FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – The Fond du Lac Police Department and community members are in mourning after the death of a beloved local icon. Jerome 'Jerry' A. Boehlen Sr. stood at the corner of Park and Merrill for two decades, helping children cross the street safely while greeting every passerby with a smile and wave. Emplify Health celebrates life-saving efforts of donors during 'National Donate Life Month' Jerry passed away on Monday, the Fond du Lac Police Department said. 'Rain or shine, Jerry was there — a steady presence, a friendly face, and a local icon whose kindness touched generations,' the Fond du Lac Police Department said. ' Brown County officials provide updates on closures during repaving of Fox River State Trail While Jerry retired three years ago, many will continue to recognize Park and Merril as 'Jerry's Corner.' Fond du Lac police arrest man after SWAT, crisis negotiators respond to Doty Street incident

FOND DU LAC – A 29-year-old Fond du Lac man was taken into custody Sunday after streets were temporarily closed and SWAT and crisis negotiation teams were activated. The incident began around 8:30 a.m. April 20 when police were continuing an investigation into a domestic violence incident that occurred Saturday. While officers were on scene, they learned the suspect was alone inside a residence in the 300 block of Doty Street. Additional officers responded, established a perimeter and tried to contact the man, police said in a news release. Surrounding streets were also temporarily closed. Both agencies also deployed rescue armored vehicles, K-9 teams and Technology Response Groups, which contain drone and robot resources. The teams worked to establish communication with the man, who was located by law enforcement at approximately 1:20 p.m. The man was taken into custody without further incident and was taken to Fond du Lac County Jail. No injuries were reported, police said. The incident is under investigation, police said, and no further details were immediately released Sunday. FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – The Fond du Lac Police Department reported an active law enforcement incident in the 100 block of South National Avenue around 8:30 p.m. on Friday. No details are available regarding the incident in question, which is right near Marian University; however, anybody who is in the area is urged to shelter in place. Police in Wisconsin still looking for missing 20-year-old Chicagoan, focus of searches to shift as water conditions improve Anybody who isn't in the area is asked to stay away for the time being. Wisconsin driver faces charges after crashing into milk tanker, drugs and illegal guns found in vehicle

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – Justin Fena, a man from Waukesha is facing serious charges after leading deputies on a high-speed chase on March 4th. According to a Facebook post from the Fond du Lac Police Department, the chase ended when Fena's vehicle crashed into a milk tanker at the intersection of STH 175 and CTH F. Fena is charged with five counts of recklessly endangering safety, drug possession, fleeing from law enforcement, and driving under the influence. He is also accused of having illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle. 'Utter disregard for human life': Appleton man charged in 2010 death of one-month-old child, faces up to 60 years in prison Police report that after Fena was arrested, a sheriff's K9 dog named Iro alerted deputies to drugs inside the car. A search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine, cocaine, LSD, THC, ketamine, and MDMA (ecstasy). Deputies also found five firearms, including two AK-47s, along with a large amount of ammunition.
