Three major development projects in East Godavari announced
Vijayawada: In a significant boost to tourism, education, and environmental conservation in Andhra Pradesh, deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan and MP Daggubati Purandeswari are set to launch three key development projects in East Godavari district, said tourism minister Kandula Durgesh.
He stated that the initiatives include the laying of foundation stone for the Akhanda Godavari project in Rajamahendravaram, the Forest Academy in Rajanagaram, and the grand opening of the Science Museum in Bommuru.
Durgesh made the announcement during a coordination meeting with officials from various departments at the collectorate in Rajamahendravaram on Saturday. He emphasised that these initiatives are not only aimed at enriching the tourism sector but will also serve as valuable educational and environmental assets for students and the public alike.
The tourism minister revealed that the foundation-laying ceremonies and the inauguration will be held shortly, and the dates will be announced soon. The previously considered date for the Akhanda Godavari project was rescheduled due to the upcoming cabinet meeting on June 19.
The Science Museum at Bommuru in Rajamahendravaram, is expected to become a hub of curiosity and learning for students, while the proposed Forest Academy in Rajanagaram aims to enhance forest conservation awareness and training.

During the review meeting, detailed discussions were held on logistical arrangements, including the venue setup for public gatherings and coordination among departments. Durgesh underlined the importance of a clear action plan to ensure the success of the events and stressed the need to effectively communicate these developmental efforts to the public.
The meeting also included focused deliberations with officials from the science & technology, forest, and tourism departments. Local representatives, including Rajamahendravaram rural MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Chowdary and Rajanagaram MLA Battula Balaramakrishna, participated in the meeting along with East Godavari collector P Prashanthi, district SP, and senior officials from other departments.
