella donned on the special night, he joked that he was the 'wrong guy' for style inquires. 'There was a dress for sure, and she had a pair of shoes on. In regard to the color or pattern … I'm going to have to text Jo,' he teased. Meanwhile, Joanna put together floral arrangements for Ella and their other children, Duke, 16, and Emmie, 15, who also attended the dance. 'That was so sweet,' Chip said of his wife's hard work that went into making their children's night perfect. The couple, who tied the knot in 2003 and rose to fame through their hit show 'Fixer Upper,' have five children, including Drake, 20, and Crew, 6. Drake is currently pursuing a degree in business entrepreneurship at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, TX. Ella, who just finished her senior year of high school, is looking at options beyond Texas. 'We can't wait for her to decide. Ella has thought about Korea. She's thought about sunny Southern California. She's not going to be in the Central Texas area when she goes on to her next chapter. 'She seems excited to be able to spread her wings and do something very unique and outside the bubble,' Chip revealed. His 'engaged and thoughtful' daughter wants to study digital design, said the proud dad. 'With Drake, we needed to send him to college to teach him basic survival skills, like how to do laundry,' Chip joked. 'Ella is on the exact opposite end of the spectrum. It feels like we're sending this young lady off to become the next president of the United States. It's very 'The sky's the limit' with Ella.' He also told the outlet that Crew most resembles him, adding that 'anything is possible' when it comes to the 6-year-old. Ella's fun-filled prom night comes after Joanna announced the launch of a new series, 'Mini Reni,' which would see her going it alone, without any on-screen support from her spouse. She revealed she relished the 'freedom' that the project has given her, less than one year after she admitted the 'chaos' in her life had grown so difficult to manage, she needed to take a step back from their popular Magnolia Network. 'What I love about 'Mini Reni' is the freedom to go all-in on just one or two smaller spaces. 'These aren't whole-house renovations, so the heart behind the show is to inspire people to design their home gradually and thoughtfully, so that instead of having to wrap your mind around the million details that go into a bigger renovation, you can enjoy the process of creating beauty by narrowing in, flexing your creativity, and embracing the small details that really tell your story,' she said in a press NFL Owner Wants To Build Nearly 500 Homes on an Untouched Mountaintop—but Some Say It's Not Safe Pope Leo XIV's $199K Childhood Home Is Swiftly Taken Off Market Hours After Conclave When Owner Realized He Could 'Make a Larger Profit' 'I Went To Stay at The Villages To See If All The Wild Rumors About the Retirement Community Are True'

Joanna Gains Opens up About 'Tension' at Home Ahead of Major Milestone for Her Daughter

As Fixer Upper fans know, there's only one thing that Chip and Joanna Gains love more than shiplap, and that's their children. Which is why things are especially hard around the Gains compound right now, as yet another one of the couple's five children prepares to head off to college. Related: Vanessa Bryant Celebrates as Daughter Natalia Bryant Graduates From the University of Southern California According to Hello! magazine, 18-year-old Ella will be headed off to college in a few month's time, causing the interior designer to post a heartfelt message on Instagram over the weekend. The mother of five shared the message in an Instagram Story, which said, "The songbird must be so proud. She created a home and nurtured her babies and then ushered them to fly towards the big blue skies..." Okay, as a mom, this is really tugging on our heartstrings. But then the post continued, celebrating all of the mother "songbirds" out there who were experiencing the bittersweet pain that the Gains family is currently going through. "Praying for all you mamas who are planning and prepping for graduation. We did our very best," the post continued. "They will soar. May we hold gratitude for all that was and carry hope for all that's to come. Oh the tension and beauty in holding and letting go." Excuse us while we grab the tissues. This is hardly the first tearjerker of a moment for Gains and her husband. With senior prom only recently in the rearview, the mother of five has been all up in her feelings on Instagram, documenting all of those final moments with her daughter at home. But, as anyone who has followed the Gains family for any time knows, this departure will be a temporary one. That's because this close-knit family is unlikely to stay scattered to the wind for too long, so we imagine Ella will spend plenty of time running back home to see her mom and dad any chance she gets! Joanna Gaines on Her Family's Summer National Park Adventure—Led by Her 6-year-old Son

Exposing kids to travel is essential, but the reality of tearing little ones away from their familiar environments and routines can be a challenge. That's exactly why Joanna Gaines feels so passionate about family vacations. 'We're mostly all homebodies. We love to be at home,' the 47-year-old mom of five shared in a statement exclusively obtained by Travel + Leisure . 'But as our kids get older, I've learned what a gift it is to step away from the day-to-day with its schedules and rhythms and to-do's and have that intentional time as a family.' The Summer 2025 issue of Magnolia Journal, the quarterly magazine from the brand she created with husband Chip Gaines, focuses on the theme of "boundless" living, pushing ourselves beyond the everyday—and travel is arguably the best way to do that. 'We grow up and begin to sense the weight of life's parameters in ways we didn't when we were younger, so the idea of this season seeming 'endless' might actually feel overwhelming, even uncomfortable,' the interior designer, best known for HGTV's Fixer Upper, wrote in the issue's editor's letter. The idea was made especially clear during a family trip to Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada, last summer. The family followed the lead of the youngest of their five children—who range in age from six to 20—since he still encapsulates that childlike sense of freedom in his exploration. When an afternoon freed up, the six-year-old came up with the idea to go hiking in the park, she writes in the Magnolia article. 'I can't overstate how little hiking I've done in my lifetime, but with Crew as our fearless guide, the journey was fun and light,' she said. They followed their youngest to the water's edge and ended up jumping into an inflatable raft and riding down the Bow River—a moment so memorable it became the cover of the magazine. The Gaines family on vacation in Banff, Alberta, Canada. ' To me, the picture captures so much more than a cover-worthy location,' she explained. 'It was the way the day unfolded, how one yes led to another, and then another—no destination in mind other than 'farther'—that kept my gaze up and out at this big, boundless world.' The fact the thought was sparked by her little one just emphasized how powerful childhood wonder can be, especially when kids are provided the palette to explore their curiosities, a trait she believes Crew inherited from Chip. 'When Chip and Crew are leading the pack together, there's almost no stopping them,' she said, adding that they both have a sense of adventure, plus a love of skipping rocks! 'Honestly, if we hadn't already been in a spontaneous state of mind, I'm not sure any one of us would have sought out this experience,' Gaines said. While it may have felt outside of their norms, the reward was well worth any sense of unease. 'Whenever we do get away, we're given the space to really be present,' she told T+L exclusively. 'So, for us, unhurried time together is really what we're after—so we limit phones, we pick a few 'things to do' that everyone is excited about, and we toss the schedule out the window.' By sharing her own transformative family travel moment, she hopes to inspire others to really push the boundaries of expectations and let the adventures unfold. 'We often crave what's out there—and while it's so, so good to chase those dreams and venture past our comfort zones, in recent years I've learned it's possible for 'boundless' to thrive right here too,' Gaines also wrote in the issue's letter. 'There's newness and adventure to be pursued in wide-open spaces and close to home.' Read the entire story in the new Summer 2025 issue of Magnolia Journal when it hits newsstands Friday, May 16.
