It has been a whirlwind of activity for the much-loved 50-year-old presenter, who has become a staple on TV. ‌ Indeed, since taking the helm of the Great British Bake Off in 2023, Alison has also been hosting For the Love of Dogs, maintaining the legacy of the series originally helmed by the beloved Paul O'Grady, for the past year. ‌ Moreover, viewers welcomed Alison Hammond's Florida Unpacked on BBC Two in January, while last month, Alison Hammond's Big Weekends debuted. Let's hit the road." ‌ An insider told The Sun: "Alison was the natural choice to present this, with her warm personality and ability to catch unguarded moments with the singers, together with chatting to the crowds. "Your Song will feature people who love singing – they may have been singing for a long time but not necessarily in public or on a stage. You can expect some unexpected performances." ‌ Following her recent revelation to Bella magazine about her significant weight loss, Alison shared: "I've lost a lot of weight. I can remember being nearly 30st, and now I'm in the 17/16st 7lbs range. "I've got a personal trainer - she's amazing. She trains me when I can train. If I'm working, I don't train. I'll go for a walk. "But when I'm at home, I'll go and have a session with her in the morning, just an hour. It might be four days a week." This Morning is available to watch on ITVX.

This Morning star Alison, 50, shares 19-year-old son Aidan with former partner Noureddine Boufaied. She worked with the teenager while filming Alison Hammond's Florida Unpacked. It gave Aidan a chance to see what his mum really does for a living. Speaking to Woman's Own magazine, Alison says it changed his opinion on her job. She said: 'I loved working with him. He used to say I stole a living, but when he did the programme, he told me he really appreciated how hard I work. 'I am proud to call him my son. He has turned out to be a wonderful young man and we want to do more things together.' (Image: BBC/Rock Oyster Media Productions Ltd) Florida Unpacked saw Alison and Aidan travelling around the sunshine state on a budget. Television star Alison developed a passion for travel when working as a tour rep before finding fame. Throughout the series, she shared essential money-saving tips for budget savvy travellers. It examines four main areas: food and drink, accommodation, travel, and experiences. Alison said: 'Travel is in my blood. For years I worked as a tour rep following in the footsteps of my dear mum. This meant I was lucky and got to visit Florida from a young age. 'I was so captivated by America's culture, food, TV shows, and films and some of my happiest memories are tied to those first formative trips to the US. We managed to budget our way to a place that totally captured our hearts… and now I can't wait to share Florida's best kept secrets with you all.' (Image: BBC) Alison rose to fame after she appeared on Big Brother in 2002. She was the third person to leave the series, with DJ Kate Lawler winning the show. Alison later joined This Morning as a showbiz reporter. She became a popular figure for her cheeky interviews with A-list stars, once feeding Hugh Jackman strawberries on air. She joined the cast as a main presenter alongside Dermot O'Leary in 2021. She has also appeared on shows such as Loose Women, I'm a Me Out of Here!, Celebrity Coach Trip, and Strictly Come Dancing. Alison has previously revealed she initially went on Big Brother because she had £3,000 in debt, and was lured by the show's £70,000 prize. Speaking on the Table Manners podcast in 2022, she said: 'I owed like £3,000, which I was traumatised by at the time. 'I just couldn't make that debt go down. So I thought it would be a good idea to win £70,000 on a TV show." She quit her job as a rep in Tunisia to join the show. It was her comedic streak that won over ITV bosses, who snapped her up after leaving.

The pair's natural chemistry and light-hearted dynamic reportedly caught the attention of producers, who were keen to bring them on board for the charity edition of the popular series. ‌ ‌ A source told The Sun's TVBiz column: "Producers were impressed by the dynamic between Aidan and his mum on their new travel show, so wanted a piece of it for Celebrity Gogglebox. "They're always looking for new duos to appear on the programme to keep it constantly feeling fresh, and, of course, fronting The Great British Bake Off means Alison is already part of the C4 family." Hammond, who rose to fame on Big Brother in 2002, recently revealed that she turned down an invitation to return to the reality series. While speaking to Magic Radio, she said: "I just got asked and I said no. Yeah, they asked me and I said no, I wouldn't do it again. I just think I've done it, haven't I?" The TV presenter has spoken wistfully about her career fulfilling her late mother Maria's dreams. Maria, who passed away from lung and liver cancer in 2020, was a strong supporter of Alison's ambitions from the beginning. ‌ Hammond told the Mirror: " This Morning was always a staple in our family home growing up. It's so bittersweet to know that this has happened and she's not here to see. Having said that, I do still feel her presence. It feels like my mum is still looking out for me in a strange way." She told Judi Love on Loose Women: "There is a moment we are doing canoeing actually, and I started having a panic attack. "I started having a panic attack because I thought there were alligators and do you know when you get the heebie-jeebies about spiders crawling all over you, and I started having a proper panic attack. He [Aidan] looked like the adult that was like 'Mum, we are going to go back, calm down.' I looked like a five-year-old." When Hammond was given the Role Model Award at the MBCC in Birmingham last December, she made a touching speech about her love for her son, telling him: "I love you so much son and I'm sorry I haven't always been there but I'll be honest with you, the reason I was doing it, was only for you."
