This Morning star Alison Hammond says 'let's hit the road' as she takes on new show
Alison Hammond has announced that she will be fronting a brand new show later this year.
This Morning's Alison Hammond has announced her latest career move, as she tells fans: "Let's hit the road."
It has been a whirlwind of activity for the much-loved 50-year-old presenter, who has become a staple on TV.
Indeed, since taking the helm of the Great British Bake Off in 2023, Alison has also been hosting For the Love of Dogs, maintaining the legacy of the series originally helmed by the beloved Paul O'Grady, for the past year.
Moreover, viewers welcomed Alison Hammond's Florida Unpacked on BBC Two in January, while last month, Alison Hammond's Big Weekends debuted.
In her new series, she mingles with celebrated personalities, such as Perrie Edwards and Luke Evans, exploring the locales that shaped their identities, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Never one to rest, it has been revealed that Alison's upcoming television project will see her anchoring Channel 4's Your Song.
This heartfelt production will enable ordinary folk from across the UK to perform songs that hold deep personal significance.
Mirroring the format of The Piano, produced by the same team at Love Productions, the six-part show will follow Alison as she travels the nation.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the new programme, Alison commented: "I love the power that music, and singing your heart out has.
"It can change your mood – put a smile on your face, make you sad, make you reminisce. So I'm really excited about this new show, about real people telling us their stories through song. Let's hit the road."
An insider told The Sun: "Alison was the natural choice to present this, with her warm personality and ability to catch unguarded moments with the singers, together with chatting to the crowds.
"Your Song will feature people who love singing – they may have been singing for a long time but not necessarily in public or on a stage. You can expect some unexpected performances."
Following her recent revelation to Bella magazine about her significant weight loss, Alison shared: "I've lost a lot of weight. I can remember being nearly 30st, and now I'm in the 17/16st 7lbs range.
"I've got a personal trainer - she's amazing. She trains me when I can train. If I'm working, I don't train. I'll go for a walk.
"But when I'm at home, I'll go and have a session with her in the morning, just an hour. It might be four days a week."
This Morning is available to watch on ITVX.

Beth to Fubar: the seven best shows to stream this week
This is the first original drama produced for the new Channel 4 digital platform, which will be on YouTube, alongside a broadcast on Channel 4. It packs plenty of intrigue into 45 minutes. Written by Uzo Oleh, Beth stars Nicholas Pinnock and Abbey Lee as Joe and Molly, an interracial couple longing for a child as they struggle with IVF and ponder adoption ('I want our kid to look like both of us'). Eventually, an apparent miracle happens and Imogen is born. But soon, the circumstances around her conception – and Abbey's relationship with her doctor – become mysterious. Pinnock and Lee do a sensitive job of rendering the retreating intimacies of their collapsing relationship. Channel 4, from Monday 9 June This espionage comedy drama has its cake and eats it, with daft genre tropes and knowing humour. The key to its success is Arnold Schwarzenegger as agent Luke Brunner, happily poking fun at his own legend. When we rejoin Luke's team, they're in witness protection – and a shocking early death makes the threats they face clear. But they're going up the wall, and Luke's agent daughter Emma (Monica Barbaro) is cohabiting with both an ex and her new squeeze. Fortunately, they soon have a new adversary to distract them in the shape of terrifying nihilist Dante. Plus, Carrie-Anne Moss later joins as Luke's old flame. Netflix, from Thursday 12 June In June 1994, horror was visited upon the remote tranquility of Orkney when Bangladeshi waiter Shamsuddin Mahmood was shot dead by a masked man while serving a table in the island's only curry house. This gloomy but gripping documentary explores what followed: a manhunt that would last for a remarkable 14 years (and the extraordinary events that unfolded at the trial of suspect Michael Ross); multiple issues surrounding the police's handling of the murder; racism; and the lingering impact of trauma on an isolated community. Prime Video, from Sunday 8 June Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast has become massive, second only to Joe Rogan's manosphere monster but attracting a very different audience. It's a candid exploration of sex and relationships with a strong emphasis on female empowerment. This two-part documentary expands Cooper's empire by offering a glimpse of the woman behind the mic. Like the podcast, it's rarely subtle and can feel a little stage-managed. But Cooper is a shrewd operator and this is another smartly placed building block in a growing media brand. Disney+, from Tuesday 10 June This documentary exploring the catastrophe that unfolded at Travis Scott's 2021 concert in Houston is part of the same strand as Netflix's Woodstock 99 series and covers similar ground in its depiction of systemic failure leading to tragedy. One key difference is that concertgoers now have mobile phones – and the frequently horrifying footage takes viewers right into the heart of the crush that claimed 10 lives. The story of the aftermath is bleak, too: as survivors tried to deal with the shock while coaxing some accountability from the people who failed them. Netflix, from Tuesday 10 June 'There was no way of knowing when Titan was going to fail,' says one maritime expert in this documentary, 'but it was a mathematical certainty that it would.' What drove OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush to gamble with the lives of four people (not to mention his own) in 2023? The implosion of the Titan submersible was briefly a worldwide obsession as the vessel plunged to explore the ruins of the Titanic. The story is an insight into a certain kind of entrepreneurial mindset – one that finds death easier to accept than the possibility of failure. Netflix, from Wednesday 11 June Located on the cusp of Italy and Austria, the Alpine city of Bolzano is often considered a bridge between northern and southern Europe. Its political and cultural significance is explored in this gritty crime drama. A serial killer is on the loose but he seems to be exclusively targeting German speakers. Does discerning his political motive offer a route to stopping him? Inevitably, a mismatched pair of law enforcement officers (inspector Paolo Costa and prosecutor Eva Kofler) are on the case, but can they put their personal differences aside?Channel 4, from Friday 13 June

Sam Thompson's love life after Zara split and his response to girlfriend rumours
Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott split after five years together, with Zara now dating One Direction's Louis Tomlinson - who will be playing in Soccer Aid alongside Sam Sam Thompson has been participating in a strenuous challenge ahead of this year's Soccer Aid for UNICEF. The Made in Chelsea star and I'm A Celebrity winner has been competing in Match Ball Mission throughout this week, with his progress being broadcast on ITV's This Morning. He's been transporting the Soccer Aid match ball over 260 miles from Stamford Bridge to Old Trafford in preparation for this year's game. Every mile, whether on foot or by bike, Sam is aiming to raise as much money as possible to support UNICEF's work for children worldwide - and he's set to cross the finish line on Friday, June 6, which will also be televised on This Morning. Before he completes his colossal task, we delve into the 32-year-old's love life following his recent break up with Zara McDermott. Reality star turned documentary maker Zara is now dating One Direction's Louis Tomlinson - who coincidentally will be participating in the Soccer Aid match alongside Sam on Sunday, June 15 at Old Trafford. Sam and Zara's romance Sam and Zara started dating in early 2019, shortly after she had finished her stint on Love Island where she was involved with self-proclaimed ladies' man, Adam Collard, reports Wales Online. At that time, Londoner Sam was in a relationship with fellow Made In Chelsea cast member Sophie Habboo (now married to fellow MIC and Strictly star Jamie Laing and expecting her first child) but it wasn't long before Zara and Sam became official and Zara soon joined the cast of the E4 reality show. In a dramatic twist to their love story, Zara and Sam weathered a storm back in late 2019 amid allegations that Zara had strayed with music mogul Brahim Fouradi during her stint on X Factor: Celebrity, as reported by Hello! magazine. Initially dismissing the rumours, Zara ultimately poured out her heart on social media with an emotional confession in October 2020. That same month, viewers of Made in Chelsea watched as Zara implored Sam for forgiveness - footage that has since morphed into meme-worthy material. Happily, the couple later laughed off the incident. Choosing to put the past behind them, Sam reconciled with Zara, and the pair settled down together in their Chelsea pad, right next to Sam's sister Louise, sharing TikToks enjoyed by their fans. Why did Sam and Zara split? Five years on, whispers of a breakup began swirling at the start of 2025 after the duo spent Christmas Day and New Year's Eve separately. While Sam dedicated his Christmas to volunteering for a charitable cause, Zara joined her kin in Upminster, East London. Sam was seen revelling with mates at Kensington Roof Gardens to ring in the New Year, leaving Zara to embrace a quieter celebration. The crux of their separation seemed rooted in their hectic, clashing timetables. The last sighting of this reality TV pair together was in December 2024, celebrating Zara's birthday. It was then that Sam took to Instagram with loving words for his girlfriend, dubbing her his "soulmate". Who is Sam dating now? Sam, who recently opened up about his autism diagnosis, has reportedly been in a relationship with Love Island's Samie Elishi since April. However, when questioned about her support during his Soccer Aid challenge, he told MailOnline: 'I feel like... this is so much more than who I'm dating or hooking up with. And I feel like it would take away from what it is going on. You know what I mean? 'You know, If I had a wife or something like, like a girlfriend of years it might be a different. I just think that I don't want to do anything that will take away from this challenge and UNICEF - the spotlight needs to be on them. 'Like, I'm literally a vehicle. That's how I'm seeing it. I'm just a thing that is running to try and make money, so I want to keep it that way. ". Zara has been dating One Direction's Louis Tomlinson following her break up with Sam, and Louis is set to return to the Soccer Aid line-up. This Morning is on ITV1 weekdays at 10am and ITVX. Soccer Aid is on ITVX on Sunday, June 15
